The Western approach - addictive pain pills, NSAID that destroys your guts, muscle relaxers that make me loopy. The result was always the same - the pain is masked but the underlying cause remains. I have dealt with this for nearly 4 years. When my back goes out I get lumbar shift - my entire upper torso shifts to the side and I have horrible nerve pain. It completely alters my life and limits what I can and can't do. At barely over 40 - this completely sucks. I have gotten so used to having my back go out and losing another weekend to back pain.
