My driver hit a dog during my ride, and while I'm not sure of the outcome, it appeared to be a…read moreserious (potentially fatal) injury. I was also concerned that the driver was frequently distracted by his phone-making calls and texts, as well as scrolling-for much of the drive. It was a very disheartening experience, and I believe it could have been avoided if the driver had been more attentive. Based on this experience, I won't be using South Bend Taxi again. EDIT: I've read the owner's response and would like to clarify a few points. The accident occurred on an empty street around 5:30 AM with no traffic, and I was the one who contacted the police. We resumed our trip after the officer arrived and the police report was completed, as the officer said that an insurance claim couldn't be filed if the driver left prior to completion. I can't say I noticed if the neighborhood was "sketchy" as the response claims, but I'm also not certain I see how it's related to the incident. While I've had several successful rides with this company in the past, I've consistently observed drivers using their phones directly in hand, not via Bluetooth. Regarding reimbursement, I had not been informed of any prior to reading this reply; the owner simply asked me to reach out, and when I called, I received no response. Unfortunately, the company's reply seems to misrepresent the situation at certain points. I'll add a star to my rating because I appreciate the positive experiences I've had previously and can confirm that I've had good customer service in the past, but I remain concerned about the recurring inattentiveness I've witnessed while riding with this company

I also figured out that she was the owner of "A Call Away Transportation" which I've used in the past and the company had a lot of bad reviews. Probably why she changed the name. When we finally reached the owner, she said the driver had gone to get gas and go to the bathroom. 30 minutes later we were still waiting. When the driver came back, she said the owner had made her go to another town to do a quick ride. When we questioned this, the driver told us that the owner makes her do this often. The owner then gave us extra time for the inconvenience which was fine but when it came time to pay the bill, the driver asked for the whole amount. I explained we already paid a deposit and she told us she wasn't aware of that we had to pay the whole amount. When I took it up with the owner the next day, she said the extra amount was a tip. I tried to explain that a tip would normally be decided by the group and we would give that to the driver directly, but she didn't budge and had still refused to return the $100 that we overpaid. She also has a pretty crappy attitude for a business owner. Avoid this at all costs. Just a quick Google search will tell you that the business has changed names several times because of bad reviews and overcharging.

We were in South Bend about a month and a half ago to attend the Notre Dame vs. Louisville game. We flew into Chicago, grabbed about 12 of his buddies, and made the drive up to our hotel in South Bend, which was a few miles from the stadium. We didn't know how big of a deal parking for the game was going to be around the stadium, or how bad the traffic was going to be after the game, and since there was 12 of us, we decided to get a bit crazy, and rent a party bus to take us to the game, and then hopefully get us out of there afterwards. Afterwards, we had dinner reservations at the Lasalle Grill, therefore we had to get there quickly afterwards. We dialed up Michiana Party Bus, and they had a great special going on, therefore we booked their service. Their service was great from start to finish, with the booking going very smoothly, and the ride was great. We got a tour of South Bend, stopped at Fiddler's Heath for a Guinness or two, then went to Notre Dame Stadium. The game ended in a a Louisville win, which my cousin loved, and off we went to our dinner reservations. We made dinner right at the time of our reso, which was great. I would recommend Michiana Party Bus to anyone who is in the Elkhart or South Bend area!
