One of the bridesmaids at my daughter's wedding received her dress very late and when she tried it on she realized it required a major restructuring in only a couple days time. It was one of those dresses that you buy and everyone can wear it differently. It's supposed to fit all body types, etc. Right. I called to warn them that she would be coming. They gave me a fair quote and assured me it would be perfect. The bridesmaid went for a fitting and they literally re-made the dress in 2 days time. The price was very fair and she was absolutely beautiful. These gals are capable and fast. I've worked with them quite a few times with my business and I love their professionalism. Took a dress in to have the sides brought in half an inch to an inch, on not a lot of material. Was more than I expected to spend and have spent less on a very similar dress at another place. Was given a quote that it would be 10 days, and when I asked for it to be done in 5 days, the woman who helped me gave me attitude saying, well maybe you should have said something at the beginning. I figured that with a small alteration, you would get it done and out of the way, not give your customer attitude for asking for a sooner date. Could possibly benefit from some customer service classes. read more

This place was a life saver for me! Needed a patch job done quickly....that is, within 2-1/2 hours quickly....and the woman who assisted me (think it was the owner), really helped me out. Got there right when the store opened at 9:00 a.m., explained my situation, and the work was done, and done well, by the time I came to pick it at 11:30 a.m. as promised. Fair price too! read more

The gal here does excellent work - what kills me is the lack of consistency. I brought in a pair of umpire pants for hemming $12 and ready in five days. Pick them up, great done! Go back several days later and my memory wiped out, brought in a second pair of umpire pants for hemming. $16. Ready in five days. Didn't realize until I looked at the previous receipt that she charged me $4 more! The lady who does the alterations (I believe she is the owner) is very rude. Also, she is expensive compaired to everyone else and it takes too long to receive your garment back. So rude, expensive and not timely on finishing your garmet. If you must go there be sure to bring what ever it is you need altered and ask FIRST what she will charge you and then go get another estimate. read more

I have a couple of nice jackets I got from Banana Republic. Most who shop there know already their jackets have sleeves that are too long for the average woman. I previous took the one jacket to have altered at a place over in west sac. They messed up the lining in the sleeves. I was never able to roll up the sleeves like we fashionistas do. Well today what I thought was unfixable was fixed!!! For only twenty dollars this woman fixed it and it looks as good as new. I want to say a big thank you to her! And to think I had previously paid more than twice as much for that other place to mess it up. Quality DOES exist after all! read more

I have been going to Absolute Alterations for more than 5 years. The have done hems, waistbands etc. They just completed a major redo on a leather jacket that was 3 sizes too big. I use to sew (before I got too busy), and I have high standards for my alterations work. The ladies do an amazing job. They are basically perfectionists. A friend recommended Absolute Alterations to me. I'm so glad I found them! I have a difficult time finding clothes that fit properly, so I've used them a lot. The owner is so nice, very efficient, gets it all done in a week, & everything turns out perfectly. And the prices seem reasonable to me. I can't understand the other reviewers who found the owner rude! Perhaps in being efficient, she might come across as rude, but her efficiency enables her to get her jobs done in a timely manner. I have not felt as disrespected as I have by the lady in the shop on Saturday, August 12th. Not only did she complain about the tape I placed in the blouse so the hole could be found. But if you own pets make sure you don't have any pet hair on you. She will ask that you step outside and get it off. I try not to have pet fur on me but face it. It happens. I quite liked this place!! Just picked up my clothes today (only took them a week!) and I was impressed with what they did. Also they are very sweet people here. Greeted me with a smile and kindly listened to me and helped me out! Even when I wanted to make a last minute change before I left, the lady who was working with me wasn't upset about it at all and adjusted the pins right away! She was very patient with me. Wish I could remember her name! Can't say anything about the pricing because I don't get clothes altered often, but I recommend this place!! Brought in two pairs of identical pants to get hemmed. Done in two days even though it was a holiday week. Only $10 a pair, and they turned out perfect. Both ladies working there were very sweet, as well as fast and efficient. Will be coming back with any other alterations I need. read more

My wedding dress had just arrived at the bridal shop and had a manufactures flaw. Ginger is their seamstress and was hired to fix the flaw and provide me with a bustle for the train. The flaw was fixed perfectly, but the bustle, what a mess!There was parts of the train dragging the floor a foot behind me. Her solution "just keep tucking it under throughout the night" LMAO she was serious!! I would not recommend her services. Not only is her work very shoddy but she is very abrupt eg. I had a ten o'clock appointment, showed up early, first thing she said to me "I have another appointment in 20 minutes so you need to be gone by then, I only have space for one" seriously! Oh and you will never get ahold of her when you call, straight to voice mail every time. The whole thing was extremely unprofessional and a horrible experience. read more

I had a horrible experience with Absolute Alterations. I went in to get a few pairs of jeans altered and the two older ladies that work there could not have been more rude. They were very demeaning and treated me like a crazy person for the way I wanted to alter my clothes. When I went back to pick up the jeans they were not hemmed correctly. So, I went back so they could fix them for me and they argued with me, told me I was too picky and that altering my jeans that way looks horrible. I was very offended and when I left and had almost made it home they called me and told me to come back to the store because what I wanted looked ugly. I went back a week later for the fifth time to finally pick up my jeans and when I got home to try them on they hadn't changed them at all from the first time they had done them wrong. It was also very overpriced. I have never been treated so poorly by an alterations company and I would NEVER go back or recommend them to anyone. read more
