He was instrumental in making the evening special, helping every guest with warmth and efficiency. The highlight? When a pilot mentioned wanting a good coffee, Steve personally made him a perfect espresso which to me was a small but perfect example of his "whatever it takes" mindset. Met up with some friends at their hotel for drinks before a show and we ended up really enjoying the bar area. The ambiance was beautiful and the bartender was fantastic. Drinks were delicious and strong, but not so strong that you can't actually enjoy them. Perfect balance. We happened to be there during one of their special happy hour type moments, though I can't remember what they called it. At one point they gave everyone sitting at the bar a little champagne drink so we could all do a toast together, which was actually a really nice touch. And yes, the little champagne drink was delicious too. Completely forgot to write down the names of the drinks we ordered which is honestly such a rookie mistake. Decent hotel. Large rooms that were clean. Good service. The hotel had a lounge that stayed open really late downstairs, with good drinks. A restaurant that served breakfast, lunch and dinner. There's a breakfast buffet every morning. Valet parking on site which makes things easy. Thanks Chris for helping us out. Only downside is the valet is separate from the hotel. You have to pay the valet directly and you can't pay through the hotel unless they make a special request. Would we stay again. Yes we would. read more

I would recommend this hotel overall when visiting the golden 1 center for Sacramento Kings basketball games/events or DOCO area in general. It's walking distance to old Sacramento, golden 1 center/DOCO. They provide water, coffee and tea free of charge in the lobby. I've stayed in a lot of hotels in Sac and have decided that this one's going to be my new home away from home when work calls me to the capital city. Rooms are contemporary yet comfortable, upkeep is good, beds are comfy. Climate control works well and the desk and chair are suitable for work. There's plenty of counter space and space to spread out. Highly functional and a lot of space for one. The hotel location is fantastic. I do really wish the parking garage was not privately owned and that it had a gate that closed. It wasn't the slightest bit shady at all in there but a gate just would make me feel better. I'm not sure where the hotel valet parks but I'm guessing it's in that same garage. Note also that there's no elevator from the downstairs parking garage so you will either need to carry your luggage up a lot of stairs (no thanks) or you will do like me and roll your luggage up and down the "no pedestrians allowed" entry/exit ramp. :p This is a great spot anyway. I stayed here for about a week for a work conference. Upon check in, I looked over the room to make sure it was thoroughly cleaned. I pulled the sheets back in the kings size bed and discovered yellow urine or something else stains on the sheets. Disgusting!! I immediately called down to the front desk, and they advised they would have housekeeping come immediately and change the sheets. Why did this even happen? I would think that housekeeping staff would confirm the sheets are clean or without stains before making up a bed. Outside of that experience, the hotel and room were nice. Right off the elevator, they have a coffee/tea station that is fully stocked everyday with all supplies. There's a nice bar that I was able to patronized, but it looked like a good setup. Also, the location is perfect, as there are so many different food and entertainment options in walking distance. I would stay again, and just hope that the housekeepers pay more attention to the cleanliness of the linen. read more

