Hands down the best ghost tour I've done. (I've done Savannah, Providence RI, New York, Dublin, Wilmington NC, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some....) This tour was scary and they kept it small. Just 7 of us. There was one very knowledgeable guide and an assistant (she walked into the areas before we got there, took care of set-up, etc.) This tour company is a well-greased machine- runs smoothly and very organized. I loved the stories. I loved the ambiance. There were several times when I had chills up my arms. I also appreciated that they did not make it kitchy or cheesey. All of the stories were authentic and well-told. Some tours focus too much on the history and not enough on the ghosts, some focus too much on the theatrics, which disneyfy it too much. There was so much information during this tour that my husband, myself nor my cousin (who is both born and raised out here in Albuquerque.) ..did not know about Old Town. I don't remember what we've paid for our tour but i remember being extremely satisfied. First of all, i don't believe in ghosts, neither does my wife. But we had nothing to do on a weekday night of our route 66 trip so we did this because it fitted in our trip perfectly. It's odd, it's quirky, that's basically all we needed. The tour was awesome, the two guides were really profesional and answered all our questions, they even made us believe in ghosts a little bit. The stories they told were really something and if you know that the tour was held after dark you know that's a recipe for some scary good times! We went on the late night tour. It was heavy on local history, which I love dand had read about before from another yelper. The chapel was the spookiest part of the tour. It was a two hour tour without a lot of walking and multiple opportunities to sit down. Unfortunately the portable DVD player wasn't delivered to your location so we missed out on seeing some of the video evidence. Our tour guide, Tammy, had great knowledge of the Old Town History and was a great story teller. We didn't see a ghost but felt like we could at any moment. There is a lot of rich and sordid history packed into Old Town Albuquerque. We would definitely recommend for anyone interested in the best walking tour of OTA. We left the young kiddos at home - was worried would be too much for them. But our guide would be able to accommodate all ages, so this would be just fine for the whole family. This was definitely something we planned to do on our visit from Georgia. This was our first ghost tour of any type, and Tammy and Charlie certainly delivered! I was looking for a historical tour that went into some more uncommon history, and the ghost tour gives you exactly that. There were a couple of younger children in the group, and Tammy and Charlie censored it enough to not offend. Tammy also had to compete with a band in the square for half the tour, and she made sure everyone could hear before continuing. They also stayed after the tour to answer some of our questions and expand on some of the stories which we appreciated. And this is coming from people who have done tours on the Queen Mary and the Whaley House in Old Town San Diego. Charlie was our amazing tour guide, and he did not disappoint at all. He went over all the history and lore of old town and takes you to the various areas where ghost sightings have occurred. I swear I could hear him talk for hours if I could, he has a great talent in public speaking and keeping your attention at all times with his stories.
