Absolute Maintenance and Consulting is absolutely a 5-Star company. From my initial contact with Daisy in the office, to the workers, to the supervisors (Evan for the waterproofing of our roof and removal of damaged drywall, and Frankie, for the interior finishing), to the owners of the company, we knew we were in good hands. We had a giant, colossal leak in our ceiling when it rained last winter. Absolute Maintenance performed a detailed and technical evaluation to determine the exact causes and locations of our leaks. We were surprised to find that our chimney was one of the sources! Then they waterproofed our entire roof and HVAC system which is on our roof. Both have been a source of leaks for several years, and we had never been able to find the root causes of all that! Finally, they set up a carefully sealed area to remove damaged drywall, do mold remediation and reconstruction.b In doing all of this, they found rotting wood that had undoubtedly been there for several years! The very next day, they had the rotting 2'x 4's removed and replaced! That was amazing! After that, they installed new drywall and painted the entire room and ceiling. All of this huge job was done by them, without the need to find other contractors. Not only that, they are for sure, the most tidy and neat workers we have ever had in our house. They honestly left our living room in better shape than they found it! The best part about this company was their communication. The day I called them, Daisy was able to explain their scope of practice in detail and tell me if they would be able to help us. She continued to find answers for me whenever I had a question throughout the job, even staying late at the office until she had an answer for me! Evan was great at communication, also. Every single day that they worked, he told me exactly what they would be doing. Frankie did the same, keeping me apprised of what they were doing and always when they would be finished. The owners gave us a detailed evaluation of our problem and a very detailed estimate, including costs for unforeseen problems. This helped us immensely in budgeting for this job, but they were very reasonable and this cost us far less than we expected. Also, we can't put a price on knowing that the job was done right and that we finally have long lasting and guaranteed solutions for our leaking ceiling! In summary, this was an exemplary company. We paid this company around $15,000 to waterproof a converted garage in Sherman Oaks that we were using for storage. Sure enough, the waterproofing failed. Today I called to inquire about the warranty. The woman I spoke with said there was no warranty. I asked if they would at least offer some discount on remediation, based on the fact that we paid so much money for the prior work. She advised that they would have to bill us $400 to come inspect the property to give us a quote. I became frustrated and told her what she could do with her offer. One of the owners called me back immediately and informed me that I wouldn't dare speak to him that way in person because of the physical harm he could do to me. I informed him that if he came over, I'd be happy to say those things to him in person. At which point he assured me that he would injure me given that I was a "little b!+c#." He continued to call me any number of names, made threats and said he didn't want to hear anything else from me and that I better "check myself before I wreck myself." I strongly feel that no one should work with this company, not just because of the poor quality of their work and their inflated prices, but because it appears that if there is ever a disagreement about the work, and you bring it to their attention, you may actually put yourself in physical danger by at least one of the owners of the company. I've included some photos in case anyone is wondering what their $15,000 waterproofing looks like. Buyer beware...! In response to Cameron's response. My wife's name was on the invoice. And there's no way I'm going to allow these guys to talk to my wife that way. She was in the room with me when I spoke with them. These guys are awful, they are threatening my personal safety and now they are completely denying what they did. I truly hope anyone out there exercises caution when dealing with them. I can't believe they are alleging deniability based on the fact that my name was not on the invoice. Well, my money went into their pockets, regardless of whose name is on the invoice. So how about you guys give me my money back? Way to man up, bro. Additionally, the logo and trademark on my paid invoice are identical to the logo and trademark on their website. I'd also like to add that I have a law degree. It's completely absurd to suggest that I'm "confused" about the company I've been dealing with. I assure you, I'm not. Lastly, it's important to note that the owner isn't denying that the $15,000 was paid, or that the waterproofing failed, or that the co-owner I spoke with threatened me with physical harm. He's merely stating that he "doesn't show anyone with my name in his records for the last 5 years." So, does he show my name as of 5 years and 1 month ago? These guys were great. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive, but they did comprehensive work to seal up a leaking deck problem that other guys couldn't solve. I had an issue with water intrusion through a smooth stucco wall following the rainy winter season, and decided to pick Absolute to fix the issue because of their knowledge (spent lot of time back and forth over email explaining what they thought was going on), responsiveness (always heard back within the day if not sooner), and expected quality of work (based on reviews and word of mouth). I communicated primarily with John, who was patient in explaining everything and answering questions. Once the job started, Lazaro and his crew were prompt and detail oriented. They were meticulous in water testing to find all the points of intrusion, and patched up other potential points of failure. The job took 7 full days (expectation was 2-3 weeks) and the crew cleaned the work area up at the end of each day. These issues are not fun or cheap to deal with. I'd rather be doing something else. Absolute Maintenance did some extensive work under the house a couple of year's ago, so when I started smelling mildew in one of the kitchen cabinets, I knew who to call. John came out and did a very thorough inspection of almost the entire house. Within a day or two, we had recommendations and scheduled the work. Our house had been remodeled in 1993, but we left a small amount of original structure. As the job proceeded, they found problems we would have never known existed. They were able to fix multiple issues and test the areas they remediated. The work was high quality. They spent extra time matching the paint in our dining room. You cannot tell that anything was done. Cameron, John and the rest of the crew are so responsive, and seem genuinely invested in the satisfaction of the customer. They were flexible with our schedules and understood the need to make sure our dogs stayed in the house during the times they needed to go back and forth from inside to outside. Cameron also worked with us on the cost as he undestood that this large expense popped up just as my husband was about to retire. Since our house is now over 30 years old, we are going to have Absolute Maintenance come out on a regular basis to check the areas that were treated, and make sure everything looks solid. I had an exceptional experience with Cameron Figgins and his crew. I needed water remediation due to a broken pipe that flooded my kitchen . The flooding also left me with mold issues, and ruined cabinets. I had several quotes, many questionable and unaffordable. I chose Absolute. I had a horrid smell coming from somewhere in my home, but since I haven't lived here for long, and the one-story house is small, I wasn't sure where to start looking for the source. I asked a couple people who claimed they would figure it out so I could then contact the appropriate company to fix the issue. Nobody could figure out the issue. I stumbled upon Absolute maintenance and Consulting by default, but was so pleasantly surprised after speaking with Cameron. He was friendly, yet professional and the service was prompt. The team was quick to come out and inspect my home, figuring out within the first ten minutes what the problem was and where it was rooted. Turns out I had a small leak in a pipe that was stemmed from my garbage disposal. Since the small leak had been existing for a while, there was water accumulating beneath my home. Due to this issue, another problem arose. The team did some mold inspection, and sure enough it was everywhere and mold removal was necessary. They found the problem fast, worked professionally, were very nonintrusive in my home(to the best of their ability), and i felt they provided high quality work.
