During a stressful and panicked remediation emergency, I used Yelp to request bids. Brian was quick to respond, exceptionally kind, and gracious with his time. Although he couldn't get a team to my location that same day, he offered to jump on a video call to assess the damage remotely. In a crisis, having an expert willing to guide you--even if they aren't the ones on-site--is invaluable. We had a water leak in our house that caused mold to grow in the crawl space. I contacted several mold remediation companies for inspection and John and Absolute Maintenance were the only ones to fully inspect the issue and actually identify that the mold had gotten into the inside of the house as well. The other companies did not even bother to check and only inspected the crawl space even though it was obvious the mold had gotten inside the house. They priced their services very fairly (better than the other quotes I received) and communicated quickly. They were also transparent about the problems identified and did not try to up charge or add on any unnecessary services to increase the bill. Their work was spectacular and they resolved the mold problem quickly and efficiently. They were able to fully exterminate the mold in the crawl space as well as the mold that had gotten inside the walls of the house. Their workers were very respectful and communicative about their work and progress. They left the work area even cleaner than it was before they started. I had an issue with water intrusion through a smooth stucco wall following the rainy winter season, and decided to pick Absolute to fix the issue because of their knowledge (spent lot of time back and forth over email explaining what they thought was going on), responsiveness (always heard back within the day if not sooner), and expected quality of work (based on reviews and word of mouth). I communicated primarily with John, who was patient in explaining everything and answering questions. Once the job started, Lazaro and his crew were prompt and detail oriented. They were meticulous in water testing to find all the points of intrusion, and patched up other potential points of failure. The job took 7 full days (expectation was 2-3 weeks) and the crew cleaned the work area up at the end of each day. These issues are not fun or cheap to deal with. I'd rather be doing something else. Admittedly, AMC faced a challenge: our 100-ft-long, 20-ft-high stucco-and-concrete wall, which bakes in the sun, had deteriorated after decades of water intrusion. Also, access to the job site was only via a neighboring gated property, which required extra attention to getting in and out. On the PLUS side, AMC got the waterproofing job done (well, almost completely) before the rainy season began. The principal helped us to identify a structural issue that our structural-engineer consultant had missed. He showed flexibility as we meanwhile arranged to handle that issue, and provided extra support when we needed it. Thus far, more than a year later, their work seems to have stood up to inclement weather. On the MINUS side, AMC repeatedly disregarded our neighbor's request for advance notice before showing up. The principal was difficult to reach throughout the job, and three times he did not show up when he said he'd be on site and I went to meet with him. He refused to do a final walkthrough meeting. His written communications were filled with promises but mostly vague and incoherent about the actual logistics and what was actually done. FOLLOW-THROUGH: After I kept pointing to two small, lingering problems, AMC came back out to fix one. Eventually they promised to take care of the other one, too, but that was more than 2 months ago. And they did none of the four 1st-year follow-up tasks that their office had told me were standard procedure and included in the price. read more

Absolute Maintenance did some extensive work under the house a couple of year's ago, so when I started smelling mildew in one of the kitchen cabinets, I knew who to call. John came out and did a very thorough inspection of almost the entire house. Within a day or two, we had recommendations and scheduled the work. Our house had been remodeled in 1993, but we left a small amount of original structure. As the job proceeded, they found problems we would have never known existed. They were able to fix multiple issues and test the areas they remediated. The work was high quality. They spent extra time matching the paint in our dining room. You cannot tell that anything was done. Cameron, John and the rest of the crew are so responsive, and seem genuinely invested in the satisfaction of the customer. They were flexible with our schedules and understood the need to make sure our dogs stayed in the house during the times they needed to go back and forth from inside to outside. Cameron also worked with us on the cost as he undestood that this large expense popped up just as my husband was about to retire. Since our house is now over 30 years old, we are going to have Absolute Maintenance come out on a regular basis to check the areas that were treated, and make sure everything looks solid. It is a great relief knowing we will have them on a regular basis to catch any potential issues before they become big problems. Update: Just to respond to Cam's response: it looks like he's trying to say I didn't pay on time which is 1000% false. The reason I posted this late is because I actually wrote this after the job. But it was saved in drafts. Going back to the work: guess what, the rain still came in the waterproofed areas. I also forgot to mention that his workers would often tell me they had less work to do and he asked them to stay to just continue charging by the hour. And paying himself since he literally spent 2 hours at my property through the course of three weeks of work. After his initial bid, he dropped a