I gave 2 stars for the cleaning/detailing service. But their customer service is excellent! Pros: very responsive to answer the phone. Also very flexible in regards to scheduling/rescheduling to accommodate. Cons: it took 2 hours 45 min to get my Corolla cleaned. Very sloppy "detailing." Although I told the technician that I have little kids and that they are messy, the cleaners left candies and sugary stains untouched. Even the windows were not cleaned well. These guys are really going "Above & Beyond" to scam people via Groupon. Even if you didn't buy a Groupon, I would NOT support this dishonest and shady business. Here's the story: #1. For my husband's birthday, I bought him a Groupon for these guys' services (where you call them, they come to you, and clean your car). #2. I called to make an appointment, told them I had a Groupon, and the guy asked me for the Groupon code, which I gave him because I figured he needed it or something to make the appointment. (I didn't think, for example, that he would LIE and mark it "redeemed" before providing the services). #3. On the day of the appointment, no one shows up. No one calls. We call, no one answers. #4. Eventually (i.e., after DAYS of trying), we get someone on the phone, and they chalk it up to just being really busy that day... which doesn't really explain why they never CALLED us to cancel. But, you know, second chances are important, so we make another appointment. #5. Lo and behold, on the day of the second appointment, no one shows up. No one calls. We call, no one answers. #6. My husband gets the owner's contact info from his response to a review below - contacts him multiple times, and we have never heard back from him or the company. #7. I contact Groupon to report the issue, and they tell me that the business had already cashed in the Groupon as REDEEMED. Unbelievable. In sum - STAY AWAY. No bueno. Shameful. #nosir read more

Updated: after some scheduling mishaps A&B came back out and redid my husband's SUV for free. While there were some hiccups along the way... The final product was great. :) Their customer service personal (Michelle) is excellent. This is the second time that I have used this company. The first time I received an exterior detailing as a gift. They did such a good job on my car that I asked about having my SUV done. They told me about their Groupon so I immediately went and purchased it. Similar to other reviewer's I did have problems with scheduling an appointment. That said once the technician showed up to do the detailing he was extremely polite. They did asked to use my hose because their tank was low, but I did not mind. Unfortunately I was not able to stay home the entire time for the detailing. I told the technician that my husband should be back shortly and he could finish up with him. My husband got home 20 minutes later and he was already gone. He'd only been there for one hour and 45 minutes. I thought it was questionable that he could've gotten the entire detailing done during that time so the next morning I went out to look at the vehicle. There were still bugs on the front of the car, it had not been waxed, and the back of the vehicle had not been vacuumed. I called the company that afternoon and immediately received a phone call back. The lady I talk to on the phone was extremely courteous and overly apologetic that the service was not done as it should have been. She offered to have the technician come back out immediately to fix it. I stated that I was actually leaving town for a bit and could we schedule it later. She said that absolutely was not a problem and that in fact when I called them back to reschedule it they would come do the entire thing correctly over again. They cancelled my first appointment. Then were two hours late to the rescheduled appointment. Also, since I asked for a detail, I assumed it would cover the inside of the car. Alas, it did not. They did not mention this until they showed up. Then, you'd hope for the price, that it would be a spectacular outside cleaning. It was not. I could easily rub dirt off with my finger after they finished. The techs were nice, but this was not worth the price. We agreed on a price (much more in tune to what I was looking for, as some detailing shops have the whole kitchen sink for $300+!) and I set up an appointment. The crew came to my mom's house (they let me know when they were on their way, which was nice) and did their thing despite the humid weather (I gave them water several times - you should too!). The car was sparkling! Now my mom has arrived back and she's so tickled pink how clean her car is (especially the interior). An hour and a half after the original appointment, he shows up. The detail was just okay. The level of thoroughness was that of a drive through car wash. Maybe it's just me...and maybe I'm weird that way, but I think that when I purchase a good or service, I have a reasonable expectation of delivery of what I paid for from the merchant. At a minimum, I expect them to show up. Apparently. the folks at Above & Beyond Detailing don't operate on the same expectations. At least this wasn't my experience when I bought and paid in advance for a complete car detailing deal recently thru a local retailer. I made TWO appointments with this business, and each time took time off work for a full day to be home for their mobile service. Each time they disappointed in a huge way. Each time I called them in advance and politely spoke with the dispatcher to confirm the appointment--something that really should have been their job. Each time they confirmed they had it on their calendar and would be out to do the job. BOTH TIMES THEY NO-SHOWED--without even the courtesy of a phone call. And this, despite my providing my number to the dispatcher more than once. The first time they didn't show, and didn't tell me they wouldn't--I called and I was given a lame excuse that the technician was caught in traffic. Really? For an early afternoon appointment? And he couldn't even call to tell me? The second time, I called two hours in advance to confirm, and then when they were already 30 minutes late with no status update, I called the business, texted, and emailed 1) the dispatcher; 2) the technician; 3) the manager--all numerous times. The manager never answered his phone and because he didn't have his voice mail set up, I wasn't even able to leave a message. Again, no phone call from the technician--or anyone else--to tell me they wouldn't be here--or even delayed. I don't know about you, but last time I checked, we were in the 21st century and there was a device invented in the last one called a telephone--and I think even most people have a mobile version of them these days to inform potential clients and others waiting on their arrival to provide updates. It's basic courtesy that most people expect--and appreciate. After TWO NO-SHOWS, I really would have expected the OWNER of the business to have made a personal call to: 1) sincerely apologize; 2) fully explain in enough detail to convince me that there indeed was a good reason that they never showed up without even the courtesy of a phone call; and 3) Offer a genuine and reliable good will service (in addition to what was paid for) to at least try to compensate and prove they were serious. Truly sad. When the dispatcher (a really nice guy who apologized for the no-shows) finally got back to me the next day, he offered me an additional detailing for free, for the exorbitant time and grief I had to spend to manage their delivery (or in this case, nondelivery). As I already had gone through this routine (made appointment, no show, apology, promise it won't happen again) TWICE already, each time with really lame, not really believable excuses, I insisted that he provide this same offer in writing and suggested he email it to me. When I finally got the email, it only mentioned an offer to schedule another time to come out again to detail my car, but no mention at all of the additional free detailing offer. (sigh)! Utterly clueless. Not only do these people have no idea that I was relying on them as professionals and people who care about their businesses--to clean my car, and they completely let me down, they didn't get that: 1) they didn't deliver (on time or otherwise); 2) they caused me to have to spend extra time, attention, and focus (5+ hours, not including the time to inform the retailer I bought the deal from, and provide documentation, and to do this write up) all of which was extremely frustrating and needlessly time-consuming; 3) my car didn't get detailed as would have reasonably been expected in a timely manner, causing me to be embarrassed to clients about the condition of my car. At this point, I am shaking my head and wondering how these people make living if they don't 1) show up; and 2) apparently can't even be bothered to have the courtesy to give clients an update? I can't imagine who the others could possibly have been that left positive reviews here (their really close friends...family maybe?) Certainly hard to believe based on my experience. In short, this is a completely unreliable business that I would never ever recommend to anyone--ever. Seriously folks, if you don't intend to provide the product/service, don't make people expect that you will. Please don't waste people's time and provide expectations you don't intend to fulfill. read more

