AC Electric to come to my house for an outlet installation and it was a nightmare. From beginning to end. First visit Anthony sent one of his guys to see the room where the outlet was going to be installed and then the attic. Upon opening the attic, which is in my daughters room, all the insulation around the opening fell over my daughters clothing. He kept going, ignoring the fact that all of the insulation was all over the place, on her clothes, on the floor and the shelves inside her closet. He didn't stop, nor care to do so. If I just knew it....I would have removed everything from her closet first before having this guy going up there to the attic. I had to remove all her clothes from the closet to wash- that took me over 2 weeks to wash everything- not to mention all the boxes and shelves plus floor. The day of the installation I got home and he was already there at my door, pretty much ready to go, the problem with that was that I still had to remove clothing from the closet and everything from the laundry area where the outlet was going to be installed. Anthony comes inside the house eager to get to the closet and I told him I still had to remove things and clear the area around the closet and the laundry. I mention to him what his guy did, letting all the insulation fall down on the clothes inside my daughters closet and he pretty much ignored me. So I kept removing things but he was trying to rush me, and didn't have any consideration. You just don't tell someone last minute you can do a job and show up at their home before they get there expecting to get inside and start doing a job that requires going up in an attic full of insulation. I barely finished removing things from the closet and this guy goes up there, making a mess inside my daughters closet. Now is the owner doing that. He then goes to the laundry closet where the other guy is and they start talking and he makes a hole in the wall to pass a cord, ended up with insulation falling inside the laundry area, all over everything I had there. I asked Anthony if I would need to remove all my cleaning supplies and towels from there. He said no. Again insulation all over the place. At this point the guy that made the hole apparently made in the wrong area, Anthony is already screaming and saying that he would never done that job if he knew it was insulation like that inside the attic, that he couldn't breathe and that he had pain in his chest, etc. So he makes another hole in the wall....and kept screaming and being very unprofessional, stating again about how dirty he was and that he would never do that if he knew he had to go up in the attic.....hmmmm...he knew that he had to do that from the beginning. He made a mess in my house, it was a terrible job, he barely patched the hole he made in my ceiling, there was insulation all over the place again, and at one point I was holding a bag for his guy to put the insulation left inside the laundry area...breathing that and now concerned it could be Asbestos since Anthony said he couldn't breathe, that he had to live with that now. I have a very young grandson, my daughter and I that leave in the house, not him. He went in my kitchen where I have baby bottles and all of our personal items and start washing his hands. He didn't ask permission nor ask where the bathroom was for him to properly wash his hands. I removed the paper towel and some other things from the kitchen area to the other side by the stovetop and there he goes again to get paper towel with his hands dripping wet and dirty and that dirty water from his hands fell all over my grandsons baby cup and utensils. This guys legs were dirty from the attic, and all he did was scream and say how dirty he was now amd that he couldn't breathe, that he was not feeling good and that if he knew it he would never done this job. M So he is trying to wash himself at my kitchen sink now and using paper towels to clean his legs, and I asked him not to do that in the kitchen because that is our home and where my grandson walks and is unsanitary. I had to ask this guy at least 3 times not to wash his hands or his legs there, it was unbelievable. He totally ignored me. He was rude, condescending and inappropriate. He charged me $642 dollars for a terrible job that didn't last even one hour. He said it was $600 over the phone too, but deliberately charged me $642. I had to call my bank for this person to give me back $42. Now spending money to get my attic checked for Asbestos and doing doctors visits for my grandson, myself and my daughter. If you, as an electrician don't know what you are doing, then don't go to people's home just to rip them off and to spread insulation all over their house and move insulation inside their attic. It is absolutely unethical and inadmissible. Do not use this guy. He is a ripoff and definitely not professional at all.

    Cleaned up box.

We called when our new refrigerator went out. Not only did they fix our refrigerator connection but redid our electric box and added a dimmer which was tough given the setup. Our box was done by a subcontractor last year. It was a mess. Now look at the box. Magnificent. We highly recommend Anthony and his nephew.

New lights that look very clean!

