Of course I was drawn in by the 5 star review, and the comments that indicated how much experience she had. I called immediately- it was a Saturday night. She stayed on the phone with me and patiently explained the process, asked questions and calmed my fears. I made an appointment immediately. What I have learned in the past three months is that not only is Julie Ann remarkably good at what she does-- it is a painstaking process and she is patient and diligent-- but she is also quite charming and a really lovely person. She has a million great stories she'll tell you while she works on you, and she will remember every detail you tell her- from your boyfriend's astrological sign to your mother's birthday. She's kind and compassionate and a real gem. Her workspace, while small, is filled with diplomas and certifications to ease your mind. She's been at this a long time, and she has stayed educated in her field. She offers the latest treatments, including laser. She's remarkably knowledgable about it all. For example, before finding Julie Ann I almost went to an expensive spa for laser treatment. What I learned through our extensive talks is that laser can actually make facial hair worse on women. It's great for arms and legs, though. Her prices are beyond fair- I've been quoted a lot more and she will not stiff you for time, though she's always got a customer after you because she is well known and so good. She does a lot and she will work on you as long as it takes. I always feel like I should be giving her MORE money- and trust me, I am broke and don't think that often. But you have a need- hair removal- so beyond all the other "pluses" of going to Julie Ann you can rest assured that she's the absolute best there is. Definitely call, you found your solution.

This location in particular gives doctors office vibe - it's very chaotic, and you can hear people talking from inside the room where your facial takes place. She said she'd customize it to my skin, but what happened next was mostly just a lot of irritation. She did a chemical peel on me that left my skin feeling dry and irritated. I was hoping for some hydration, but we moved on to extractions and then did some kind of electromagnetic thing to my skin that felt bad after the mask. She did put what was supposed to be a hydrating mask on my face, but with everything else she did I still left this facial feeling dry and irritated. I called to explain and apologize, and asked if the no-show fee could be waived or the session rescheduled, given that I'd never once been late or missed an appointment in years of coming here. Both requests were declined, and I paid the fee. I understand policies exist for a reason, but I was disappointed that years of reliability didn't factor into the conversation at all. If anything, it felt like the opposite, like being a long-time client counted for less rather than more, and that keeping my business going forward wasn't a priority. Good, reasonable customer service is very important to me, more than the fee itself, and it's a real part of why I'm now looking for a new provider.