Why 3 stars? Because there were some quirks with our stay. --- --- --- We were in town for one night to go to an A's game. The AC Hotel was one of the closer hotels to the park, was bookable with Bonvoy points, and had solid ratings, so it was a fairly easy choice. I read that parking was only available via a city lot, but I imagined that to be a lot that was just nearby but not directly affiliated with the hotel. That turned out to not really be the case: the lot and the garage were essentially on the grounds of the hotel. And the price was only $25 for overnight parking, so I was pretty happy with that. We walked into our room and the first thing I noticed is that our bathroom trash can had not been emptied from the guest before us. I don't think I have ever stayed in a hotel where this happened before, so it was kind of odd, but fortunately there was nothing gross in the can, so it wasn't a big deal. But the biggest complaint I have about the hotel is from the electricity in the room. Some hotels have the power saving device on the wall, where you have to leave your hotel key in it to keep power on in the room. In this hotel, you did not have the ability to place a key card into this device - you could simply touch it to turn the master power on or off. So when we went to bed, I turned it on, and then turned the lights off, so that the power outlets remained on to charge our phones and watches. But after a few minutes, the outlets no longer worked. I was already in bed about to fall asleep, so I couldn't get up and mess with it, but I was pretty annoyed that it was such a hassle just to keep my phone charger functionable. A very nice hotel in downtown Sacramento. I had a work trip here and we stayed at this beautiful hotel. The hotel is nicely decorated and modern. My room was clean and comfortable. I like the minimalistic style of the rooms. Bathroom was nice and clean. I had breakfast at the hotel restaurant. You can order a prefix breakfast option and also get some pastries, yogurt, fruit, meat, cheeses, cereal, oatmeal, etc. I ordered the Shakaru egg bake and it was amazing. Very flavorful and tasty. I also grabbed a coconut chia pudding with a mango sauce and berries parfait, it was delicious! They also have a very fancy Nespresso machine, the double shot espresso was great! Meh We stayed here because it seemed to be the closest Marriott property to Sutter Health Park. The room was clean enough, but there were quirks. The temperature of the water in the shower kept changing. Also, the AC turned off periodically. "Fortunately" the room was small and cooled off quickly each time the AC was restarted. The prices in the lobby food stand were unnecessarily high: $6 for a small bag of potato chips. There is a parking garage on 7th Street that is connected to the hotel. It was a quick one night stay (we were on our to Seattle), but a really nice one! We were very tired from a long drive and this place was a nice recharge. Room was clean, spacious and cozy. The fridge with water inside was nice and the TV had streaming features. Great staff, service-shout out to the bartender and the manager who served us (and folks at the bar) an evening traditional shot, it was delicious and so thoughtful. That night they made a cucumber gimlet. The bar served delicious tapas like bites-we got the shrimp garlic toast, rigatoni with chicken, veggies, and the garlic chicken with potatoes. As a Bonvoy Ambassador, we recieved 2 breakfast vouchers (great options) but no welcoming gift like the other Marriotts. All good as each hotel brand has their own processes. read more

For all of you points people out there this is a Marriott property! Normally, I'm not a fan of boutique hotels because they just don't have the coziness of a "standard" style hotel, but the AC Hotel seems to be the perfect mix of the two. I booked a single king room and even though it was small, it was perfect for my one night stay. The room was located right next-door to the elevator, but I did not hear a peep during the night. In fact, my window faced a busy main street and I barely heard the traffic below. There is a full bar in the lobby along with a dining area that offers a breakfast buffet and a menu for lunch and dinner. I only hung out at the bar and did not eat at the hotel. I did however buy a few items from their onsite 24-hour market; water, chips, etc. This hotel is located right in the heart of downtown Sacramento and there are tons of amazing local food and bar options just a short walk away. The main one being DOCO, which houses both plenty of dining options and the Sacramento Kings basketball team. They do not have a private parking lot, but attached to the property is a paid lot. It was $45 to valet or $25 in the attached parking lot. The parking lot it's not associated with the hotel, but there's a security guard walking the parking lot throughout the day and night. This AC doesn't feel like an extended stay type hotel. It seems better suited for a quick one or two night business trip. I'd definetly stay here again! read more

Booked this hotel because it was centrally located to places we were going to visit during our Thanksgiving trip. I also purchased the breakfast option for THREE of us and booked a room with a king bed and fold out sofa bed. Parked using valet and checked in. At check-in, they couldn't find my room using my confirmation number. No big deal, they found it using my last name. Keys were made and I was told, "Breakfast is available for $19 per person." I said I purchased the breakfast package. "Oh, yes you did, I'm sorry I missed that", proceeds to write us two vouchers for each day we were staying, even though I paid for three people. Get ready to go to room and was told to enjoy our queen bed...wrong again! Had to get new keys made and changed to a new room with two queen beds. Again, not what I booked, but whatever, it worked. Is it that hard to read the screen to see what I booked? Get to room and it takes about five minutes to figure out the lighting/outlet operation. Why in the hell does a hotel room have main power shut-off switch? The outlet by my bed didn't work, no matter what we tried. Room AC/heating control wouldn't let us adjust from their pre-set temperature. Nice, big bathroom, but the shower control took a while to figure out. Two knobs, one controlling water temp. and the other controlled whether water came out from overhead (way up there with poor pressure) or from the wand. To turn off the shower, you had to align the control knob perfectly in the middle of either option. This sounds easy, but it wasn't. The breakfast was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING. This hotel is in America, not Europe. They brag about their "European Inspired" breakfast (see my photo), but it is terrible. Holiday Inn Express offers a much better option...at half the cost. Cold cuts and cheese for breakfast? No hot food of any kind, unless you ordered it from their a la carte menu (four options). Pancake/waffle batter, eggs, oatmeal, sausage, bacon, potatoes, biscuits, etc.....NOT AVAILABLE! I guess these aren't "European" even though we're in Anerica. The location of the hotel was excellent (an easy walk to DOCO and Old Town) and it was clean. But the negatives outweighed the positives. The breakfast situation alone would make me never want to stay here again. read more

