After a site visit from the tech and our interest in a whole house fan cooling system we were told that a cost estimate would be provided with in a few days . However it's been almost three weeks and no estimate or any communication from the company. Therefore we decided to move on to another reputable company. Read the reviews before doing business. This is an addendum to my previous review pertaining to this company. After a meaningful dialogue with the business, I found that there was a error in communication, and the company has apologized and has rectified the situation. I am grateful for their sincerity and fairness in their response. Given the new circumstances I would give this company high value in service and responsibility. They rescheduled the install 3 times . When they finally showed up the installer was extremely rude and unprofessional. 3 days after installing new ac unit .. I noticed my whole attic was flooded . They installed the emergency drip pan incorrectly and never cleared the condensation drain pipe . They caused over $150k in damages . The owner Seb promised he would make it right and he won't respond to Texts and forwards my text to his insurance . My home now has visible mold and lots of water damage , it's unlivable .I would highly recommend not using this company . They will lie and do sloppy work. . They do not take pride in their work whatsoever . They'll send ex convicts with attitudes to do the install improperly . Then breach contracts to fix it. I recommend these guys whole heartedly! They installed a Mitsubishi heat pump for my home, which cost the same as a small mini split from other companies. I saw they did solar, so I asked them for a quote. They gave me multiple, cost effective bids, for no charge. (Unlike a local solar installer Chris love solar who should be avoided). These AC&R guys have worked with me to get the size of the system I want, The equipment I want,for a price that is extremely reasonable. I've had these guys install single mini-splits in 3 apartments and one house, and had them install a 3-cassette unit in another house. It's true that they can take a while to give a quote, but I keep going back for the quality of the work and equipment. Don't be hesitant to ping them if you are waiting for a quote, as that really isn't unusual in the trades. The quality has been worth it to me. read more

Scam Alert! I had their office call me with some ridiculous pricing for a replacement part and then was told it would be more cost effective replace the whole furnace. I priced out the part for a new valve as well as a new furnace, AC & R is grossly inflating the cost. PG & E came out and inspected the furnace and found nothing wrong with the furnace, the only issue was that the furnace needed it's reset button pushed. Redwood Heating was our trusted furnace and a/c installation and repair "go-to" for years. When we called Redwood for service several years ago the call went to AC&R. They indicated they were handling all of Redwood's accounts. We have just learned (and not from AC&R) that wasn't true. Ukiah AC&R bought Redwood Heating's phone number. We went ahead and used AC&R for a few service calls and felt the service was acceptable, although not to the high standard we appreciated with Gene from Redwood Heating. However, in those early calls AC&R's technician showed up on time and seemed honest and knowledgeable. Two years later we've had another service call and it seems to have gone downhill. The technician, Adrian, was obviously secretive in his phone calls to the office, ending a call abruptly when we walked out and walking a significant distance away for another call, speaking too quietly to be heard. Adrian also had an attitude and smirked as he argued with the information we gave him on the heating and a/c history of our house, insisting we were wrong. He gave us a high estimate...too high for us to be willing to take the risk that the diagnosis was incorrect. He left our family feeling he could not be trusted either in the diagnosis of the problem or the repair and we were not able to resolve the concerns by calling the office. Very poor customer relations. Did not stand behind the maintenance contract we had with their company. We started using them in 2019 but by 2020 they were dropping the ball. Used COVID as an excuse for everything. We tried to reach their office to discuss two invoices we had received. No one answered our many messages. Found them to continually be unprofessional, no administrative strengths- invoices are over four months late after the work has been performed which makes it difficult to verify with our office manager. Finally, our manager spoke to an individual there that was defensive and had no interest in assisting us. Overall, I don't believe they have been in business for more than a few years and with this attitude don't expect them to remain for much longer. read more

I live directly behind them and even though many folks in my complex have asked them to clean up their junk yard, they don't. Their junk yard house many rats and mice which my cat kills and brings home, all the time. Not to mention the fact that I had a broken AC which they 'repaired' only to have it not working again the next day. The first day I paid with a credit card and the second day, the guy said he had my card info and would charge it again. I didn't check, I just paid my card. Then they sent me a bill 8 months later saying that I never paid the first time. Unprofessional and disgusting rat filled mess. These guys are great - absolute professionals. Having moved to Ukiah a few years ago, I was surprised at how hard it is to get a good local tradesman to show up (on time or at all) and perform a decent job. For more than two years I've been trying to replace an inefficient heater going through the list of local suppliers. Some didn't even show when promised, others quoted ridiculous prices and others just didn't inspire confidence. With AC&R it was a completely different story. Mark Mobley turned up on time, spent time doing a thorough assessment, provided a reasonable quote and had his team do the installation. I had one small problem, which turned out to be my fault, called their offices, was greeted by a friendly and professional receptionist - and had the AC&R team on my doorstep within 15 minutes. Over a month ago, Mark Mobley, the Operations Manager for AC&R came to my home to discuss a heating and cooling system. He spent about an hour, taking notes and discussing options. He left, saying he would have a proposal for me "in a week or two." Since then, I have heard NOTHING, even though I'd emailed him shortly afterwards with some clarifications and questions. So, a few days ago, I called up. The young woman who answered the phone found my file (after a long wait on Hold), but said her computer was "acting crazy," and that she would call me back "right away." Again, NOTHING at all! I talked to another professional in a similar trade, but not a competitor. He said he hears these stories about AC&R all the time. He said, "I don't know how they can stay in business." I bought an air conditioning/heating unit in the fall of 2017 from AC&R, The sales representative suggested a place on the first floor for the inverter. I countered with a place upstairs. By November, when it began to get cold, I knew I had made a mistake. I called, emailed and begged Mark M. of AC&R to move the unit, admitted I had been wrong, and said I would pay for the move. Mark said he was busy. Apparently so busy that he never found time to return. I contacted Comfort Air, who explained the air flow in the house to me, and moved the inverter to the optimum position. Vaughn's team did great work with our new HVAC system. I had talked with a few people about moving our furnace but until Vaughn came over, no one could come up with a plan that worked. AC&R redesigned the layout of our system and was able to replace our furnace and move it and replace our clunky old ducts so they were less obtrusive to our home layout.
