The woman working both days I needed help was very friendly and helpful! She saved me a bunch of money from having to go to the dealership to get a new key cut for my 2019 Toyota. Granted, I had done a lot of the heavy lifting by getting the key programmed and put together but the final step was to get the old key cut on a new key fob and everywhere told me this wasn't something they did and I was starting to feel hopeless. After a quick call they told me to come by and if they couldn't do it there they could send a technician to me (which would cost extra but still reasonable). Called for quote, woman seemed distracted but quoted $20 service charge and I thought I heard $47 to open a locked front door. Requested she send a technician. Technician arrived in a truck labelled '365 Locksmith'. When I mentioned that this was not the company I had called to do business with, gentleman said they frequently referred business. Price was $20 service and $115 for the unlock service. Receipt issued by '24/7 Locksmith'. I'm grateful they were able to open the door without damaging anything, but will likely not do business with any of these companies. She used an example too, if you locked your keys in your car, and it took seconds for the technician to unlock your car it would still cost $99 dollars. She credited the service fee of $25.00. I had to have my house re-keyed, as well as my garage door re-programmed and now need to have my house re-keyed again. (not due to workmanship). I am shocked as I look back at what I paid Absolute Locksmith to do this job. I had 2 knobs changed (which was not authorized, the quality of knob was sub-standard compared to my previous knobs) as well as my garage door re-programmed and they charged me $1000.00 - I had to pay it because the work was done but as I realize today with similar work has to be performed how taken advantage of I was with Absolute Locksmith. He never provided a quote to start the work and just started ripping off the hardware (when he was not asked to do this). I am so disheartened that I was treated this way because there was not a man in the home. Absolute could make every excuse in the world about these charges but it really comes down to their greed. Please do not use them, especially single women out there. I am now educated on what the realistic costs associated with this job. I am disgusted with them. My daughter recently had her entire house re-keyed because of a new purchase and it costs her $200.00. In an effort to be cautious I locked my house door behind me as I walked 30 feet or so around the corner to get the mail. It was already dark - darned time change! This place is an absolute rip off. The woman in the shop quoted a $150. For a $20. job. We already had the locking mechanism and needed a little help. We went to Tony's in San Clemente. They did the job. Then Ben the owner/manger replied to my post that I must know the people from the other locksmith and it is in the next city farther from my house.?? Look at all my reviews. Almost all of them are 5 stars. Sometimes it doesn't work out that way. An owner/manger should apologize not disclaim a negative review. That makes the company look good and the customer understand. I will never go back here, ever. This was the worst experience with any locksmith I have ever had. They broke my, formerly-waterproof, $450 motorcycle top-box while it was in their possession. They refuse to acknowledge that they broke it. The person who called me, Ben, yelled at me like a man-child and refused to give me his last name when asked. The front desk even acknowledged that sometimes the technicians "break things and leave it for them to deal with." I will be taking further action in relation to this incident.