The AC hotel is a nice hotel conveniently located at the edge of downtown Sacramento. It's in a prime location for easily getting in and out of town especially if you have plans to go to Golden1 Center which is basically right next door. It's also within walking distance of the state capital, the convention center, Cesar Chavez park, and many other local amenities. The hotel is clean and staff is friendly and helpful. There is also a breakfast available for $19. This includes a hot plate, made to order, plus a continental breakfast. Breakfast was good, but honestly probably a little overpriced. If I didn't have Comped breakfast I probably wouldn't have got it. There was also a nice bar located in the lobby and I heard they had excellent drinks. read more

Hotel is nicely updated and the staff was professional. But that's where it ends. WARNING: The hotel, valet service and parking lot are managed by three different groups. The problems are the parking and valet. Here's the breakdown: On 3/23, I arrived about 10:30pm. I quickly parked in the lower area. There is signage in multiple places saying to scan the QR code and pay for parking. I started to do this but after a 5 hr drive I needed to use the restroom. I went in the hotel to use the restroom. Afterwards I spoke with the hotel desk person to make sure I parked in the correct area. He said I did not need to park down there and that I could move to the top level. I was going to go pay when I got to my truck but the desk person said I did not need to pay since I was planning on leaving at 7am and that I would be fine until then. It did not matter that I arrived at 7:02am because the parking people had already cited me for $65 at 11:24 the night before. I go to the valet that morning of the 24th and the guy could barely get his face off his phone. He said he could not do anything about the ticket (they're a separate company). I asked if I could eat breakfast since I already have a ticket. He said sure and shrugged his shoulders. Inside, before getting breakfast, I told the ladies at the front desk about the circumstances. They too could not do anything. I asked them since I have a ticket can I at least eat before I go. They said sure but put the ticket back on my truck so they see I have one. I returned to my truck after eating only to find another ticket written at 7:42am. I called the number on the ticket (916-492-0100) and told the young lady the sequence of events. She was polite but unable to do anything. Sher could not dismiss one ticket and apparently there's no one above her who could help. I also called hotel management (279-237-0100) to see if they could do anything. Another professional young lady who could only tell me the hotel could do nothing because parking was run by a separate company and there was no manager to talk to. By this point I was barely keeping my tongue. In the course of the conversation though I was able to have confirmation that the parking management tickets aggressively and I'm SOL. I do get a $20 discount on each ticket if they're paid withing 2 weeks. So bad communication from the valet and hotel desk is only going to cost me $90 instead of $130. In the end these three businesses need to understand that uninformed front desk people, valets who prefer being on their phones and parking management who have no qualms ticketing the same car twice in a 12 hr period leaves a bad taste for all three of them. I won't use them again and I would discourage other from going. read more

It's sleek, but I've slept much better at roadside motels :/ First: $320 and change plus $35 parking. That's what we paid for a night; at check in the advertised, unreserved rate was even higher. I don't mind, but the rate sets expectations. At $350 a night I'd have imagined we'd have things like water glasses rather than paper cups wrapped individually in plastic. I'd have also been grateful for curtains to complete the job attempted by the black out shades (see photo for my lighting experience, from dawn forward, bc no curtains). The staff were, every one, wonderful. Night desk manager -- 5 stars. Day one surely as spectacular, though we had less interaction. Hotel housekeeping, who tried to fix the tv for us; breakfast staff; all warm and helpful. The hotel is well designed and gives low-level modern luxury, with a few frayed edges - surprising for the newness of the place (photos). Breakfast, true continental style, was of good quality at an additional $20 per person. Another plus: super clean. Bedding was phenomenal. Crisp, perfect layers, good quality. Unfortunately, the bed had a very high degree of motion transfer and the pillow options were all high fill, so I woke with neck pain. The tv didn't work, even after a very nice houseman tried to fix it. And the air only went to 68. We were in a two queen bed room: I was cold, in front of the air, and the other two occupants were sweating all night. So - uneven spread of air, not satisfactorily cool for those who like to sleep cool. I wouldn't likely return at the current rates, because the value seems disproportionate to pricing. But I'm grateful for the excellent staff. read more

