It sounded good and we were hungry, so we gave it a try. We opted for the three course meal and soft drinks. The first course was meh. The spaghetti was ok, the canneloni a bit dry and had definitely been lying around for too long. But the main (meat!) course was amazing. Tender and juicy with a baked tomato. The restaurants located at the top of the tower ensure you dine while taking in amazing views. We wanted to enjoy lunch while taking in the beautiful Barcelona sights, but most places were not as affordable. We almost lost hope when we stumbled onto them. We asked the hostess if we would be able to split a menu of the day, because we wouldn't be able to eat one each alone. After some thinking it over, we thought they were sure to say no, but they welcomed us with friendly smiles. Seated inside was just as delightful, as the decor created an intimate ambiance. We ordered the beef, croquette, squid ink paella (small up-charge), and the white chocolate mousse; plus adding on glasses of wine. The beef was a massive plate of meat. I can't imagine how the plate was designed for one. Perfect thin cuts, sprinkled with cheese and oil, each bit made us go mmmh outloud! The croquette was stuffed with a delightful cheese seafood shredded tuna or crab mixture-the meat took over, giving a hearty flavor profile. The black in seafood paella is a dish I will remember for awhile, as the burst of flavor was so delightful. A fresh taste, the rice was well cooked, not dry-with spinach and other fresh seasonings sprinkled throughout. The middle had a mound of seafood, fresh buttery scallops, calamari chunks, and shrimp. The white chocolate mouse had a delightful granola crumble at the bottom, which made the dish! On top of all the niceties of the manager allowing us to split a dish meant for one or charged for two-he brought us extra croquettes and complimentary glasses of Cava. We were the last ones in the restaurant, my son and my wife went to the bathroom and we left and when we came down the elevator we were confronted by security. The restaurant accused us of stealing somebody's iPhone and we were escorted back upstairs to the restaurant on the top of the building we were at and detained for about 30 minutes while they had to look through security video, not being able to prove anything, They not speaking English Us very little Spanish. This restaurant is located at the top of the Arenas de Barcelona so you can enjoy views of the city. The restaurant is nice. It has a contemporary decor. I went there to have dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I will rate the service 5 stars, Food 4 stars. Our server Miguel was awesome! His service was superb. He went above and beyond to make our night special. At the end of our dinner he brought us a dessert with numbered candles, he asked the restaurant to played the Wedding March and brought us two glasses of sparkling wine. I was not expecting it. It really made our night special. The food was good. We had the eggplants with honey and the chorizo as our starters. The eggplant with honey had a good flavor but it was a little bit greasy. The chorizo was very greasy. We ordered two paellas. Both paella's were great. You need to try the black paella. It is really good. The dessert was delicious and the coffee was okay. Overall I had a great experience when you take into account the location, the restaurant, the service and the food. Very cozy restaurant at the top of the Arenas. We were seated around 5:30ish and at 6:15 we saw the beautiful sunset over the city of Barcelona. We had friends with us & had the opportunity to sample some of their dishes in the menu. Barcelona loves to start their meals with calamari, or grilled octopus with sangria or wine. The grilled octopus was marinated in olive oil & had a distinct strong flavor. Our friends loved it but I took one piece & pretended it was good. I orderedthe salad with strawberries, walnuts, & greens, not bad. My husband ordered the salmon supreme which was about 8 oz with some potatoes on the side. I tried a piece but it tasted a bit fishy. I asked for the beef steak, 200gms. The menu did not mention whether it was a ribeye, salmon or sirloin & the waiter had no clue what part it was. I'm not familiar with their standards of cooking beef so I ordered medium. When it arrived, it looked more like a thin piece of ribeye and yes, it was pink in the center. Mediocre in flavor but it was cooked. When i ordered the pineapple flambee i was expecting a flaming pan in front of me, instead, it came out cold & sweet. Our friend ordered a custard that looked like a creme brulee but did not taste like a creme brulee. Another one was the volcanic rocks- chunks of chocolate that makes a little explosive sensation in your mouth just like tye way Nerds do (if you had Nerds when you were a kid, you'd know what I'm talking about). It was quite interesting so we each tried a piece & it was entertaining. The interior decor is quite lovely using reds, blacks & white hues. Modern table & furniture are used. I would recommend sitting by the glass window so you can watch either the sunset or the night lights coming from the street below. Even if I rated it 3 stars you oughta try it. This is more like some kind of Asian fusion cooking than Mediterranean I expected. The first waitress was impatient, the second got the order of seafood paella without mussels, adding sausage, incorrect, and a member of our party didn't eat the meal and asked it be removed from our bill. After much wrangling, it was removed. We had a 3rd waiter, a male, I guess he was sent to replace the other 2 that were exasperated. Oh well, the service was terrible until the male showed up. I had the fish and chips; the cod was fine, but not the salmon, cooked almost tartare. That was my fault not asking for a better cook on the salmon, but then again, considering my thoughts of some type of Asian fusion, not surprised. The best thing was the jug of red sangria. The view getting to the restaurant was excellent, the view at the restaurant is of the back side of Barcelona. I went alone at lunch (3pm) and it was not busy so the service was very good and very friendly. The place is exceptionally clean with white linen table covers. Their English was good. I ordered the daily special 3-courses of your choice from a list of about 8 items for each of the first two courses. The list itself was varied enough to accommodate most diners. The price was 14.50 euros and included a glass of wine (Montiero Viura - which is refreshing for hot weather). The mussels were served hot and a perfect portion for one and excellently flavored in an onion, garlic and pepper confit. The second course was Fideo noodles with cuddle fish, a shrimp and a mussel. The portion size was good, the shrimp and mussels quantity were left at one each with plenty of chopped cuddle fish. Both the first course and second course we're over salted and some people like that. I have high blood pressure so I am used to a low salt diet. The dessert was an outstanding mango sorbet with a cherry reduction. A good lunch worthy of 4-stars. read more

