Ben rocks. He is the Houdini of Locksmiths. He re-keyed my lock from a doorknob that I brought from home in what seemed like seconds and made 4 new keys to go with it. The price was very reasonable and service was friendly. Afterwards I accidentally pulled the cylinder out of the door knob and lost some springs and pins that were used to rekey the lock. Ben helped me search for and find some of the tiny pins and springs, and then again inserted some new pins as well to match the new keys for the lock at no extra charge. It was my fault, but he stayed and helped correct my mistake and get the lock fully functional again before I left. He goes above and beyond the call of duty. We had to get the cylinder on the lock exchanged in order to get back into the house, So it was a bit pricey (250 USD) but hey, what can you do. So a little back story, I had to find a locksmith because it was Saturday evening and my truck wouldn't start. It was because the prior evening I was trying to set up a couple key fobs I bought from Amazon, and I NEEDED my truck working Monday morning. I went to their little shop in Laguna Niguel for a new battery for my car key. Not only did they take care of me quickly, but the cost was reasonable. So I had them come out to rekey my whole house. They also replaced an old deadbolt and doorknob. Their work was great overall, but the doorknob was problematic. When I let them know, they took care of it immediately. Absolute Locksmith is amazing. I first called the company about six years ago to install a keypad lock on the school where I work. Ben came out and helped me choose the appropriate lock for the use we needed. Ben ordered the lock, came back out and installed it, and programmed the lock. Once he was finished, he went through the steps of everything that I would need to do to reprogram it if I wanted to change the code. This morning, I phoned Ben's company because I needed assistance with my keypad. When I tried to program it I didn't do it properly. Ben phoned me back and when he heard what I needed help with, he actually pulled over his vehicle and walked me through what I needed to do. My problem was resolved within five minutes! I have used Absolute Locksmith a few times over the past few years and Ben always comes and helps me with whatever I need. He is fast, accurate, and extremely helpful. Thanks for the lesson on highway robbery! Their prices seemed comparable and the quality of the work was good. However, the technician showed up over an hour later than promised. The dispatcher kept assuring us that the guy was just minutes away every time we called. In hindsight, we should've just called someone else. During his explanation of prices, the technician mentioned that the charge for the entry door would actually be higher due to some distinct feature, which wasn't a problem. He then quoted us for extra keys and we declined the multiple copies. He rekeyed an entry door and two side doors pretty quickly. As the technician worked, we asked to confirm what the total would be so we could make sure we had enough cash on hand. After payment, he presented a written receipt which included a charge for extra keys, which we had said we did not want! We brought the oversight to his attention and he decreased the total by $6, but somehow in his shuffling of the cash, managed to keep an extra $20 bill! Way to sneak yourself a tip! read more

When we found ourselves locked out of our house, we called Absolute Locksmith. They arrived in less than a half hour. Their ad said they were a dealer of Schage locks, which we have. We were given a quote of $50 to come out and open a " basic" lock. The man could not get our lock opened, and had to use " pumps" to open the lock. We were not told that it would be extra for doing this. He wrote up our invoice for $144 (triple the estimate). After much discussion, he lowered the price to $75 plus $5 tax. We feel we should have been told if there was going to be additional charges before the work was started. read more

Beware. I occur with the other reviews. Guys with a drill. My bathroom door got locked. They quote you one price before they come, one price before the job and one price after they do the job. First it was $45 plus $29' then it was$120. Final price $165 just to drill a hole in the lock. Suggest you call someone else. read more

we were quoted one price over the phone and after the service was complete it tripled. A month a half after having our doors re-done by them, it stopped working and we were unable to use the door. When we called to have them come out, they said they said it would cost more money and that it was not covered in the 90 day warranty. I have to say I was wrong about Absolute Locksmith. Ben did try and reach me but was he calling the wrong number and they do have a shop right in Laguna Niguel. We finally connected and I was immediately put as ease knowing he was going to work with me to make me happy. I wanted Schledge because I wanted a lock that was bump key proof. Ben educated me and of course I verified nearly every lock sold to most retail consumers, Schledge and most others can be easily opened with a bump key. I can't speak for everyone at the company, but Ben is the real deal - knowledgeable, professional, honest and a true craftsman of his trade. Bottom line I ended up spending almost three times more to get high quality locks installed and keyed that can't be bumped. He credited me back the money I spent initially and now I feel good about having good quality locks. Equally important, I found a local locksmith I can trust and will use again if needed. I feel bad about my first post but honestly that is how I felt at the time. Happy to say I was wrong. read more