If you are considering purchasing their Groupon deal, I don't care if it's on sale for $10, DO NOT purchase. I had my original appointment scheduled for Father's Day. After they did not show up, I called and they told me it was their fault, they shouldnt've scheduled it on Father's Day. Although they could've told me that before they booked me, that was fine. However, my Groupon was going to expire before their next opening, but they said they would honor my Groupon since it was their scheduling's fault. Fast forward 2 months, my new appointment was 20 July at 10am. The technician failed to show up 30 minutes beyond the scheduled time and after 1 hour of not showing up, we rescheduled to the next day, 21 July, same time. After the 3rd attempt, surprise....the technician failed to show AGAIN! He said he would be here in 20 minutes due to childcare issue..after 40 minutes, still did not show up...called again and said he is running into traffic at 11AM...it was now 12pm and still no show. I had enough of it so I called and asked for a refund, but they said I need to go through Groupon. Groupon said since the Groupon was expired they couldn't offer a refund. So that's $70 down the drain. Purchase at your own risk, even after reading this you are still considering it. read more

After reading all the great reviews I messaged with the company and was pleased to get a quick response and set something up for the next day at 11:30am. Around 11:45am I messaged again because no one had showed up yet. I was told that the tech had tried to call but I didn't answer--I did have a missed call, but no voicemail. The tech then called again after I contacted the owner and told me he could come in the next hour. They were so meticulous that they were here for almost 4 hours detailing my truck and then washing my girlfriend's car. They cared more about doing a great job than how long it took them. Wonderful! These guys do a fantastic job - I highly recommend them! We got a full detail this morning. Our car was disgustingly dirty - we have two dogs and their fur covered the entire interior such that we were embarrassed to give anyone a ride! After spending well over three hours on our car (in 90+ degree heat), the car looks brand new. It's just amazing. You can't see a single dog hair. It was a complete transformation that I didn't think was possible. In addition to doing a great job, they came to our house early, were very professional, brought all their own equipment, including a generator and water tank. I highly recommend Above & Beyond Detailing. We started using their service in early 2015 for detailing, now I use them to do routine car washes too. We have 3 dogs that shed and when they need to go to the vet or on a trip with us, I can expect that the car will be covered in dog hair. But I don't let that worry me because I am confident that Above & Beyond Detailing can take care of the car for us at a very reasonable price. I love that they come to our house and they take their time to work on our cars making sure that when the keys are handed back to us our cars look brand new again. I found Above & Beyond on Groupon. I called to make an aopointment. , and was very impressed by their professionalism and courtesy. Michelle was great. They followed up the day before the appointment, and the technician arrived promptly. I also paid extra to have some tar splatters removed, which took longer than expected. Since I had an appointment, I had to leave before he finished. Another tech came by a few days later, and finished, and did a fabulous job - the truck looks brand new! Was having 2 cars detailed. 1st car my Genesis was not bad at all so I was fine with it except they did not wax it because they didn't have any on the truck. Set up appointment for the 2nd car Maxima. They didn't show up or call to cancel. 1hr past the appointment time I finally reached the owner. Rescheduled and the owner stated he would be out to handle the job. That didn't happen. I fell asleep while the job was being done. Woke up everything was put away and tech was about to leave. I checked out the car. The seats and carpet being black looked good but the headliner and pillars being tan didn't look touched. The windshield looked like it was wiped with a dirty towel. The hood still had a waxie haze and swirls to it. I tried contacting the owner his mailbox is full. I sent a text message and still no response to today. I would've given 1 star but like I said my Genesis I keep up but wanted a fresh caot of wax and I couldn't do it due to surgery. read more

