We stayed here during a big track meet and the hotel was very nice. The room was spacious for 2 adults and a child and we got a nice view of UT thanks to guy at the front desk. Our stay was really put over the top by our valet - he gave us great insight for getting to the university and bonded over common interests as he brought our bags up. All in all, the staff here was very accommodating and had excellent customer service. Definitely would return to stay here if we're ever back in the area. read more

Nice set up beautiful views. Interesting there was also a pool up there. Gonna have to take a dip sometime when it don't feel like bath water. The forecast for this week is crazy hot. I hope the pool Is at least a little chilled. If I have to throw ice in it I will! lol really nice set up. Be wary the menu is very limited even though it came for. The same kitchen as the restaurant downstairs. If you want more offerings you can go down and get a take out then bro g it upstairs. You may do that. read more

This is a 3 star hotel with 5 star service. So I'm giving it a 4. First, they don't tell you (obviously) that one side of the hotel has the unfortunate view of a rather unsightly alley, and construction. While the other is facing a parking structure, boring but tolerable. Guess which side I was on ? Ugh. I asked to change rooms, but the hotel was booked. One of the employees, Trent, could tell it wasn't living up to my expectations and, to my surprise, sent over a complimentary bottle of champagne. Well, I gotta tell you, it doesn't take much to win me over LOL (To their credit, they tried to switch my room two nights later but for multiple reasons, it just didn't work out.) Every time I came into the lobby, or called for something, the front desk was friendly. They also give out little lavender bags and shower bombs to enhance your experience too. Honestly, the hotel itself was nice, modern and clean. And you get access to the rooftop bar Otopia at The Otis, which is the more upscale hotel next door. If you don't care about the view, it's not bad at all. Unfortunately, that isn't me. read more

It's been a while since I have been here as I usually stay at the Otis next door but as it was out of range for our company booking I decided just to stay here an it was a great experience! Valet is always great ( both hotels share the same folks and they are always awesome) and check in was easy and friendly. Room is clean, bright and modern / it's on the smaller side but when it's just me for work, that is fine! Hoth hotels share the same room service and the servers are lovely! Always great to see them. Enjoyed their Tuna Tartare tacos and their heirloom tomatoe salad which were amazing and they have the best oatmeal ever for breakfast Had a great time and it exceeded my expectations read more

AC hotels are one of my favorites - modern look, good service, comfortable stay, and affordable price. This one checks them all as well. Located right next to UT, and not too far from downtown Austin, a great place to stay for exploring. There is limited street parking so be prepared to pay. Small lobby as well so not a place to lounge. Check in was quick and got a room on a relatively high floor. Not much of a view but you will see other west campus towers. Rooms are decently size and appointed with all the essentials. Since it's a new hotel plenty of power outlets, food water pressure, and nice large tvs. Overall a great stay. read more

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the AC Austin. My only complaint was that the hotel was not baby friendly (which to be fair I am sure is not their target audience, but we were in town for a wedding). We were traveling with our 3 month old and called weeks in advance to request a crib/pack and play for our stay. We showed up and what they had provided was a pack and play with no mattress. To remedy this, they used a folded up down comforter in the bottom of the pack and play. To anyone with babies, you know how extremely unsafe this is for sleep. We had no choice but to co-sleep one night (forcing us into another unsafe option), and then purchase a pack and play mattress to use for our remaining two nights which felt very wasteful. The baby sleep situation was so unsafe I would just not recommend staying here if you're traveling with a baby. read more

This location is busy as it is near a Texas University campus, so you'll constantly bump into students. Upon arrival to the lobby, you're welcomed with a delightful unique scent (wish I could take it he with me). Front Desk staff were alway so welcoming and readily available to answer any questions. My room was clean and nice with street views, but I wished a mini fridge would of been available. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my stay and was near a lot of food and tourist attractions. read more

This is an good hotel for the busy solo traveler. The type who wakes up, gets dressed, leaves and doesn't return until late night. It's also good for someone with a short stay. I was here for 2 nights. I arrived at 11 PM and the valet and front desk were manned, and the staff was still pleasant and helpful. I checked out ~31 hours later to catch an early flight. The front desk and valet were still very friendly and helpful. At first glance the rooms seem cheap, but I quickly realized the thoughtful ergonomic design, especially in the "bathroom," more on that below. There is a small barrel chair and round table in the room. I used them for eating and watching TV a little before bed. There is a desk and a small chair for workspace, but your devices will have to be plug in or powered already, as there are only electric outlets nearby. The usb ports are on the opposite side by the bed. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Two negatives: no fridge in all of the rooms and no microwave. When I have a crack of dawn flight, I like to reheat dinner leftovers for a quick breakfast. I think hotels are trying to promote their room service, which is expensive and likely not open if you have to wake up at 4 AM to make your 7AM flight. Do not stay in this hotel if you're traveling with someone. There is no closed off bathroom, so there's no privacy when exiting the shower. Also take extra care to make sure you wipe up all of the water that, inevitably, gets all over the immediate floor. The rooms are not carpeted, so it is very easy to track water all over the rest of the floor. read more

