Brought my 335 in because it would dump into limp mode with a low pressure fuel sensor and low boost engine codes. These guys talked me into spending $4k on new injectors and the codes and limp mode came back almost immediately on the drive home from the shop. Took it to a different shop and found a torn intercooler seal and replaced the low pressure fuel sensor which solved all the issues. I feel stupid to have been duped so bad. We used to LOVE German Car Shoppe. e went there since 2018. I don't trust them now with the new manager. LONG story short, we took our Audi in last August for an issue and after over $4200 later we decided to do the "diagnostic" test later for another issue. Late October I went back for the diagnostic and got a "bait & switch" from the new manager. I was informed that the diagnostic was already done in August but never told about it (or charged) at that time. The new charge was also going to be twice the cost. I have receipts and text message regarding this issue. Yesterday I visited the Audi Dealership up the way on Broadway where we will probably take our Audi for the issue. ALSO, I learned that this Audi dealership will give a 25% discount for any Audi over 10 years old!!! If the previous managaer was still at GCS we would return. This shop use to be good, until the owner passed away and the wife took over. Do NOT use this shop!! There was a person working there, won't say who, but the person did repair work on the side, at the shop. I paid to have my car repaired. Months later, brought my car to a place to get an oil change, and was informed that someone slapped tape on my axel boot. Never performed the repair. The person who allegedly repaired my car is no longer with the company. I reached out to Sue, who is the owner and showed her all my documentation, that the work was performed in HER shop, she stated she would honor the mistake and get my car taken care of. I was not the only person this happen to, as I was informed. Then the next day has the new manager call me to tell me they are not going to honor their word and repair my car. I have taken my cars here a few times and their prices are reasonable so I won't argue with that. I have just had a personal feeling that there has always been something "off" about getting my car back. The first time I took my car in for an A service and I got it back and the radiator fluid low warning kept going off. They said it was because they had the radiator line off and so air bubbles were being created. My understanding is that their is just a fluid level check and I'm not sure why the line was off, also not a great feeling to get your car back and a fluid check goes off 10 min after leaving the lot. Now granted this was like 4 years ago so things could have changed since then. Another time, about 3 years, took my car in for a service and the air filters weren't replaced. They said they checked them and they were fine and didn't need to be replaced. I personally replaced the air filters on the car when they needed to be replaced and would have liked the option for them to replace them. I picked up the car and they told me everything was done and didn't replace the filters. I decided to do another A service with recently, a few months ago. This time the service was fine but my parking sensor kept going off in my car and not working. I asked them to take a look at it and they told me that the sensor wasn't going to work because it was scratched. Personally I thought this was weird because I would think a car manufacturer would know the front of the car is going to get scratched with rocks and dirt so why wouldn't the sensor work? I ended up taking my car into the dealer, where they actually replaced the front sensor because it was causing and electrical short. Not because it was scratched... All that being said, I have taken my cars there a few times because they do have good prices but I personally might begin shopping around. read more

I've been to this shop before and was happy with their service, but my latest appointment assured I will never use them again. I took it in because the alternator wasn't charging and they replied that it needed to be replaced. I wanted to purchase my own OEM alternator to save $400 over their estimated price, but they wouldn't use customer supplied parts. No problem, I have another shop that would, so I told them I would pick it up. They charged me almost $200, for looking at the dash that indicated low voltage. This included $18 for "incidentals". They said that included a 10% shop supplies add on they include with every repair. All they did was look at the dash. I would have been ok with a 1/2 hr minimum fee, but a full hour and that extra fee was ridiculous. And they didn't even bother topping off the battery and the car died halfway home. I had to waste a half a day and recruiting a family to come and charge the battery so I could make it home. They showed me they were more interested in squeezing as much $ from me as they could, not interested that I had spent thousands on past repairs on that car and the Porsche I previously owned. Never again. I'm taking my business to 5280 Motorsport. They are a much better value and they've demonstrated they are more interested in repeat customers than collecting as much as they can with every repair. read more

