I wanted to wait a while before posting a review to make sure I was still thrilled with my floors after I'd had time to wear them in. And yes indeed I am! The installer did a terrific job - he was earnest and methodical, cared deeply about doing his job properly, and made sure I knew the pros and cons of any decisions I was going to make. There was a lot of chaos on my end leading up to the installation, as when the installer took up the old floor, he discovered water underneath from an exterior leak. So the flooring install had to be delayed repeatedly over the next three months as my building management tried and failed to fix the leak. Absolutely Floored were patient and gracious about the delays, and were quick to schedule me back in once the walls were solid again and it was safe to lay the flooring. I've been living on the new floors for five months now and can't find a flaw in the work that was done. Everything is nice and crisp around the edges. The vinyl plank is great quality and feels lovely on the feet and seems to be able to hold up to a lot - it's nice not to worry about water damage. The leveling was also an extra challenge - the old floor was like a seesaw - and yet there's only two small pockets in the entire condo where you can feel any give at all. My only criticism was that the leveling cost ended up being considerably higher than the quote, but I also wasn't entirely surprised; I'd gotten another higher quote that had prepared me for that possibility. It's the biggest reno project I've ever had to deal with (okay, I'm a lightweight, but still...) and there were major ups and downs but I am very, very happy with the work that Absolutely Floored did and how they handled some tricky situations. Would absolutely recommend them.

    Hardwood in living room

I had my hardwood flooring done with this company and it turned out really well, the installer was polite and the project went on schedule. I would recommend this company.

I had a great experience looking at samples at the store followed by getting some new laminate installed in my home. Got amazing value!

I was very disappointed with this "company" and the owner. I booked new flooring for my condo and…read morebooked the installation day. I told the owner that the installation day needed to be guarantied as I was booking the week off and hired a replacement for my business. I also needed to have my son available to move all the furniture out of the rooms. When I called a few days before the installation to confirm, the owner Patrick said the installers were not available for the Monday but may be able to come on the Thursday. I made a fuss but no one showed up until the Thursday. I had to pay my replacement an additional 3 days and my son needed to leave town so I had to move everything on my own. when the installers came they said they had only been hired that Monday, not before. They were also not the original installers and I was never provided with their worksafe numbers etc. required by my strata. 3 installers showed up but only one did any work, they never showed up with the materials needed so they would leave for 1- 3hrs per day. My newly painted walls needed to be repainted because of all their hand prints on everything. I was charged an additional $1000 for leveling cement and the hallway was not properly leveled and now the boards are separating. After 4 days the installers wanted a day off even though the baseboards had not been installed. When they finally "finished" the installation, 2 closets wouldn't open and one couldn't close, trim and caulking not finished. So, someone else had to come to do the caulking that was missed. For weeks after the installers would call and say that the company was refusing to pay them. Patrick promised to complete the floor in my laundry and to pay for the baseboard heater installation but never came back. He refused to answer my calls and emails. I made a complaint to the BBB but Patrick never responded. He took down his website and disconnected the phone. Worst person I have ever dealt with.

Of course, you'll also have to tear off and relay the finish flooring, so this solution does take a fair amount of work And Patrick refuses to even come out and take a look, therefore fixing their slapstick poor work is out out if the question .

THEY CUT MY FRONT DOOR! I wasn't there when this happened. They didn't ask me or tell me afterwards. I've called and emailed over and over again and they have not fixed a thing. Horrible service. I regret paying for the job now because they no longer care about what they did. Also, the pulled the fire alarm. My strata sent me the bill for it and the contractors never told me about. In short, shotty workmanship and no communication. Not a business I would recommend working with. In fact, avoid.

The distributor refused to sell the hardwood we needed directly to us, forcing us to choose Mike's…read moreto do the job. Mike's arranged for Leo to do the work and after we arranged to be home during the week, he canceled same day, without notice. We set up another date, this time he shows up, removes the baseboard and carpet then determines the concrete is not level, which is true. We call Mike's for a quote to level this 9'x11' room and are told $800. Leo tells us Mike is ripping us off and says he'll do it for $500. We eventually agree and Leo comes back and levels the floor. The next day he returns and lays the hardwood, except that the very first board he puts down won't fit under the transition because he's raised the floor at least a quarter inch too high. Leo is such a hack that he continues the room figuring it's good enough. He proceeds to install boards that either he damaged, or were damaged before, without caring about the outcome. Upon examining the end result I discover what he's done. There's a large gap in the floor in very visible spot. Later when trying to work with Mike's to get a solution, Leo cancels again without notice. When he does show up, it's evening and I understand now, that he has no intent to help. He doesn't bring any tools, starts changing his story about what is possible to fix the problem and starts to get belligerent when questioned. Finally when I've had enough of Leo and how he is speaking to my wife and I, ask him to leave but he won't. When he does run away he doesn't take any paint sample with him which is necessary to match the transitions. I run down with the sample and he speeds away through a crosswalk, almost hitting my neighbor with his car. Leo then calls the police; I can only assume because he's worried the neighbor reported him. He provides the police an audio recording he made with his phone of entire time he's on my premises. He also tells the police that I chased and threatened him and tried to break the windshield of his car! As if this story isn't crazy enough, he also tell the police that he has a dash cam which shows me trying to break his windshield. Of course no such footage is ever produced. Why would a contractor show up on a job site without tools to do a job and secretly record the interaction while talking nonsense about what was possible and not possible? I am considering filing a small claims case against both parties to bring this to light and make each understand consumers have the right not to be ripped off, lied to, subjected to terrible service and harrased. Mike's hiring of immoral, incapable contractors is deplorable but that should come as no surprise when reading his reviews. You'll notice that most of Mike's reviews are obviously fake. Look at the number of past reviews made by the positive reviewers. They're hit and run reviews - fake accounts. This flooring was meant to be a gift from my wife, she had faith that Mike's was a reputable business. Good luck with Mike's. In my experience, you'll get a substandard job with obvious flaws and a ton of drama. His warranty is only as good as his character. I've not heard back from him. Happy to answer any questions to people considering this company.