severe overage and blamed us for it. Blamed his software and claimed he could only do so much even though the estimate process he said how he had a special sauce. Again find other bids. I'd get one from him and take it to other vendors. Original review: They aren't for everyone. Cam will do all he can to make himself and his company be all over it but the truth is that Cam is several steps removed from his workers, he can't type so he relies on voice recognition software to dictate articulate responses to his clients , drives an over priced car to your site without actually doing any work that isn't over FaceTime with his employees (because he sees stuff his employees don't at a later than ideal time), and is always hounding for payment beyond the pay terms. He went over budget citing things he did as extra but in reality they were just things he should've done. He only wants his money and gives you advice of what he would do if you had more budget. He met me once and complained I didn't have a check for him at one point, saying he needs his payment asap. Listen, if he suites your tastes, go with him if you want a personality that seems intriguing enough cuz he can "sell" himself well. But honestly he isn't worth the premium other vendors can do. I've checked. I've had his worked double checked with other vendors and he doesn't have a special sauce. He tells you that but it's not true. Find other bids!!! read more

This review is long overdue. If you have a leak there is no one better than Cameron and Absolute Maintenance and Consulting. Trust me, I've used them several times and they are THE BEST at what they do. On my latest roof leak, Cam came to the house and spotted the water source in 30 seconds. He also showed me exactly where the water had traveled, where it was settling, where I had water damage, etc. I was skeptical at first because he was just looking at the exterior of the house but sure enough, when his team started the repair and pulled down the plaster and wood he was exactly right. I appreciated that Cam was always available for my calls and he was incredibly patient with my barrage of questions. He sent an estimate that was very thorough and the total cost ended up almost to the penny of what he originally quoted me. I hate spending money on home repairs and this particular repair was not cheap but Absolute Maintenance and Consulting guarantees their work. Absolutely outstanding work. Easily one of the best companies I've ever dealt with when talking with contractors in the Los Angeles area. We had a flooding that more or less turned a good section of our condo's inner walls into an aquarium with extensive mold damage. Absolute, not only was able to take on the job during the holidays, but did the job completely in about 3 weeks from start to finish. We didn't have to deal with an army of contractors or the need of constant check-ins. Afterwards it looked better than before with perfect plumbing, drywall, and no mold. I recently had a mold situation in my apartment and my building went the handyman route instead of hiring a professional company, so I wanted a second opinion from someone I felt like I could trust. I have a toddler and I'm pregnant, so I was kinda freaking out that I was breathing in mold, so they sent us to a hotel. I told them that I didn't want to go back until I had a third party look at the test results and confirm that it was safe to do so. That's when I went on the hunt for a company I could trust. I reached out to Absolute and immediately Brittany responded, answered some of my questions and told me it would be a 24-48 hour turnaround for their response once I sent them the reports. We finally got the results and we were cleared to go back. I sent them that night to Brittany, so she could verify for us and Cam responded the next morning with a very thoughtful, educational and sweet email. I asked some follow up questions and he again, immediately responded. One of the last lines of his email read: "In this business, it is a family owned business, so we treat everyone as if they are our family. If not, at least a close family friend." I cannot say enough good things about Cam and his absolute maintenance team. We live in a newly built home and our builder didn't properly seal the house and we had water damage throughout our home. Absolute maintenance has saved us twice. I first found cam through Yelp. Read every review and called his company and spoke with Brittney who was so kind and walked me through the whole process. Cam, the owner of absolute maintenance, called me and addressed all my concerns, was able to identify all the water damage issues through pictures alone. Cams team was incredibly professional and safe. They wore masks 100% of the time. Finished the job in a timely manner and walked me through everything. We had another leak thanks to our builder doing a shotty job. Unfortunately our leak happened in the midst of my fiancé and I sick with Covid. Cam created a protocol for his employees to operate safely in our home and still be able to fix our leak. Absolute maintenance employees set up decontainment zones, wore hazmats suits, respirators and spent a week fixing our problem. Cam kept us updated daily and the job was done incredibly well. No other company would dare step foot in a home with people with Covid and Cam showed up and made it happen. Once the job was done and we recovered from Covid, Cam's team showed up to industrially clean our home to rid any surfaces of Covid. We are eternally grateful. The service we got was above and beyond! I usually do not write that many reviews, but only do for those deserving the very best. We were having problems with a neighbor upstairs. It got so bad that our ceiling was leaking and it looked like torrential rain was coming down from a leak. The property manager came in and said "nothing was wrong."