I had a complete different Groupon experience. I bought a Groupon, and attempted to use the Above and Beyond detailing website, but it didn't seem to work, so I called the number on the Groupon. The website hadn't worked so they scheduled an appointment over the phone. I received a call two days before confirming my appointment and to check if I had any questions. The morning of, I got a text the technician had called in sick, but they were sending a replacement who was right on time. He spent over two hours detailing my SUV and did an incredible job. My car is spotless, smells incredible and was meticulously cleaned and dried. I have a big shaggy dog and there is no hint of dog hair anymore and he got the ink marks that I had gotten on the ceiling. read more

On the last confirmation call, I asked if there was any way to push my 1:00 pm appointment to 2 pm and I was told I couldn't do that, so I made sure to leave work a few hours early. Unfortunately after an hour of waiting past my appointment time, I called and was told that my detailer would be an hour and 45 minutes late. Got rescheduled and another technician called me this morning (It was already like 1 hour after the time he was supposed to be here) and said he'll be there in 20 min. Went down to meet because I live in condo and I had to take my car down to get service but no show on time again. After 20 min waiting, called and he said he had emergency but on his way and will be here soon. Waited 40 min more, still no show. OMG. I CANNOT believe i had to wait 1 hour waiting outside at this hot weather wasting my time. I CANNOT even believe their excuses for not showing up, because after I read others review, it looks like these 'emergencies' of technicians happen all the time to other customers too. It must be their bad habit of not being responsible for their customers and making up excuses. Don't waste your time and I give 1 star because there's no 0 star. After a no show and no call and 2 weeks of failed attempts to reach someone I finally got in contact with the owner. The owner was very attentive and apologetic once communication was finally established and a third attempt to follow through with appointment was made. However, the detailing job wasn't decent at all. There were areas not vacuumed, residue from cleaning products left on dash and glass among other things. I sent the owner pictures and he wanted to schedule another cleaning in which I declined. At this point, 3 weeks after initial appointment and a countless failed attempts to reach someone, I decided I couldn't waste more time from work with another appointment. I requested a refund which the owner agreed. That was more than a month ago and I have yet to receive a refund and this is once again after multiple failed attempts to contact a representative. Occasionally I may get a response but after many attempts and still no refund. Results may vary but after this last experience I will have to look else where for detailing services. ***Update*** 7/18/17 The company did finally reschedule and there were some discrepancies with the followup. However, the owner did try to remedy the situation and once all options were reviewed and exhausted he did keep his promise and issued a refund. All in all I received an amazing detail with my first vehicle but ran into issues with the second and the event was satisfied with a refund. read more

I wish I can give this company a negative rating if I could. I purchased a Groupon deal for my boyfriend and scheduled an appointment for 5/6/2017. On that day, we were dog sitting in Ashburn and had to drive all the way back to Arlington just for this appointment at 10am on a Saturday morning. Not only did they never show up, we never even received a call about it. After half an hour of waiting, we decided to give them a call to find out what's going on. They informed us they'll need to reschedule but wouldn't able to do that till the week after. Despite the fact that this makes absolutely no sense, we decided to give them another chance. A week had gone by, we never received a call about rescheduling...We called them back again today, not only did they not answer, their voicemail is full so we couldn't even leave them a voicemail. I reached out to Groupon for a refund, but they already redeemed the voucher before performing the service, so now I won't even able to do that. If you have time to redeem the Groupon, you should have the time to call us back. Not even mention, as customers, we shouldn't be the ones that have to reach out to you about rescheduling and such. It's honestly almost comical at this point and I'm not even sure how this scam of a company even exists and be allowed on Groupon. I've already spent a ridiculous amount of time just trying to get a hold of them, but I'm writing this review so future customers can be aware of this company.