You can't go wrong with The German Shoppe if you own a VW. On more than one occasion, they have been able to diagnose the mistakes that other mechanics created during my RV travels. Another mechanics created short by reversing the wiring after replacing a sensor. Then just gave up on resolving the issue that they created. Even a certified VW dealer couldn't resolve it and left me with my oil light and alarm screaming at me for for over 1,000 miles until I could get back to The German Shoppe where they were able to correctly diagnose and repair the short within hours of dropping it off. I'm not going to completely slam this shop for the latest experience as my intention is to be as fair as possible. They won't get a 5 for reasons bulleted below, but they are not going to get a 1 either as they didn't earn that. I have had nothing but a great experience with this shop with my 03 SL500. As the car make and model suggests, it requires a lot of professional work. But on the last trip to the shop the customers service was deplorable. I don't know if they are under new management but the client/vendor interaction left so much to be desired. Pros: fixed what I asked them to fix, took responsibility when they broke the window and replaced it without any additional costs or labor. Communicated all recommendations and warnings concerning aux battery. Final price was spot on the quoted price. Cons: (on this last experience only) gave me three estimates on when the car would be ready, none of them were accurate. One estimate was two days, went to a week, the next was same day, three days later, finally they said it gets done when it gets done. They called me twice in two weeks for a status update 1)when they broke the glass, (I'm not worried about that, it happens and they took responsibility) 2) when the car was finished. I'm used to a closer and more frequent dialogue with this shop. MB Clinic in Aurora is a great shop for open and frequent status and communication updates. MB Clinic also offers a loaner car and has picked us up and dropped us off so many times I can't count. This shop never offered a loaner or a ride once. Here is the clincher: My wife went to pick up the car and expressed her displeasure with the service and German cars in general. The shop contradicted her at every turn. When I talked to the shop they told me that he told "whoever it was that picked up the car" about the auxiliary battery issues. Sirs, you know exactly who that was, if you thought that slam was subtle, it wasn't, and neither is this review. I never doubted the shop's competency. But I don't know what happened to your customer service. I'm a laid back guy but don't ever talk to me or my wife like we're your buddies out back over the BBQ. I own a 2012 Porsche Cayenne that suddenly, while driving on I-25 displayed an series of alarming dash warnings re coolant and engine overheating, etc. I got off the highway and took it to the nearest Porsche Audi dealer who looked at the car, said I had developed a leak in the coolant reservoir connection that required replacement and that ,unfortunately, the work requires that the engine be dropped from the frame so that the leak could be repaired effectively! Long story short, the labor ALONE was quoted at $3500. I am not a mechanic, but I am not an idiot. That estimate was either grossly dishonest, or grossly incompetent, but more than likely both. A Mecedes Benz (only) Repair Shop near my home effusively recommended The German Car Shoppe as the go-to repair facility in all of Denver for any german car, without question. it was described as "A family owned and operated shop whose quality of work surpassed only by their customer service and honesty. And I couldn't agree more. The service writers Ed and Grant are exceptional. After several smoke and pressure tests for leaks they could not detect the "leak" that the dealer wanted to drop my entire engine to repair. The car has over 101k miles and when I was told that possibly a small leak in the water pump may have caused the problem, I opted to replace the pump, at my insistence, not theirs. Long story short (again!) - that did not appear to address the problem and within days, the dash warnings returned. Ed asked that I bring the car back to them and they kept it for 2 days where they disassembled and reviewed then reassembled the entire cooling system and drove it for two days to make sure that it was OK... all of it at their expense. The car has been fine ever since. You may say that perhaps they corrected their own mistake, and maybe so. I am not a mechanic, but even so, in a service oriented industry that suffers from a lack of integrity and honesty -standing by one's work and doing whatever it takes to make sure the customer is satisfied and fairly treated, is a far better (and rarer) quality to find nowadays than to end up dealing with those who guarantee to be infallible, each and every time. No one can, or should attempt to do that. They replaced an intercooler hose with a 3rd party inferior product. It failed 16 months after install. Warranty is 12 months. Hose was smaller diameter and had restrictive curves significantly reducing performance. No consideration given to address it. read more

Unfortunately, I don't have the right tools to do the job nor do I car to invest in them. Lucky for me the German Car Shoppe bailed me out and even used the parts that I had purchased. I talked to Ed on the phone and he , not only quoted a significantly lower price but suggested that I probably didn't need everything done. Great experience- went in with check engine light and they ran the computer and found a code and a service bulletin which they said Audi might fix it for fee. Went to the dealer (I usually avoid like the plague) and yes, they agreed and fixed for free! They also machined a new part for the clutch which is related to the start system which was having problems (it's a manual trans); anyway dealer said it would have been new clutch- easy 3k saved thanks again guys! read more

These guys are amazing! I was visiting a family member who lives in Leadville, CO all the way from Houston Texas. My Audi Q7 started acting really weird and would rev improperly and shift hard when I got up to Leadville. I decided to originally take it to the Audi dealership in Denver and they told me I needed to replace my timing chain for $7500. Because of this, I felt I needed to get a second opinion and ended up coming here. Ed is the guy who helped me and he was nothing but honest and friendly. He ran a diagnostic on my car and didn't charge me for it. He found out that I didn't need to replace the timing chain and it was most likely an altitude problem. He reset some codes and my car worked perfectly fine again on the ride from Denver to Houston over 16 hours. These people are honest. I told them Audi said I needed $7500 in repairs and showed them the diagnostic. Ed didn't care that he could have easily made a lot of money, but he cared that I was taken care of properly and knew that there was nothing wrong with my car. I wish these guys had a store in Houston, TX! I hope their company continues to gain customers and those who use them now or in the future know they found a great shop! read more

We have a 2003 C class that has about 132000 miles on it and began stalling and running poorly. We took it to our regular mechanic that worked on some of the issues but it still did not run great. I called the German Car Shoppe and was immediately impressed with their knowledge and customer service. I was given a loaner car for the week they had my car at no charge while the mechanic spent hours going through the car and resetting the computer and codes and the car runs great! John even met me to give me my car back . They were very reasonable with their rates and now I have confidence in my car again. Definite place to go if you have an import. I'm beyond ecstatic to have found German Car Shoppe! I have a 2003 VW GTI 1.8T and I've always had the problem of other shops telling me my car needed things fixed that it really didn't just to get more money. Here at German Car Shoppe, I experienced just the opposite. I went in thinking it had a major oil leak but the technician personally came out to explain that there was a minor (and normal) seep so he recommended that I get an oil change and add BG MOA to break down the gunk and reduce the seeping of the oil. They also replaced the windshield wiper fluid pump because it had frozen on my move from California. This is the first time in 10 years that the parts were more than labor! Ed sat and answered all my "girl" car questions patiently and they even offered to get me a breakfast burrito!
