Sends driver out, all good, except the AC was not working on a 90 degree day, until about 15 minutes into the 20 minute ride. All good, everyone survived. Arriving at the restaurant, the young woman driving pulls out a Credit card reader and quotes triple the price, and tells me she will only get paid on tips. Fortunately I had both ( owner and brokered agent) numbers. called them both--got yelled at by the broker, repeatedly thrashing me, and telling me she had us down for 12 drivers, attempting to add another 50% onto the fee. I felt like an ass arguing in front of clients, but was forced to square up with this woman, adding almost $200 to the original price to ensure that I would not get stranded, 20 miles away from our resort. Tough to find the silver lining in this one.

Prior to the trip I sent them our itinerary- with timing and our reservation time. We got on the bus after our third stop assuming we were going to the forth reservation, but the driver just started driving us back to our house without saying anything. I asked where we were going, he said the time is up so I'm taking you back- I told him that wasn't right, that I had discussed/emailed the plans with the office. His next response, was well this is what it says on my phone and I have another limo group I have to get to. He dropped us off and sped away. I also asked our driver to give us a heads up when we had about 10 minutes before we needed to leave. He never did this. And in fact when I rounded up our group to go to the second stop he was parked down in the parking area chatting with another driver. I've planned over 20 wine trips around the country, and I've never had a driver do these things. I called the office several times and was told a manager would contact me, of course they never did.

We flew into Chicago, grabbed about 12 of his buddies, and made the drive up to our hotel in South Bend, which was a few miles from the stadium. We didn't know how big of a deal parking for the game was going to be around the stadium, or how bad the traffic was going to be after the game, and since there was 12 of us, we decided to get a bit crazy, and rent a party bus to take us to the game, and then hopefully get us out of there afterwards. Afterwards, we had dinner reservations at the Lasalle Grill, therefore we had to get there quickly afterwards. We dialed up Michiana Party Bus, and they had a great special going on, therefore we booked their service. Their service was great from start to finish, with the booking going very smoothly, and the ride was great. We got a tour of South Bend, stopped at Fiddler's Heath for a Guinness or two, then went to Notre Dame Stadium. The game ended in a a Louisville win, which my cousin loved, and off we went to our dinner reservations. We made dinner right at the time of our reso, which was great. I would recommend Michiana Party Bus to anyone who is in the Elkhart or South Bend area!

I was also concerned that the driver was frequently distracted by his phone-making calls and texts, as well as scrolling-for much of the drive. It was a very disheartening experience, and I believe it could have been avoided if the driver had been more attentive. Based on this experience, I won't be using South Bend Taxi again. EDIT: I've read the owner's response and would like to clarify a few points. The accident occurred on an empty street around 5:30 AM with no traffic, and I was the one who contacted the police. We resumed our trip after the officer arrived and the police report was completed, as the officer said that an insurance claim couldn't be filed if the driver left prior to completion. I can't say I noticed if the neighborhood was "sketchy" as the response claims, but I'm also not certain I see how it's related to the incident. While I've had several successful rides with this company in the past, I've consistently observed drivers using their phones directly in hand, not via Bluetooth. Regarding reimbursement, I had not been informed of any prior to reading this reply; the owner simply asked me to reach out, and when I called, I received no response. Unfortunately, the company's reply seems to misrepresent the situation at certain points. I'll add a star to my rating because I appreciate the positive experiences I've had previously and can confirm that I've had good customer service in the past, but I remain concerned about the recurring inattentiveness I've witnessed while riding with this company

We had made our guests' welcome bags with the shuttle information prior to the event and we found out the timeline that we had sent to the shuttle company a few weeks prior never was approved by their team. We ended up having to rent an additional shuttle to make our flow of events work. In addition, we had an after party and the bus had no music on it. This just led to a quiet ride and bored us a bit on the ride back to town. Having some tunes would have helped! They did what they had to do the day of and executed just fine.
