Water spilled outside the floor when taking shower
    Jasmine A.

Location is fine, many restaurants nearby out of business, lots of homeless around. The room looks clean and spacious but the shower glass is too narrow, so water spilled outside on the floor. Complimentary coffee and tea from 6 am everyday, but tea rack was empty around 7, no one refilled the plastic lids even after the front desk was informed. The guest opened the cupboard down there and got the supplies by themselves. Swimming pool supposed to open at 7 am, but the staff was cleaning it at 7:30 am. The outdoor pool was not heated as stated in their website. Mixology is complimentary to teach the guests how to make a cocktail, same Cocomo drink everyday. Definitely not worth the money as a 4 stars hotel

Disappointing. It's pricey and I genuinely had hoped for a better experience. Thinking upscale hotel and packed accordingly. No face soap! Seriously?! And here for two days. Ugh! Front desk couldn't have cared less which equates to me not investing in the Kimpton brand again. So sad, they used to be someplace special and worth more dollars. The room had multiple dents/scratches/and an unpleasant smell. It was also an oven. Called guest services but no one showed up. Miserable night of minimal sleep. Called next day and it was only temporarily resolved mid afternoon for a few hours. Ridiculous. Two nights without decent sleep! Sure they give you free alcohol for an hour in the afternoon; I much more value a premium room experience. Genuinely, consider elsewhere!!!

Came here for Sofar sounds and it was an enjoyable and memorable experience.initial it was supposed to be an outside event but was changed inside due to the weather. The staff did an amazing job with the last minute switch. Overall I enjoyed the selection of music, drinks, and venue

Very nice hotel with lots things to do around the area. Either visit one of the restaurants or bars or just walk outside to one of the bars, restaurants and attractions!

A lovely stay! On a whim, I decided to stay at the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel and had a very nice night. Fortunately because it was a last minute booking, the rate was heavily discounted. This is a gorgeous and up-scale hotel with lovely amenities. Parking was very easy. You have the option to valet or self-park in the underground garage. The elevator from the garage leads you directly into the beautiful, modern, and clean lobby. There is an abundance of lounge seating available and a very nice coffee/hot cocoa bar. In the coffee bar, there were syrups and toppings available for use which made it feel much more luxurious. The room was great too. We booked the Premium King Room with the Golden One Center view. The room was spacious and clean. It did not feel cramped or crowded. The bed was comfortable and was furnished with many pillows. The hotel offers almost any bathroom amenities that you can think of if you forgot them. The mini bar is fully loaded, but pricey as expected. I was unfortunately disappointed with the view though. We were placed on the sixth floor and could hardly see the Golden One Center. The window overlooked just the roof of the stadium. We could not see the plaza, city, or much of the stadium at all. If you crane your neck to the sides, you can barely see the Tower Bridge and the State Capitol. We also had some trouble with the AC in the room. It was working early in the night, but despite being set to 65, the heater seemed to have kicked on. It got very hot in the room, and then got very cold on its own even later. Despite this, I would definitely stay at the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel again, just without paying extra for a "view."

Wow! We all have heard of the "above and beyond" effort, however we experienced a step above here at the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel. Ivan at the front desk is a treasure. Treated us like we were one of the famous NBA stars currently staying at hotel...so incredibly helpful with area events and goings on, amazing food and entertainment close at hand. Had a restaurant recommendation for everything on our foodcation list. The rest of the staff was on full "above and beyond" mode as they enthusiastically helped with all our needs. And when they say they love dogs...holy smokes, I think the entire staff came to love on our furry kid. The rooms were excellent, clean and so comfy...this will be our vacay spot in Sacramento from now on...so close to so much to do with such care and attention, staying here is no brainer.

First impressions are everything. The hotel is located in a convenient spot -restaurants, and shops within walking distance and across from where the Sacramento Kings play. Check-in was smooth, front desk employees were very professional and helpful. The room was clean, bathroom clean, at least at first glance, but when you start to inspect just a little closer you'll see those little things that make a difference pop up. The table is warped because of water spills, I imagine, as you can see the bubbling on the top of the table because it's not real wood. They probably just need to replace the table already. The lamp by the bed as you can see from the pictures looks like it's not been cleaned or dusted since they opened up. The room overall is very sterile looking, it almost feels like a common place where people come and grab snacks. The outlets by the bed are loose, what ever you plug-in won't stay plugged because it's loose so not only a maintenance issue, but I don't think that's safe either. They have spots for USB but not for USB-C, which is a little surprising given the tech adoption, the fact we're about to go into year 2026, and that many electronic devices today have the USB-C for charging, they could at least have it as an option. The other problem I have is that the light control is by the door for all of the main lights in the room. However, there is a light that is attached to the headboard like behind it so if you want that on at night, you have to get out of your bed and go to the door to turn it on or off, which I think is a major design flaw since most hotels will have a light control somewhere by the bed for convenience. Also, they have really nothing in the bathroom as far as lotions are concerned. They had this 1 ounce bottle that was already half used and not replaced when I checked in. My Lysol spray next to it is 1.5 ounces. This Hotel is a place to lay your head if you're in town, but definitely nothing to write home about.