I called Anthony after the local contractor said they could fix my kitchen outlet problems and the problem reoccurred within a few hours. I didn't have time to mess around with these people and called Anthony and made an appointment and he fixed the problem till he came the next day to put in the new panel. Anthony comes from NY Manhattans Union and knows what he's doing. He is very honest and has ethics. Yes it's not cheap to put in a panel but Anthony is 100%. Now my panel looks gorgeous.

Awesome job. Had a range heating issue, which turned out to be a breaker problem. Took care of it in no time. Thank you!

I walked in today ready to buy -- not browse, not waste time -- actually purchase two lamps I had already picked out. I spent 15 minutes in the showroom while every salesperson sat behind their desks, pretending to be busy, not even bothering to look up or ask if I needed help. If walk-in customers are such an inconvenience, just put a sign on the door. I guess they don't need people who show up ready to spend money. I went to the store specifically because I prefer to buy local instead of ordering on Amazon, but after this experience, I'll gladly click "Add to Cart" online. Customer service: ZERO. Interest in helping customers: ZERO. Huge disappointment. Would not recommend.

The staff is more knowledgeable than any other lighting store you'll find and their prices are competitive. They've grown from basically a light bulb store with some light fixtures to a lighting fixture store three times its original size (that also sells light bulbs) and for good reason; they sell major designer brands and they treat their customers with respect. Yes, they're often busy since they cater to designers and tradesmen that can take some time to accommodate. It's worth waiting.

She left us to shop on our own when she saw we were dragging one another from fixture to fixture! We turned the corner and as soon as we saw it we knew it was THE one. The store was closing so we returned the next day, still in love with the light, and ordered it. Laura explained the details about the Austrian crystal and quality of the Tomia 'Ellie' fixture. We were so excited that we floated out of the store and returned 3 days later to pick it up. The guy at the warehouse behind the building was super nice and helped load the enormous box into the backseat. The day after we got the fixture, Marvin from My Electrical Genie installed it and we all stood back in amazement. The fixture is even more beautiful than when surrounded by all the other fixtures in the store. It is exactly what we wanted - contemporary, crystal, linear with curves and bright. Done. One store and one knowledgeable, smart and friendly salesperson equals a new fixture that lights us up!

Beautiful Things Lighting had the most aesthetically pleasing and quality items without 'breaking the bank' or being too modern. Kathy Caldwell, our liaison at the store, was wonderful. As we discussed various items, she was able to quickly hone in on what we were looking for. Even the final price that we were able to pay was on target and in budget. I recommend at least seeing what they have and speaking with a consultant.

It's a big store. It used to be the old Lord & Taylor. Two floor and the day I was there the second floor air conditioning was out so definitely cut my visit very short considering it was already 90 degrees outside. I'm not sure what I was expecting. With the pricing, and with what I've read, I expected it to be on the lines of a Roche Bobois... not even close. I know this is an outlet store but if this is what they sell... it's not for me. It had a really poor selection of damaged items that are still way over priced. I was honestly expecting to see much better prices on pieces especially ones with obvious flaws and I was surprised to see brands that come from China. I know RH has membership pricing and a strong following. IMO...there are so many better options and you can probably find brand new and factory fresh for the same price or even less than the used pieces they have. Personally I will go elsewhere. - [ ]

I'll start with the end…read more I am thrilled with how my lamp looks, and I've gained tremendous knowledge regarding what to look for when rewiring a lamp. The story begins when I first brought in my Visual Comfort bedside lamp in early April after the switch started to feel as if it was overheating. Christy confirmed that the socket needed to be replaced. While the new socket was likely 'better' than my original, the flat plastic turn switch was (a) aesthetically not pleasing as the mate has a brass turn switch and (b) was not useable when laying in bed (literally, had to get out of bed to turn the lamp on/off). A little back-and-forth, some education on sockets/wattage that I didn't have prior, and legwork by Christy -- she was able to pinpoint a socket that was aesthetically close to the original, and worked better for my situation -- and I'm thrilled to have my lamp back home as good as new (possibly, even better). I am equally thrilled to have a relationship with a local, family-owned business I can trust to do the right thing. Will not hesitate to bring future projects to Quality Lighting and Accessories.
