Tony's was always my "go to" local locksmith over the past 30 years. Recently, I encountered very good customer service and a reasonable quote upon calling. But when the locksmith showed up and quoted a breakdown of all services at a higher cost, he became impatient and irritated, acting like his time spent was more precious than sorting the discrepancy between what he was quoting us verses our quote on the phone. He indicated that in order for him to even show up would be more than the entire service and what we thought we were quoted had to be wrong. I was stuck as this had to happen that day! So after confirming our initial quote was accurate with customer service, we got exactly what we needed at the initial price quoted - but could have done without the drama. read more

We had Tony's rekey our house. All new locks that had different keys. Our experience was positive from start to finish. Kiernan was our locksmith. He was awesome! He sincerely wanted our job to work out well. There were some issues with our locks, but he worked through them and everything worked out great! My husband and I just moved in from out of state yesterday. It was 6:30 am and we were both in the garage looking for something and the door to the house locked! No hide a key anywhere. These guys are nothing short of awesome! I was trying to get some hard-to- produce key copies for a lockset on a boat built in Europe. I could not find a source for the blanks, even from "Hafele America". Eric at Tony's was able to match the blank from the many that they have in stock. So happy with the service! I called yesterday afternoon after our garage was broken into. Tony told me, they are happy to install but it will take more time if they sell me the door knob and lock. If I want it tomorrow- they tell me exactly what I need AND that I can buy it at ACE hardware. I was off to ACE as soon as I got off the phone and saw Tony the next morning. Awesome! I'm not a regular reviewer. As a business owner for many years, I expect great service so even when given, I normally thank and pay the provider and move on. But Tony's service is so exemplary (especially this last time) that I felt I needed to say something :) Today's was the 3rd time I called on these guys over the last 6 years, and all services provided were top notch, fair and honest. Jordan was the locksmith who responded today. I expected that he would have to replace lock with a remote unlocking device that was installed on a gate by a fencing company that was always problematic and the original installer couldn't get it right on several try's. Jordan figured it out, realigned the original lock and has it working perfectly. Price was fair - he actually saved me the expense of a new lock - I can't speak highly enough of Jordan and Tony's Locksmith! This is the first time that I've written a Yelp review, but I was so pleased with this business that I felt that I needed to do this. I called this morning and the person who answered correctly diagnosed the problem with my door lock. At his suggestion, I removed the lock from the door, brought it to them and they replaced the broken part. This was my second visit to Tony's and, both times, I was very pleased with the quick service, expert advice, friendly people (and English Bulldog named Tony) working there and, what seemed to me to be reasonable costs. San Clemente had an unexpected power outage that the Internet said would last until 4:30 PM. Unfortunately, we had been on a bicycle ride when the power outage started, and we were not able to use our garage keypad to get back into the house, so we needed someone who specialized in lockouts. Really liked my initial meeting with these guys (Eric). We had a several location need for a commercial quote and they promptly sent out a tech and repaired one of our locations locks, did a site visit at the other locations and promised to provide a quote for the other locations within a few days. Several weeks later and multiple emails, texts and voicemail back and forths with continued apologies and commitment still no response and we had to move on. After a couple of failed attempts over the phone. Saw a Tony's Locksmith's van at a commercial building which they were re-keying some cabinet locks. When I called for an estimate, they were happy to explain the cost, time length of the work, and when the locksmith would arrive. They setup a 2-hour window and Eric arrived within the time slot. He efficiently worked on getting us new locks and keys made. There was even a lock that seemed damaged but Eric added some lubricant and it worked like new. Great tip from one of their locksmiths: if you're getting work done on your place (for example: construction), then get re-keying done afterwards since some people will just give their spare key to contractors while doing errands or working. read more
