I was able to return to Gulleys 4 days after my purchase, and the manager in charge refused to refund or replace the dead plant. The manager in charge did offer 30% off my next purchase. I declined, deciding my shopping days at gulleys was over. I purchased a new fuscia at Lowe's a few weeks later, and the picture is how it is looking today. Independent nurseries complain that the big box stores are squeezing them out. My suggestion is the independent nurseries improve their service and stand behind their product if they want to compete.

This was the first time we tried buying our outside plants at Gulleys. We usually go to another nursery with this policy : All guarantees begin the date the customer takes possession of their merchandise. The following codes are found next to each item on the receipt and correspond to the guarantee given: Code A - 30 day guarantee: All Greenhouse plants, including but not limited to annuals, houseplants, bonsai, orchids, and other tropical non-winter hardy plants. Two of the steppers we bought didn't work in the place we envisioned, and they were $35 each, so we returned them the same day. They had never said nothing can be returned. We were willing to accept credit for the $70 because we're in a project, and needed more things. Repeat, paying customers. But they would not budge. We walked and won't go back. They're arrogant.

That goes with the territory. And this isn't a fine dining restaurant, so adjust your expectations of service. yeesh. You're not going to find a more diversified set of product available, the desk staff is helpful, and their delivery is very good. What's not to love?

I was just treated horribly by a rude manager while trying to process a return. There was no one…read moreat the customer service desk (apparently the desk was closed, but there was no sign). I walked up to the cashier at the self check out, who was happy to help me right there. She called for a manager's approval, and when one came over to the register, the manager made a comment to the cashier about how I was standing in the wrong place. The cashier and I were confused by her comment and when we asked her what she meant, the manager made more comments, about how 'someone needed to move away from the register', and she wouldn't help us until I moved. It was very petty, passive aggressive and uncalled for. And instead of making eye contact and talking to me directly, she spoke as if I wasn't there. I had two returns to process, however, she walked away after the first one, and I had to wait 5 minutes until another manager on duty could approve the return. Sad. Pathetic customer service!