We visited Sunday at 8:45am. It was bustling with guests coming and going. They have a door man. That was very polite and opened the door for us. They had a free coffee and tea bar right inside the entrance. Across from the reception desk. The bathroom was open to the public. It has a code on the door, but it wasn't locked. The bathroom is across from the reception desk down the hall after the suite entrance.

A quick getaway. First time staying . Value was good . Check in process was easy . Lobby area very nicely appointed. Good included happy hour . Room was clean. Only area that needed work was valet . No luggage loaded or doors open . I'll stay here again .

    Pet hair in the rooms?

I have stayed here 6 times with my pet. Going into the rooms I have not seen pet hair. It seems like they vacuum daily.

    Is there a dress code?

There does not appear to be a dress code at the hotel or hotel bar. I have seen basic clothing versus fancy. Everyone seems to fit in.

How comfy are the beds? It matters

Very Comfortable! Not the type that you sink in when you're on it. Hope this helps.

A Fantastic Stay--Hyatt Regency Sacramento Delivered Everything We Needed!…read more I don't usually make it a habit to stay at 4 or 5-star hotels simply because I like to avoid unnecessary hassle, which is why I typically go the Airbnb route. However, Airbnbs have really been striking out lately, so we decided to give the Hyatt Regency on L Street a shot--and I am so glad we did. From the second we arrived, the experience was seamless. We were able to park right away, and check-in was an absolute breeze thanks to a super friendly and helpful team. We were up and in our room within minutes, and walking in to find the AC already blowing cold air instantly won me over. The bed was comfortable, we had zero issues sleeping, and the location made it effortless to get around and do everything we came to Sacramento for. Having a great bar, lounge, and full-service restaurant right on site took care of all our needs, including breakfast to start the day off right. This stay completely changed my perspective, and I would gladly come back in a heartbeat!

Over the last two days I've been trying to make reservations for my partners birthday in the next couple weeks. He and I have been trying to find the best and most relaxing accommodations at a decent and fair cost. With each of the associates I spoke to I was sadly getting miss leading information about what amenity's for a bundled package for the birthday. Most if not all hotels offer some packages that make a stay more comfortable and enjoyable. One associate offered free complimentary parking, small daily allowance and also a 2 pm late check out while other associates said that you never offer those. I understand that things can possibly change per associate but to say they are never offer something is odd. Not to mention on top of all miss leading information they kept referring to my partner as my wife when I already said it's for my partner ( he). It's very insensitive, unprofessional and presumptuous to just assume our partners orientation by just our voices (this happened multiple times to the point I had to correct)! I didn't receive any warmth or personable connection with the associates to feel like I'm being welcomed to make a reservation. They were very cold and robotic like I'm being sold a car. Talking to someone to book a stay at a Beautiful hotel like Hyatt Regency should be welcoming, like home away from home. So far with my experience just with the phone conversations is persuading me to look elsewhere. I expected better from Hyatt.

The tall ceilings and quiet rooms--thanks to excellent insulation--made the stay very comfortable. I also liked the different water options available near the front desk, especially since the bottled water in the rooms cost $10 each. The music in the pool area created a great atmosphere, and the jacuzzi was a nice size and very enjoyable. However, the main issue was the mandatory valet fee--even when not using valet service. This makes no sense and feels unreasonable. If arriving by Uber or not bringing a car, there is no justification for being charged valet. The website does not clearly state that valet is mandatory, and there was no prior notice when booking. At check-in, staff simply said, "We have to charge it anyway," regardless of whether the service was used. The fee is also quite high at $52 per night, which adds up quickly for a service not utilized. According to previous reviews, valet fees have increased significantly over the past three years. I would not stay at this Westin Hotels & Resorts location again. The accumulation of mandatory fees makes the experience feel transactional rather than guest-focused. I would much rather voluntarily tip valet staff when I actually use and appreciate their service, rather than be required to pay a substantial fee regardless of need. Overall, while the hotel has many appealing qualities, the mandatory valet charge without clear disclosure or usage was a major drawback.
