Our visit to Abrassame came at the recommendation of our hotel concierge, after she was unfamiliar with the two other restaurants we had originally asked about.
The evening started off on a pleasant note--we were greeted warmly and offered a complimentary glass of champagne, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, the experience took a turn from there.
The bottle of wine we had chosen from the menu was not available, and the waiter quickly suggested another option that turned out to be €10 more. While not unreasonable, it felt like an upsell rather than a genuine substitution. We also ordered the aubergine and cod croquettes. The waiter quickly mentioned something about the cod coming with ham--without much explanation--and we agreed. When the bill arrived, we realized the ham was an additional item. Not a major issue, but the interaction felt rushed and somewhat pushy.
As for the food: the croquettes were enjoyable, and the wine we ended up with was quite good. However, the aubergine dish fell flat and didn't meet expectations. We had originally intended to order more food but decided not to.
Overall, Abrassame is worth a visit for a drink and the view, which is lovely. For the food and service, however, we found the experience to be underwhelming and would recommend it with some reservations. read more
