It is all about ensuring the best quality of life possible for their residents. There is constantly fun happy activities happening. When you first visit you get the feeling of this quaint little community and then you enter and are amazed at how much space the residents have to roam around. I love the outdoor area! It is so spacious and sprawling with wonderful things to do such as the raised planter boxes. Oh and did I mention the chef uses the freshest produce that comes from their very own farm/ranch?! Probably the most impressive thing about Willow Creek is the staff. They truly care about their residents. The longevity of the staff is far greater than many other communities which provides the much needed stability that Memory care residents need to thrive. The cherry on top of all the goodness of Willow Creek is that the cost is among the most affordable in the Bay Area. If you are looking into Memory Care communities for a loved one, I definitely suggest you consider Willow Creek.

My aunt and uncle are residents there and are treated like family by the staff, who know my aunt and uncle's quirks, moods, preferences, needs-- including the setting up of my aunt/uncle's weekly Zoom bible study. Staff gracefully indulge my aunt, who has a rather demanding personality at times. (I wish I were as patient as they are with her!) Unlike many other nursing homes, Oak Creek staff seemed to love their work, which they perform as a true vocation. The building sits under a canopy of trees, nestled against a forested hillside. Residents have access to a large patio area with a garden, an aviary with cooing mourning doves, and chickens, with many seating areas. The entranceway is always decorated very festively according to season, giving it a cheerful ambiance. Art, music, movies, meditation, crafts, exercise, and many other activities fill the day. My only complaint is that I would love to live there myself and be pampered as beautifully as my aunt and uncle are!

Originally, he was at a different facility which was nice but above our budget. After touring Bellara with a friend who was also looking for care for her mother, we decided on Bellara. It is a beautiful facility, with spacious rooms, a lot of activities, impressive meals and caring staff. The initial meetings with Dominic Ong are what sealed the deal. He was a great listener, helped us problem solve, listened to our needs and was transparent on pricing and ways we could potentially save. He did not sell us any gimmicks and was very sincere. My dad loves his room, the spacious bathroom and independence. We are very grateful to Dominic and the staff at Bellara.

The apartment kitchen is full, though whoever thought putting the freezer on top of the fridge should be relegated to a lifetime of stooping to find things. PUblic spaces are well designed too, espcially the main foyer. And for now at least the price is relatively good. Staff is very friendly and helps whenever possible. (A special shout-out to Facility Manager Art Blancas.) A major flaw is the food. You pay for it whether you eat it or not. The few times we tried it meats were vastly overcooked and tasteless. (Salads are good.) So we buy our own food and cook it.

I liked Baywood Court the best because there is no expensive buy-in and the monthly rent is reasonable. From number 16 on the waiting list I was able to move in at mid-February. I have a one-bedroom apartment of 600 square feet facing the pool. It's between two exits so it's very convenient for my dog to go out for his business. Plus there is a half-mile trail inside the facility for his daily walk. I enjoy going through the Rose Garden and the Gazebo along many beautiful flowers and plants. Living at Baywood is like living in a hotel or a cruise ship. There is 24/7 lighting and air conditioning/heat throughout the building. I get weekly house-cleaning, change of bed linens and towels. I just leave my garbage at the door and all the packages I ordered are delivered to me . The two meals a day can be stretched to three because of the many options I can choose. In the one year I have been here, I have not cooked one meal for myself. No more driving to the gym. I just walk down the hall to my Tai Chi, Chair Yoga, and Zumba classes. We also have lots of performance by outside artists and regular health and informational meetings. Just this week we had Martini Monday, Coffee Social, and Tequila Thursday. You can play pool, jigsaw puzzles, Mahjong and many table games at the Game Room. There are also daily drive to shopping and regular visit to museums and scenic areas. Baywwod also has many group activities such as Sunday mass, Thursday Bible study, grief sharing, Spanish class, arts and crafts, movie and sports night, etc. I joined the Knit Wits to make projects for charity. I am the inventory manager and also volunteer as a cashier for our general store called The Cubby. The staff at every Department here are friendly and efficient. I love the community of other residents. The management does such a good job that I was pleasantly surprised when our rent did not go up for this year. I am so glad God provided me Baywood Court where I can live out the rest of my years feeling safe and secure.

We are very thankful to both Jody and Nanette for making our visits extremely pleasant each time. There were a lot of people milling around in the TV lounge area when we were there. It was around 1:30 p.m. The rooms for the independent and assistant living are not shared. They are spacious and come with a bar area, meaning there is a sink in most of them and a mini fridge. One of them didn't have a sink, but had a mini fridge and freezer. It was pretty tall. All have step up showers meaning there is a lip you have to step into. I was surprised they didn't have roll in showers. The bathrooms are spacious. It looked like there was enough room to wheel in with a wheelchair or walker. The rooms have large closets with built in shelves. The rooms we looked at were not on the first floor and we took an elevator to them. I was told there is a lounge on every floor, at least that's what I think I was told, we did not tour the lounge. The independent and assisted living share a outdoor space. It was nice. It had a community garden, lots of sitting areas, a place to golf and a dog waste disposal system. The outdoors was verynice. The memory care unit also has an outdoor space. It's less then half the size of the other outdoor space, but it's still nice and spacious. It also has a garden in it and they had a bunch of green tomatoes growing that I could see. There was a sign on the door warning of the excess heat outside. It also had plenty of seating areas. The independent and assisted living share a dining area. It looks like a restaurant and they have a menu of what is being served. The same food is served to the Memory Care Unit. All units have activities directors and a whole calendar of activities. The Memory Care Unit has Zumba in the mornings. I think that is nice. It will get them moving. The independent and assisted living have 3 exits to the building and they are free to come and go at any time. They also have an acute care area for those that need additional care, but don't need to be in the memory care unit. We visited the locked down memory care unit. It was very pleasant. It was right after lunch when we arrived and everyone was waiting for ice cream to be served out. They looked like a lively group. One of the women even said hi to us and talked to us. It's the best Memory Care Center that we've visited.

I was constantly sent from one person to another. They seemed very disorganized and I couldn't accomplish anything over the phone and when I was onsite, it still took forever to find someone that knew what was going on. As for care, she contracted pneumonia while there. They tried to discharge her with it, which her insurance objected to. They told me that she would be going home in 48hrs. Then she died. While the EMT's were trying to revive my mother, a nurse from the facility called and asked me what I wanted to do with her body. They didn't bother getting this info upfront and I was forced to send her to their default mortuary. When I called to ask to collect her belongings they told me they had to find them. They quickly hung up. I was left wondering why did it take them 8 hours to stop the bleeding? Then the ER Dr. told me Windsor said it was a surface cut but the Dr said that was not true, mom needed 20 stitches for multiple lacerations. The Dr told me she spoke with Windsor staff letting them know that when an elderly patient falls they must immediately go to ER. You'd think Windsor would already know this.
