BOTCHED SURGERY + RETALIATION AFTER INITIAL REVIEW Post-Op process NOT AS DESCRIBED. Office initially agreed to fix their mistakes then changed their mind and ended care 3 months after surgery. Update: The office threatens lawsuits when people post negative reviews. They had their lawyers do so even when everything I said on the review is 100% true. The firm even removed the low reviews. Only a business that does not plan on doing the right thing to EVERY PATIENT would do that. When Jaws Podiatry & Dr. Wagner does not do the right thing there won't be any accountability. The physical therapy that I was advised to go to confirmed that PT was not going to fix the issues that were done wrong during surgery. The Post-Op appts that were missed by Jaws Podiatry & Dr. Wagner were important and per Dr. Wagner, they made a difference in my outcome. If Dr. Wagner couldn't professionally make the corrections, he shouldn't have charged me & ultimately do the surgery wrong. The entire Post-Op process I was gaslighted to believe things would get better. Additional professional opinions proved otherwise. THEN, when an initial review was made, the office retaliated by giving the worse Post-Op experience possible. I contacted the office to schedule an appointment and was asked: (1) are you a new or old patient, and (2) what type of insurance coverage do you have? I responded (1) new patient, and (2) Medicare and Humana. I was then told that I could not be seen until October. If that is in fact the is the case, why was it necessary to ask those two questions? I do not believe that the person answering the phone was being candid. If the office does not accept Medicare patients, or patients covered by my insurance carrier, she should have been honest enough to state so. If it is a matter of payment, I can well afford to pay. I am attorney licensed to practice in Louisiana, Oregon, Washington, D.C., Colorado, and Louisiana. I own property in Louisiana, Florida and Canada. Money is no problem. I would not want to be treated by someone employs a two question test to screen prospective patients. I suggest that, in the future, the office should not waste a person's time with those introductory questions. Just answer the phone and immediately state, "If you are a new patient and have Medicare and/or XYZ Insurance Company, we will not schedule you." I regret my decision to have surgery daily. My foot looks more like I have a bunion than before surgery. I had a traditional bunion surgery done years ago and decided I wanted a less invasive option to have less down time- BIG MISTAKE! The funny thing is the pain was actually worse than traditional and the down time was the same with sub par results. My sister had surgery done with Dr Wagner as well, and her toes are crooked and not straight, which is what was promised, she will need to have a traditional bunion surgery to fix as advised by another surgeon. Both my parents visited Jaws Podiatry successfully, so I rushed there after another doctor with another practice butchered my ingrown toe nail surgical procedure. I went close to 3 months with the wound not healing and Dr. Hugo Fernandez quickly diagnosed what went wrong and assured me I would heal. He was extremely kind, empathetic and patient with my fears as I was quite distraught from having someone else screw up my foot. I was looking for a foot doctor near my home in Ft. Lauderdale. I searched for a doctor on Yelp and Google and came across JAWS Podiatry. I called the office and they answered their phone right away. Their availability was reasonably flexible and I was able to get on their calendar within 10 days. When I visited the office, i was greeted by a friendly receptionist. I sat in the office for about 20 minutes until it was my turn. Dr Wagner had some x rays of my foot taken and he personally performed an ultra sound. He explained in detail what was wrong with my foot. He was direct, professional and made a recommendation. Overall, I was satisfied with the work performed on my foot during the 1st appointment. I felt like I was in good hands the entire time I was in this office. I will be coming back to see Dr. Wagner and his team should the problem persist. I came in to see Dr. Wagner in early June with extreme swelling and pain in my left ankle. I had already had a positive experience with him back in 2013 after PRP treatment completely cured my plantar fasciitis. This time my diagnosis was a complicated mix of injury and arthritis in my ankle joint and its surrounding tendons. Dr. Wagner performed another PRP treatment in late June and three months later I am completely pain free and my swelling is significantly reduced. I cannot praise Dr. Wagner enough for his clinical knowledge, professionalism and wonderful bedside manner.
