Great from beginning to end. Maybe things changed from the negative reviews. Locally owned and very accommodating during covid. We went in wanting to just refinish our honey oak floors and we ended up tearing up carpet and putting down a new floor. We only had to be out of our house for one night and they worked with us to ensure we could BOTH work from home and the guy could get the work done. You WILL want to make sure that all your stuff is down...the equipment is heavy duty so a painting could fall if they hit a wall or the room will vibrate so just beware...if you are worried, move your stuff as they advise...we never took our doors off(closet) and the guy did it anyway so my guess is they would work with you if you are older and can't move certain things...overall, a great experience with Above All! read more

We had a great experience with Above All Hardwood Floors. We worked primarily with Beth who was responsive, articulate, super easy to work with and friendly. She made the experience seamless from start to finish. She helped devise the best solution for our floor (including patching in a section, replacing a section and leveling a section), as well as staining and finishing everything. She was super communicative and everything we discussed was well documented and priced exactly as expected. We nailed down my date in advance and the team arrived on time for all visits and scheduled work and finished on time. Customer service = top notch. They even brought in packages for us. You could probably find cheaper quotes and you could probably find more expensive quotes, I felt like Above All was fairly priced for the quality of work. The team that completed the work did an amazing job. They spliced in new floor in multiple places and it looked like it was part of the original floor all along. The stain was GORGEOUS. They did our stairs as well as some difficult to reach places and everything was completed perfectly. There was a section by our railing where the floor was misleveled, and you'd never know it after the work. They have a truly talented staff and you can tell they take pride in what they do. We are very pleased with Above All. They installed new red oak flooring to extend it beyond our kitchen, so our entire first floor is now hardwood. The transition from old to new is unrecognizable. Then they sanded, stained and sealed the entire first floor. It was quite a process since we had to remove everything off of the floors and walls, and stay off the floor for over a week. The result looks amazing! They stuck to their daily schedule and completed it according to plan. They even worked with us on a complication of our (existing) flooring being crooked, but they extended things so it looks perfect. Thank you Above All. We recommend them. read more

The actual floors turn out great. Sales person was awful to work with, house was left unlocked with all lights on one of the days, and they dented walls/chipped paint and broke electric sockets. They also left a big stain spot on the floor, which they ended up fixing AFTER I brought it to their attention. Added a week to the project. Personally, I would stay away. read more

My oak floor "IS UGLY" said Frank, one of their owners, last year. But claimed it's our fault because our house is "too dry." We had oak flooring installed in our kitchen and family room (11' x 26') in October 2007 by Above All Hardwood Flooring & Carpet. Problems from the beginning... They applied the wrong type of finish. But that was the "salesman's paperwork error, and he's no longer with them." We expressed concern about the cracks in the floor after a couple months, had them inspected and turned up the humidifier we bought specifically for the care of the floor as instructed. We had water running down the inside of our windows. After the second year we had to refinish the windowsills because of the mildew. We were told by one of their workers to just give it about 5 years for all the cracks to even out. So we did. I met Frank last spring at Lakeville's Landscape Home Expo at the High School and expressed our dissatisfaction. He inspected the floor. Unfortunately, he gave us the salesman's pitch and blamed the "ugly" floors on us, again. He was condescending and rude. He spoke over us, cliché after cliché. We know it's the nature of wood to shrink and expand. It's not rocket science. But our neighbors and friends, with new and old wood floors, don't have these problems. And they don't have humidifiers. But they didn't use Above All Hardwood Floors. Maybe their wood was totally dried and acclimated to the house before it was installed...correctly. Our wooden floor boards are closed only 6-8 weeks out of the year! Don't use this company. And shame on you, Frank. read more

I have used Above All for my hardwood flooring in 2 locations in my home. Main level has site finished 3/4 inch maple select (#1 grade) and it is rock solid - no creaks after 8 years. More recently we have prefinished solid 3/4 inch maple flooring installed upstairs. No smell...no waiting to walk on it. It is gorgeous. When our son damaged a couple of boards accidentally, they can repair it. Nice to deal with, good quality material, but pricey. High price is the reason I don't give them 5 stars. read more

Built a new house and used Above All Floors to install hardwood floors and carpet. They put in red oak floors which looked nice but when they filled the floor with filler like all wood floors need to fill in minor imperfections, instead of using a shade of brown they used Battleship gray! Really? They did come out eventually and had to dig out all the Battleship gray filler and re-fill using a natural tan. They fixed it but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. The carpet they put in was complete crap! We were assured it was great carpet but within a year it was falling apart. We found out by hiring an independent inspector that they used carpet that was" Staple"carpet which is cheap carpet. It was from Shaw which I had used before but I didn't know it was "staple" carpet which wore out within a year. This is in a 4500 sq ft house which only my wife and I live with NO kids or pets. They never disclosed that this was cheap carpet especially since we PAID for an upgrade!. When it came to fighting the company for a replacement, Above All basically provided no help and said we were pretty much on our own. Thanks for Nothing! The hardwood floor was ok after they fixed there screw up but STAY away from them for carpet. Their customer service is bad and carpet even worse. I have bought new carpet a few times in my 50+ years and never had such bad product or service as I have had from them. We are replacing the carpet this spring already but believe me we won't be using Above All Floors, too bad since we live in a new development and people have asked who we use for services like this and we can't recommend them at all. read more

Be very careful before proceeding. In June 2019, we purchased hardwood flooring and installation from Above All Hardwood Flooring. Immediately upon completion of the 3-day installation, we noticed as we were cleaning up that there was slivering and splintering throughout the new hardwood flooring. The vendor was notified the next day and sent another installer out a week or two later and they confirmed there was a problem but did not offer to remedy the issue. Two and a half months later All Above commissioned a consultant to inspect the floor. The consultant confirmed in their report that the splintering was a both a quality issue and that the edge damage was due to poor installation (improper use of flooring nailer). Request for a refund was denied. While they offered to re-install the same hardwood flooring, why would we trust them or the product they sold again? Proceed with caution. As of this writing, we are out nearly $14K and have a damaged floor to show for it. Thank you, Above all. read more
