His stories of the local haunts kept us engaged, and his historical knowledge fascinated us. We didn't see any paranormal activity, but the EVP recordings that we listened to added an extra element of creepiness. I highly recommend this tour. What a great ghost tour (learned even more Old Town history) we had last night! Alison was our guide with Edwin as back up (& comic relief) on a chilly slightly dark night. I've been on a ghost tour in New Orleans that mostly pushed drinking & buying trinkets (& cost twice as much) but actually heard about the "ghostly goings on" in Old Town for past 250+ years with this duo. Alison did a very good job conveying not only the "apparitions" but also what was happening at the same time from an historical & societal perspective. Sounds like this company also does its own paranormal investigations in the area, so it's not just a "tourist trap" business. We were for something different to do with the kids, and this ghost tour was perfect. Our guide did a great job of mixing the ghost stories with the history of old town and kept everyone engaged. Absolutely loved it! We did the 10pm tour with Charlie and Lin. It was an amazing mix of history and creepy tales. Charlie was captivating and did a great job including our skeptic young son. By the end of the tour he was a believer for sure. We were aware that we wouldn't be able to enter the buildings prior to the tour. That info -- as well as other helpful info -- was very clearly communicated on the website and subsequent emails prior to our reserved date. While it would be cool to go in these places during the tour I'm sure it would be a logistical nightmare to arrange with all of the stakeholders. On that note I will keep an eye out for special ghost hunting tours offered and will visit the locations during operating hours. I'd highly recommend this tour, but please have realistic expectations. read more

Attended the July 17 Ghost Tour of Old Town. Left disappointed and wished it would have been much better. Guide was very friendly as was ticket window person, but the tour fell short when it came to authenticity and mood. It seemed more like a "funny tour with a few colorful ghost stories" instead of a serious, focused tour. Unfortunately, this tour pales in comparison to other ghost tours I have taken around the country. Real ghost tours should not be funny, full of corny jokes and hokey tales. What an opportunity Old Town has for a very intense and somewhat scary ghost tour at night. Please rethink your approach to this tour. Also, try to include more accurate dates, names, facts and figures when giving the tour. If various events actually took place, especially those in the 20th century, then have accurate proof. I liked our guide as he was a very nice person and even gave him a $10 tip, however, I just wish he was more serious and focused in his style. Perhaps he was nervous or just starting out? read more

Beautiful night of story telling. Took the 8:00 pm public tour with our teens 17 and 14. The group size was 17 and didn't feel too large. Charlie was our tour guide and he does an amazing job of weaving each of the 5 stories. It did rain quite heavily during about 30 minutes but the guide had covered spots for each of his stories and we stayed almost completely dry. This tour was a FULL 2 hours so know that the 8:00 pm tour won't end until 10:00pm. Each story at each spot takes between 15-20 minutes there are some places to sit at some spots but be prepared to stand for long periods of time. Great for families of all ages! The 14 year old said it was her favorite activity of our time in ABQ. read more

Not your typical scene at 8 pm on Dia De Los Muertos, in Olde Towne, Albuquerque. Literally - the only life we saw was a black cat hanging out by the very old church, next to Mary art in the tree. But you know, 2020. Covid has the city under tight lockdown so silence and an eerie darkness permeated the air as we departed from the towne centre to look for and learn about the ghost, haunted spaces; and maybe see some orbs. Bradd, was charged with leading a believer, a skeptic and an excitable curious folk amongst his small group. Bradd was brilliant. He was patient with questions and interjections and truly displayed a love for Old Towne and a passion for his work- despite some major playful challenges by the group skeptic. In the end, it was nothing less than educational and far surpassed any expectations we had. Would take this tour again in a heartbeat. To Bradd: I hope Scarlett becomes a reality for you! We didn't find the wood chips, brass cannons or Scarlett's burial place- but it wasn't for lack of trying. read more

I took a history tour a few weeks ago. I'm giving this 1 star because while the tour guide was very knowledgeable about aspects of Old Town's history, he told it strictly from the perspective of Anglo settlers which was very uncomfortable and unfair to the other groups who have inhabited the area before and after Europeans arrived. Our guide routinely referred to Native Americans as "the enemy" when describing how the settlement was built to protect against their attacks. He said this without discussing why some Native American groups would attack the settlement (because Anglos never did anything wrong). At one point, he told me (a white woman) that if they had gotten through the walls I would have been taken captive and forced to have "Indian" babies for the rest of my life, or something to that effect. He also spoke about Native Americans as if they were one cultural group, which they are not. The Comanche and the Navajo had very different cultures and interactions with settlers, for example. It was disappointing that our tour guide never acknowledged this, either because he didn't know or didn't think it was worth mentioning. He also spoke about slavery and the confederate presence in Albuquerque in a far too flattering light. This included saying that the confederate flag couldn't be flown in Old Town due to "political correctness" and telling a battle story from the perspective of the confederates before they were defeated and lost control of the territory. When telling us about a prominent historical figure's slave ownership in Old Town, he said that the slaves were "well-fed, clothed and housed" as if that made it OK for the guy to own people. The whole time, I was wondering what this guy would do if the people on the tour were not white, as we all were. The final straw leading to the 1-star rating was how I told the tour guide that I didn't want to be in a picture for the website and he told me to turn around so that my face wouldn't be in it, then took the picture anyway. It was super weird and inconsiderate. read more
