I became very self-conscious about my facial hair which, as I got older, progressively became thicker and more ingrown causing my self-esteem to plummet. Exhausted by all quick fixes (tweezing, threading, waxing, and even laser) I endeavored to find a more effective solution. I remembered an acquaintance of mine saying that electrolysis is permanent but requires repeat treatments. It sparked my interest even though I chose to marinate in my quick fixes. With extensive research and enticed by reviews I was led to call Elizabeth's Electrolysis Center. I left a message and within 24 hours, I received a call back and scheduled an appointment for a complimentary consultation. I visited Elizabeth today for the first time today and she was truly amazinggggg!!!! So pleasant, thorough, patient & well informed. Firstly, this is my first time ever doing Electrolysis. Up until two months ago I never even heard of it as a solution for permanent hair removal. I suffer from chin hairs (hereditary) and have been plucking them for about 10 years. In addition, I'm a Black woman and suffers from dark marks in the area due to hyperpigmentation from plucking the hairs. I did some research and came across Elizabeth Electrolysis and scheduled my consultation. When I walked into her office (extremely clean btw) I was greeted by Elizabeth. What I thought would be a 30 min consultation turned into an hour and 15 mins. As I stated, I've done research but gave Elizabeth the opportunity to explain the process to me. She first explained the different methods used to treat the hairs, the growth cycle of hairs, what I can expect from treatment and after care. I then asked her about the sterilization process and she went through everything showing me how she sterilizes the instruments, the different disposable needles used, how they are discarded in the sharps bin and so forth. I then asked about her credentials (as I did see she was board certified on the American Electrolysis Association website prior to my consultation and I saw she had all her credentials hung up on the wall to see.) She started off explaining to me what lead her into Electrolysis and all of the credentials and board certifications she has. After about 40 mins of talking she asked if I wanted to proceed with a patch test which at this point I felt more than comfortable to. She observed my chin and informed me that my case was not bad whatsoever and that I didn't have a lot of hairs. Instead of doing just a patch she treated all the hairs on my chin stating she didn't want me to walk out the office with half my chin left with hairs and that I didn't have many to begin with. All of this took about 20 mins but remember the time will vary based on the amount of hair! I do have thick chin hairs but again, not many so it didn't take long to remove them all. She also made me feel very comfortable throughout the process and stopped at times and asked if I was doing okay. Afterwards she gave me instructions for aftercare. I pulled out my card to pay and she refused to charge me! She said she always gives her clients a complimentary session and includes a patch test. I then offered to tip her which she refused as well! This is how I know she takes pride in her work and cares for her her clients. From there we made plans to to schedule my upcoming appointment schedule. If you are looking for an certified electrologist, I highly recommend this woman! She knows her stuff and as you can see from my review is just a pleasure to be around! read more

Elizabeth is a very thorough and kind-hearted professional. Literally one of the most immaculate professionals I have had the chance to work with as an adult. She also takes pride in educating her clients on best self-care practices before, during, and after procedures. I have extremely sensitive skin (multiple skin conditions) and pretty dark skin and Elizabeth has been able to work around it all and accommodate what my skin needed for best results. Elizabeth was recommend to me for an electrolysis consultation by Jaime Carson who does my facials. I called Elizabeth to make an appointment for a consultation and it was the best consultation I have had. Elizabeth explained electrolysis to me very clearly, explained the electrolysis procedure clearly, explained that electrolysis can take several sessions especially since I have very course hair, explained all possible side effects, and how to take care of my skin before, during, after electrolysis. She then performed electrolysis on a few hairs on my chin so that I can see how my reacts. She told me to see how my skin is in the next few days before making my decision. Overall, she spent over an hour with me for a free consultation and make me feel me feel so comfortable to choose her as my electrologist. She then told me that she is running a promotion on lifebooker and to take advantage of that if I feel that electrolysis is for me. She was not pushy in any way and I could tell she only cared to make sure I was comfortable with electrolysis. I eventually made the decision to do electrolysis and purchased the lifebooker deals. I am writing my review after 2 sessions with her for upper life and chin. I asked my doctor to write a prescription for a numbing cream which I find necessary for the procedure. Elizabeth is quick and effective and she uses the time effectively. She gives very clear after instructions (neosporin and witch hazel) and I follow them exactly. After my first session, I noticed that the upper lip swelling did not go down after a few hours like Elizabeth said so I called her the next morning. She replied to me instantly and calmed my concerns. She told me how to take care of my skin and checked in on my after a few days. She is extremely accessible to her clients and I feel so confident that not only am I going to get results but that she will help me handle any side effects that I will get. Also, I noticed that my hair is less course and there is less growth since the first session. She is also understandable of people on a budget and is willing to work with you. if you have a smaller budget you will take a little longer to finish but she will guide you as needed. Elizabeth is very nice and experienced, but I really regret having the treatment. I had 5 sessions of electrolysis on my chin which cost about $500, and am left with pitting and red scars in those areas, which crease when I move my mouth, and the hair is still there. The body areas treated didn't leave any marks, but the hair is still there too. Women reading this: I really wouldn't advise electrolysis on your chin, and can recommend laser for body. read more

Elizabeth is great! I never did electrolysis before. She gave a sample the first time I went in and was patient and explained every detailed. She was honest and sweet. I felt so comfortable. After my initial consultation, I have been to her twice for my underarms. I am content with the results and she is super patient and takes her time. The hair has diminished and slowly but surely it will permanently be gone. It is a bit annoying because it is like someone is poking you continuously but after ten minutes the feeling disappears. She also consults my facial needs which is great of her at the side. I definitely would recommend her and she isn't expensive compared to other places. read more

I've been going to Elizabeth since July and I could not be more pleased with the results. I've basically tried every form of hair removal known to man in the last 26 years and I've seen the best, most consistent results with Elizabeth. As everyone has mentioned, the woman knows her stuff. She is extremely thorough and takes such pride in her work - I've never once felt like she was trying to scam me out of money, over charge me, or not provide the service she said she would. She explains everything about the process to you and informs you of pre/post treatment care, as well. Even though I had done electrolysis previously back in Michigan, she wouldn't even schedule another appointment with me until several days after to make sure I didn't have a bad reaction to the treatment. She is so honest and works through a treatment plan with you to figure out what she thinks will be the most effective. While I highly recommend using a numbing cream, she takes such care that I have never once felt my skin burned or had scabs form like I've had at other places. And she's always pleasant, to boot! During my research of hair removal places, I came across Elizabeth's Electrolysis Center on Yelp and saw all the good reviews and decided to go in for a consultation with my mom. Honestly, I was expecting to spend like 10-20 minutes in there. We ended up in there for an HOUR!!! Elizabeth spent sooo much time with us in answering all of the questions we had and went into such detail about the whole process of electrolysis and what it does and how it works and what I need to do after getting it done. She even did a test run on an area to show me what it feels like, so I would know what to expect going into it. She was absolutely amazing!!! I didn't end up getting electrolysis done there because I had decided that laser hair removal would be a better option for me, since I wanted a large area done. I got living social coupons for 2 half hour sessions back in March, because my usual electrologist couldnt see me and i needed a session bad! Elizabeths office was very neat and clean, and she was super nice. I usually do blend because thats all my electrologist does, but Elizabeth explained how Short Wave works and i decided to try it out. She was very clear that i would scab and told me how to take care of my skin after treatment (witch hazel rocks!) and during the appointment she applied the most potent numbing cream ever, which i was SO grateful for. I really didnt like the scabbing after effects of Short Wave so i dont think ill do that method again, but when i cant see my regular electrologist i plan to visit Elizabeth for some blend. read more
