I used a tiny purse for feminine products and the older gentleman at the door was holding his small paper over it, trying to judge if it was small enough. It was right at the limit, but obviously not huge. He almost sent me back to the car with it. Another woman next to me was turned away with her larger purse. So be mindful to keep it small!

Once again, local, national, and even international performances I have watched comedic acts here... including the owner as well as famous acts I have watched movies here I have come here for film and discussion events My grandson has taken acting classes I have attended photo and art exhibits, as well as demonstrations There may be other opportunities that I am missing, but I have had the pleasure to attend many interesting events at this venue. Not only did they have a live orchestra performing the music, but they had quality vocal mikes, lighting and a great sound system. Plus, the chairs are very comfortable. The playhouse performs year-round with a new show about every 2 months. Some are new, some are edgy, some are humorous, and some are classics.

The staff was friendly and welcoming, the seats were comfortable and were not cramped -- we were in the second row left. We felt like we were on stage. I didn't use the ladies' room or visit the bar, which I was told is a beautiful copper bar. 4 stars instead of 5 because the act itself was not of the caliber I expected. Perhaps it was a one-off. I look forward to returning again if I am in the area.

There was ample parking all around, there was free food left over from the VIP tent, cash bar, great seating (three rows of stadium seating for an intimate gathering) and some table seating in the front, and great performers. I was very excited to learn of the venue and hear some great live music to continue to great energy of the jazz festival. The story line was easy to follow and the actors were spectacular. Parking is available off street or across the street at the Phoebe's lot for a fee. There is a concession stand and bar inside that offers candy, snacks, coffee, and alcoholic drinks (even a special creation for whatever play is showing). Had my first visit to Syracuse Stage last night to see the Jason Alexander directed Last Five…read moreYears! This review is for the venue/theatre itself and not the show. As a regular theatre-goer here in Rochester, I was SUPER excited to finally check out Syracuse Stage. They do co-productions with our LORT theatre Geva, and I have heard great things. The venue itself is classy, well maintained, with reasonable prices on everything from snacks to wine to tickets. Every staff member I interacted with was SO friendly. Special shoutout to the AMAZING box office staff! I had a conflict come up for my original show date and they exchanged me into a new date - no questions asked. At many theatre's, you have to pay an exchange fee or exchanges are only allowed for subscribers. That kind of accommodation will keep me coming back the next time they are doing a can't miss show (helllllo Amadeus next season!) Thank you to them for being so helpful and easy to work with! Even though the show I saw was not my cup of tea, I look forward to coming back and deeply appreciate them bringing high level talent to the upstate/central NY area. We are SO lucky to have a rich theatre scene, and Syracuse Stage is worth the special trip up from Rochester if there's something you're keen on seeing!