The rooms are small, but nice. It's I connected to another hotel, so make sure that you go into the right entrance. You have to take the elevator to the second floor to check in. Because they are connected to another hotel - there is a restaurant and rooftop available. There is a rooftop pool area. Small but cute. My ick is that AC guests have to pay $20 to use the pool. IMO it should be available to all Marriott Bonvoy members. read more

Having experienced 11 Marriott Bonvoy network properties in TX, CA, AZ, CA, TN and LA over the past 6 weeks of constant travel, the AC Hotel is the most impressive of the lot. Room was clean and quiet, had a comfortable, and offered a great view of the McCombs School of Business and UT Austin campus across the street. Proximity to the campus may be the drawing card, but the customer service The staff at check-in and -out couldn't have been nicer. The parking garage was was easy to find, a hundred feet past the hotel. Enjoyed the well appointed fitness center every day while on property. The Acre 41 restaurant, in the adjacent Otis Hotel, served an outstanding breakfast and dinner (reviewed separately). Be sure to have cocktails and take in the city view, and watch sunset, from the rooftop bar and pool, Otopia, which offers drink specials during golden hour. The rooms are chic, tidy and well appointed. Refrigerators are not standard, so request one if you need it; ours was sent up in a few minutes. We enjoyed our stay so much that we plan a return visit to the AC Hotel when in town next week. read more

I stayed at the AC Hotel Austin University in mid-June. The rooms were comfortable and air conditioned, which was a relief given the heat. The bar staff downstairs were friendly. However, the Burger Bar dining option was a real shocker. I went to order a cheeseburger and fries, and watch the guy preparing it picking fries out of the hopper and eating them, then sucking ketchup out of a packet. The final straw was when he poured the fries into my basket and took a couple out with his fingers and ate them. I cancelled my order which they refunded, except they kept the tip. I told the AC staff which comped me with an appetiser from the bar, this was enough. AC Hotel should really sort out the staff at Burger Bar, or at least not advertise it on their website. I wouldn't want my brand blemished by the absolutely disgusting service rendered by Burger Bar. read more

A disppointing stay at the AC hotel with two major issues. First, during check-in, I requested a 4am wakeup call because I had to hit the road early the next morning. That call never came; if I hadn't been overly cautious and set my phone up for three alarms at around the same time, I would have been screwed. At a time when most hotels use programmed robocalls for wakeup calls, this was entirely inexcusable. Second, the tiny refridgerator in the room could not keep anything cool. I know the AC is more "modern" than "luxury," but this was such a basic component that it should be done better. Other issues included a self-parking option that was neither intuitive nor explained when one reserved it, necessitating emails/phone calls to front desk staff. The parking options wereall pricey; this may be standard but it didn't make us feel any better. Rooms are stylish, the beds comfortable. But that non-wakeup call was completely unacceptable. read more

Stayed here for a weekend while in Austin. Great location, attached to the Otis. The room was a bit small but very modern and good enough if you are just staying in the room for the evenings. I did work for a day in the room, and the desk setup was good enough if you need to work for a day or so. Definitely would stay here again when in Austin. read more

My bed had hair in it. I told the staff my sheets were dirty. They said it would be cleaned by a supervisor. Left before 9 am. Returned at 11 pm. Room had not been touched. Asked the front desk about it the next morning. They saw the note on my room & account and acknowledged nothing was done in my room. I am sooooo blessed because supposedly they refunded my $37 parking (smh). Never got a note about the refund. I was so disappointed. I am a member, too. The parking garage is to small. It was full. Two of three levels is valet. Customers used more than one space and got notes left on their windows by other guests that have had enough of the rudeness. The front desk staff did not care at all. See attached pictures. The hotel is ok. Staff is polite. Location is the only reason to stay here because it is so pricey for what you get or rather what you don't get. read more

