I recently contacted Alice Home Care for some advice as I had used them for my uncle during the pandemic. I needed advice about help I needed in an area that Alice Home Care did not service and Alice was very helpful with a referral and also helped me with concerns I had with that other agency. The direct care I had with working with Alice Home Care was over the top. We were in the pandemic. My uncle had fallen and had Covid and needed home care. Alice met me at the house and we proceeded to get information from my cousin about what was needed for his father. Then my cousin fell ill during the talk. Alice saw the severity of the situation and brought in help within a couple of hours. This was amazing. And so badly needed. Eventually a longer term solution was found by Alice and the care was used for several months until my uncle moved to assisted living. After total ankle replacement surgery I was confined to bed with an elevated leg for most hours of the day for two to three weeks. I had help from my family for the first week but did not know much help I would need after that. At 84 and living alone in a house with many stairs, I anticipated needing some care. I called Alice after the first week, seeking help with a range of concerns - I could not easily ice the wound on my own. Cooking and even minimal housekeeping were. still impossible. She's extremely responsive, thorough, personable and extremely knowledgeable about using longterm care insurance to help defray costs. Recently used Alice home care based upon the positive reviews and the reassuring intake liaison. The liaison told us that the caregivers would take Mom out for grocery stores, walking in a park. But the experience was not was agreed upon. The caregivers did not have a car to take her out as we were told they would have, did not follow detailed written instructions left for them in the house, and apparently were content to watch Mom sleep. then they charged more time than the agreed upon 4 hrs. The liaison was nice...but what was the point of spending so much time agreeing upon details of care ...only to have the caregivers do such a minimal job at the agencies full rate. read more

I hired Alice Home Care when I was going through breast cancer treatment. As a single mom, I needed help during chemo. Shirley and her team have been instrumental in my Dad's comfort, especially as we approached the end of his life. Her and her team not only assisted with him as he lost his mobility but spent a great deal of time consoling him. My dad was always a rather strong individual (both in the physical and personality sense) so it was crushing when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Amy, Zhen and Shirley made sure that his every need was met while making sure we, the family, were ok as well. In his last days, Shirley and her team were there to help him transition. We were looking for in-home help for an elderly person who is dealing with health issues. My mom got a referral from a social welfare agency to Alice Home Services. The receptionist took a message and Gail called back. When she heard that the care mainly involves (nutritious) meal preparation for the elderly, she seemed very offended. She sounded like this kind of work is below her and her agency. She blamed the social welfare agency for making the referral. She was condescending and rude. I've been using Alice Home Care for several months and couldn't be more pleased with their service. It all starts with Alice who's wonderful at understanding your family needs. For us, things are challenging as my parents are non-English speakers and trying to find someone to care for them who speaks Cantonese fluently is a must-have. The Cantonese caregivers at Alice Home Care have become like family to us. They provide loving, attentive, personal care and companionship to my mother. Having caregivers who speak her language made it so much easier for her to accept outside help, especially since they understand her culturally. Sherry came to do a home visit and enroll us when we were still uncertain how much care we would need. My father suffered a stroke in 2017 that left him unable to care for himself. He was not interested in living with my family and wanted to live in his home.
