ABW continues to impress. I have an E91 (2010 328i Touring) with a hopped up 335i engine transplant, upgraded suspension, aftermarket cat & muffler, etc. etc. purchased from a Chicago-based BAT seller. The car runs like Jack the Bear (thanks ABW!) and yet the non-BMW cat and muffler causes the beast's self-diagnosis to throw an error code and display the check engine light. ABW's factory OBD scanner doesn't want to clear the code (unless I go back to a stock cat). I brought over my aftermarket OBDII scanner to ABW, and they showed me how to use it to clear the code and get rid of the check engine light, no charge. ABW rocks! read more

My BMW Z3, 6 C, with 54,000 miles had never been serviced, Oil changes yes. Amber took it from that, changed all fluids, changed plugs and added special software upgraded for the 1997 Z3. This car was fast to start with, but now I have 5 to 10% more power. I left rubber on a turn from 1st to 2nd gear, never had this much power. I bought my used 2013 X3 and immediately took it to them to verify that no immediate repairs were needed. They found a minor issue that they fixed for a reasonable price. Car shop specializing in BMW's. Greatest repair shop I've been to. I've owned different types of cars including a Honda, Ford and Acura but I love my bimmer. Knowing about this hidden gem of a car shop I'll be able to keep my car for years and years. You drive up to the place and it's somewhat obscure. You know when your at the right place because they usually have several BMW's parked on the street. You go inside and walk right into the repair shop. Then to the left is the waiting area/office. It's not much of a waiting area and is far from lavish. It's strictly a repair shop. There's a lady usually in the office that is VERY helpful. I forgot her name but she knows her stuff about cars! and being a female myself makes me feel comfortable talking to her. She's very good about calling you before any work is started to give costs and answer any questions. I never feel rushed when I call this place. I was worried when I first bought my car that it would be costly to maintain especially buying a used car. However, the prices at this place seem to be pretty reasonable. They don't try and sell you stuff you don't need. Everyone is very honest! I bought a used 2006 BMW 325xiT in April of this year, and unfortunately, have had a number of issues come up with the car. That said, my experience with fixing my car has never been so pleasant and I am fortunate to have Absolute Motor Works as my mechanic for my BMW. The first thing I noticed about this shop is their customer service -- they treat you like family -- from the interaction on the phone, to their complimentary shuttle service to the train stations, this doesn't feel like a typical mechanic shop. So far, AMW has replaced my front brakes and calipers, control arm bushings (which completely fixed the shaking in the car), and worked seamlessly with my 3rd party warranty company to get my water pump replaced and fix a window regulator at minimal cost to me (just had to pay the deductible). Right now, my car runs 10x better than it did when I first bought it and I feel like it is in good hands to last me another 100k miles. They are upfront and will prioritize your issues so you can make thoughtful decisions about the maintenance of your BMW. read more

Great company, great to work with. My transfer case on my 2011 X5 failed. As its warranty had just expired, Murray BMW wanted to charge me almost 6k to replace. I was able to find a replacement transfer case online for $2200 and the folks at absolute told me to have it shipped to them and they promptly installed the new case for slightly less than a grand, saving me almost $3k! They have also done work on other BMWs over the years for our family. Always nice, always fair price. I highly recommend. read more

I can't say enough good things about Absolute. We first used them in 2007 to service our 1995 BMW (just an oil change) and they have always been wonderful.