Amazing lobby with lighting to set the mood for a premium hotel experience. Fast check-in with friendly staff. The room was cozy, although a little on the small side and was lacking a refrigerator. They did have bottled water in the room, but it was at room temperature. The walls were a little thin, and we could hear everyone's conversations in the hallways as they walked by - and this could bother light sleepers. One note was the parking situation. We tried the garage across the street first, but it's owned by a private school. All the spaces were reserved and it charged us $3 to exit. The parking is unmarked and under the building, and shared with the other hotel next door. We had to call and drive around a bit, as this wasn't really made clear ahead of time. read more

Restaurant bar (RC) is not worth it. We were told by the concierge that happy hour was mondays-Friday's. We were charged normal prices on a Friday. $13 for below average drinks. The outdoor deck is southwest facing and there is no shade past 4pm... brace yourself with sunscreen and sunglasses. The smell of chick fil a permeates throughout the outdoor deck. The inside of the restaurant had a weird vibe - completely silent... Waiters brought the wrong drinks and made it seem like we were "lucky" that he wasn't charging us for the incorrect drink. First visit. Front desk agent (young Asian guy), extremely pleasant but failed to inform us about ANYTHING. Not a word about the property, amenities, breakfast, nothing. The elevator was disturbingly dirty with a horrific stench? The room was unexpectedly very tiny but IMMACULATE...I wiped down everything we would touch with a white towel, did not find any evidence of uncleanliness. More like dust from being inactive. Minus complimentary toiletries other than one tiny bar of soap and an obviously 'USED' bottled of skin lotion? We were too exhausted to discuss it with management, rather chose to head out for dinner. We returned totally wiped looking forward to a pleasant night rest. Unfortunately, there was yelling, screaming and dropping heavy objects from the room above us on the 10 floor. Security stated they "checked." It went on intermittently from 2:10AM to 7:28AM?! We drove 3.5 hours from an emotionally draining funeral and needed a good night rest. We gave up and went to breakfast in the adjoining hotel Otis for breakfast... We decided to not stay another night and checked into a more accommodating hotel. One that will not allow guest to continuously disturb other guest and front desk knows how to communicate the amenities of the hotel. read more

My husband & I decided to stay at the AC hotel last weekend as our little getaway to celebrate us eloping. Once notifying the front desk the reason for our stay the entire hotel staff made sure our weekend was nothing less than perfect. One man in particular named Glenn, went above and beyond to make sure we had the BEST experience . Glen upgraded our room then went so far to setup wine, chocolate and a hand written (hand written notes are the sweetest things ever, in my eyes) note in our room so once we returned from exchanging our vows we were greeted by his surprise. I was so outdone to the point I found myself hugging the man every time I crossed his path. All the way leading up until the weekend I was so anxious/worried about planning the perfect weekend for my husband and I; I just wanted to things to perfect --- just for us to get to the AC hotel and receive the best service I've ever experienced in a hotel setting. My Dad booked me a room tonight at the AC hotel as a birthday gift. I lost my ID this week, and immediately apologized for that at check in. But my name was on the reservation & I gave the manager on staff, Lima, 4 other forms of ID: my debit card, my health insurance card, my vaccination card, and a photo of my driver's license from an old hiring email. Somehow, this was "not sufficient" proof of my identity. I asked Lima to speak to my Dad who booked the room, but she said that would not be enough. I even gave her the email address we used to book. She offered to "cut me a deal" where I could pay for the whole thing on my card AGAIN? Even though it was a pre-arranged birthday gift from my Dad (I was never wished a happy birthday once, by the way). She also mentioned at one point that because of Covid they are no longer accepting cash, but that wearing masks is optional, which is just bizarre... Lima was dismissive, & unyielding. She was treating me like I was a fraud, a prostitute, or houseless, or something. No matter WHO someone is, they deserve respect. Even though I was being spoken to as if I were an aspiring criminal, I was being kind, compliant, apologetic, and transparent toward Lima - she was anything but. She scoffed at me and was rolling her eyes as if I was trying to get away with something... I've never been treated like that. I left feeling cut-down, nauseous, and absolutely mortified. Many thanks to Caleb for trying to make her mistakes right after my Dad called in to investigate. Caleb gave us points as a consolation. I understand policy... But the way I was treated tonight was inexcusable, unprofessional, nonsensical and immoral. Lima is undeserving of her position. She has no common sense, compassion, professionalism, or empathy. Her coworkers looked aghast at how she was treating me. They tried to make small talk to lighten the mood. Thank you to Esther (and the young man whose name I did not get) for trying to ease the tension of the birthday hell Lima put me through. I wouldn't send my worst enemy here. read more