We learned about this restaurant from some travel blog that mentioned gluten free. Once we finally found the restaurant (it's at the top of the Arenas shopping center) we were pretty disappointed at the level of gluten free awareness we encountered. Most of the waitstaff had no clue and the Manager wasn't entirely sure either and did the standard "you can have salad" routine. We ended up rolling the dice and getting the paella anyways, which ended up being quite good. There were several other restaurants at the top of this shopping center and I'm afraid I can't convince you that Abrassame is any better than the other options. read more

The ambiance is really nice in this place. It is modern with an open kitchen and located on the rooftop of the Las Arenas shopping center overlooking Plaza Espana but the food and service were mediocre at best....much less for a 100 euro meal! My steak was well done and I asked for medium. It also looked big but had a considerable amount of fat on it leaving on a small portion of edible meat. It also came with french fries as a side.... hey maybe that's just Spain. My boyfriend's leg of lamb was bland and nothing to rave about. We ordered the brownie for dessert and no joke..it was the size of a domino . This place is supposedly known for their seafood and maybe that's where we went wrong, but I would suggest taking your 100 euros elsewhere and just visiting the view up there for free. read more

We found this restaurant as we had gone to the top of the "Arena" for the view of the city at sunset (view is nice). Once we looked up the restaurant we were hesitant to eat there due to low ratings and comments of terrible service. We decided to try it as we were there & the aroma smelled good. Right away we learned it was a mistake - it took over 15 minutes for someone to assist us (only 2 other tables had customers) despite our finally going to ask for assistance. The food was not spectacular (or even worth mentioning) and the prices were high - will upload photos. The only saving grace was the apology from the waiter (not the manager who I spoke to and praised the waiter) - the waiter shared he wanted to earn our positive opinion & did much to change our opinion - to him we say thanks (waiter was Jose). I really wanted to like this place. I really tried. On my last night in Barcelona we came to this rooftop restaurant with high expectations due to a high Google rating. The server was nice- to me. My food was good- but just mine. My two companions had terrible service. I ordered a la carte and they ordered from the special offered from Sun-Thurs that offered two starters, one main, and one dessert for around $24 euros. My experience: I ordered wine and the server told me my wine was for dessert and brought out another at his own discretion. My food came out relatively soon, shortly after my companions starters came out. The problem started when there were ingredients in the food that were not included in the menu. Like ham and quail eggs in the Caesar salad which could only be described as a lettuce wrap with a block of shredded pickled chicken. My friend was not happy to find extra things that she didn't want in a salad that was unrecognizable. I get its high end, but two small pieces of lettuce don't suffice. Or the tempura eggplant starter that didn't sit well with another companion. What made this experience terrible for them was an argumentative waiter who couldn't understand their meal requirements and became defensive when they found fault with the food they ordered and had to pay for. And then their entrees took FOREVER to come out. It was super uncomfortable to have an experience where my friends were miserable and I was the only one to have a decent experience. I gave the two stars for my own experience. Theirs was a zero as they didn't like the food and had terrible service so I averaged it out.