I have been coming to the AC Hotel on and off for the last few months when I travel from NV to Sacramento and usually never have any problems everyone is friendly and nice but this last time I stayed was not good at all being I'm a regular and spend a lot of money at this hotel you would think they would have the common courtesy and be patient with me when checking out. My last day staying there I called the front desk and told them my flight was leaving at a certain time and kindly asked them for a later check out they told me they wouldn't give me a late check out, okay that was fine but as I'm packing my stuff about to leave the Manager Michael and the little mexican lady who works in the front come banging on the door and demand I leave by 2pm or they are calling the cops. FOR WHAT???? Very rude, Very uncalled for and really made me feel violated for no reason. Michael and the mexican lady at the front desk are very rude and do not get payed enough to make guest feel unwanted and rushed out I spent over 1300$ staying with them this time only to be treated very poorly. I will never spend another dollar with them. Then to top it off I called them the day after I checked out to ask about my deposits and the mexican lady in the front told me they wouldn't give me my deposits back for no reason??? AGAIN FOR WHAT???? Do not recommend staying here so many more nice hotels in downtown Sacramento to choose from with better amenities and more professional staff. Brand new hotel! Price is very reasonable. Came here for a one night stay. The only reason I didn't give it 4 stars is because the parking is a little weird but that's par for the course in downtown Sacramento. Very friendly and help staff. Nice room. Has a water machine and ice machine down the hall. It reminds me a lot of the Westin just smaller rooms and cheaper price. It is a Marriott after all so it makes sense. I hadn't heard of the AC brand for Marriott but I will definitely check out other locations. It says European style which is another word for smaller room. It has everything you need. It is smaller but since I was traveling alone there was plenty of room for me. No closet or dresser but I never use those anyway. Nice lounge in the lobby. There is no bell desk but they have carts if you need to carry your things upstairs. read more

I measure a hotel on a three points. This hotel failed on the first two and barely broke even in the third 1. Location. Great location if you are visiting the city jail, which is right across the street. Or if you need a bail bondsman since there 8 of them in a block or so. Nice location if going to the arena but not comfortable at night. A lot of boarded up places. So no good on the location. 2. Room comfortable. Small. Weird design. Trying to be a euro look but clearly no one went to Europe. The three major items where it failed was : (1) noise from the street was present all night; (2) shades block only about 80% or so of the light. By morning the room was bright; and (3) the control on the ac was as effectively set at 70. The room never cooled down. Add all three together and not a good night of sleep. 3. Hotel staff and amenities. Staff was fine. Nothing spectacular but professional. The hotel amenities were okay. WiFi was intermittent in the room. The breakfast did not look inviting. There is parking in a garage but signage on how to get back to the hotel is missing. Everyone I saw just walked back up the ramp. So if you viewing the jail, great location. DOCO, not bad but not great at night. Same for old Sacramento. read more

I was very disturbed disgusted and disappointed with the cleanliness. I must have gotten 100 bites all over my face neck and body. My wife and i stayed in room #617 this past weekend (July 27th-28th 2024) and we had such a great stay. Once we first walked in till we checked out, the entire staff (frint desk, housekeeping, bartender,etc) was amazing, helpful, and kind. Our room was so nice and very clean. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious. I enjoyed the small touches of our stay, such as the fridge that stored 2 glass cups to keep drinks nice and cold. For such an affordable and fantastic stay, it made me feel like we were treated at a higher end hotel, and I've stayed in many hotels and resorts. The only downside to this hotel is that they don't have dedicated free parking on site. You could either pay a hefty price for valet ($40 something/night) or pay at an adjacent private parking lot $25/ night). This is the reason why I gave 4 stars. If they have their own parking, this place for sure is a 5 star hotel. Great job to EVERYONE working that weekend. You made my stay very enjoyable. I would definitely come back here again. read more

Terrible service! I booked online and payed to park in the lot they advise only to walk in and be denied a room. I was told several times that they were all booked up. I asked many times if they were absolutely sure that they were booked solid. I was told yes they had no more rooms. After asking to use the computer in the lobby, I searched and found that they still had some vacant units. unfortunately at this point I already paid for parking and was given a refund. Once again, I asked last time if they were sure that they didn't have any more rooms even though I have a reservation, I was told that 200% sure, so I stopped asking and booked another room in Davis California. Shortly there after the supervisor approaches me and asked me what my name was. He said that he had found another room available. As I said, unfortunately, I had booked another room and lost money on parking.. I'm giving it a one star because after I reached out to hotel management and customer service, I was just given an apology that they would not mistake in the future. No compensation for time and money lost. I am a valuable Bonvoy member just like all the other members. And by the way, the room was 435 bucks for the evening and I feel I was treated like lower class. I told the staff no thank you I don't think I would ever want to stay here or AC hotels in the future. read more
