This park is awesome open gym it feels so surreal to be at this park this day and age and see kids enjoy the environment/atmosphere. It's like kids don't go to the park anymore. They'd rather stay indoors on computer, on phones (social media) or just lounge around watching tv. Life is happening all around you. Get up get out and get going. Plus, doing activities at the park is a healthy move keeps the kids actively involved in something rather it's playing basketball, passing a ball around, tag, roller skating, skate boarding, on the playground (monkey bars, slides, swings) etc. I miss this for the kids today. I'm so happy I gave two very active boys whose into sports (basketball) so why not take advantage! The park is where kids need to be doing living an active healthy life. read more

Very very nice park and neighborhood with a beautiful and spacious community center. I had my great nieces and also my uncle memorial there for a small repast and it was perfect. NOW THIS IS WHEN I WISH I COULD GIVE 0 STARS !!!!! Not to the park but to the Sherriff, Lawndale PD, and the local neighbors. They were very rude and racist. They sent police TO THE PUBLIC park (In which we paid to rent out the center), and they first made up a story that someone reported street racing *we were all parked and had been parked for hours* and then he came right back around trying to be apologetic about the reason we were there, he still said now that neighbors were reporting noise and DANCING. I didn't know dancing was a crime!!!!! Now just the week prior we were there for my Uncle who is of another race and there were no problems and the same things were occurring in the center and parking lot but now this time around it's African Americans and now it's an issue. They had a police car sitting adjacent to the park for the remainder of the event which made us feel harrassed and we ended up leaving our paid event due to being uncomfortable and afraid of what other lies an issues they were going to create. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN AND ONLYYYYYY BECAUSE OF THIS!!! If you need somewhere to book an event I would suggest them. Just make sure you guys are not dancing, it might be mistaken for a crime smh read more

A great park; one of the few in the area that I can tolerate. The parking is simple unless it's a busy time of day. The equipment is extensive enough to keep my two kiddos (ages 8 and 5) entertained for hours. There's a large grass field behind the park, which I love to walk around sometimes while dreaming of not being in a city. There are plenty of picnic tables available to sit at. Restrooms and water fountains available. And during certain hours, there are people in the little center next to the park who are super friendly and have things like band-aides available for free if you need them. The fruit trees are lovely when they're in bloom, and overall the people who visit are kind. read more

Couple of things to watch for: 1. When entering the park, if you're headed to one of the picnic tables, be careful walking through the grass because there are lots of spots that stay wet and muddy. 2. Birds love this area, so if you want to use a picnic table to maybe eat some lunch, bring something to wipe your area ahead of time, or use a small table cloth (sometimes lots of poop around). 3. The trees give some excellent shade. Depending on how the weather is, it tends to get chilly. Plan accordingly. 4. It's a great little park to relax in for the middle of the day and pause. read more

Reviewing the tennis courts only. Giving the courts five stars for maintenance, availability, and lighting. Each time my bf and I have come to hit balls, there's been at least one court open- and this is during peak after work hours. I can't say the same for the Holly Glen courts which are always preoccupied and I live across the street from those! I would like a practice board but not make or break. read more

Del Aire Park - Parks Near Me - Hawthorne, California

This park is walking distance from my house and initially I loved it. The equipment is great and I love how they have apparatus's for both the younger and older kids. Some people commented how this park is pretty small but I don't think it's bad at all. Plenty of room on grassy areas, a huge open field and two swing sets along with the playground. Honestly I'm only deducting two stars because this playground is splinter central!!! Literally every single time I take my 2 and 10 year olds to the park, I am having to pull large splinters out of them and you can imagine how difficult that is with a 2yo. I myself have also been injured multiple times just by walking across, the wood chips punctured through my sandals and stabbed my foot. I even got harder sandals and I still have to use pliers to remove the wood chips. DO NOT wear or let your children wear sandals to this park, it is 100% a safety hazard. I've basically just stopped coming here because the worrying about the wood chips make it pretty unenjoyable. Instead we've been going to other nearby parks that have the shredded rubber and I don't have to worry about injuries when the fall down. read more

Del Aire Park is a cool little park next to the Denny's/corner of El Segundo Blvd and Isis Avenue in Del Aire. You might miss it if you were driving by. It's not overly huge but it's open officially until 10:00PM i believe and it has several barbecue pits. It's located right next to some tennis courts and is fairly close (about 1/2 mile)from the El Segundo Green Line station. There are nicer parks in the Southbay, but if you live in the area and want to get outdoors to light a barbecue with your familiy or friends, maybe after playing tennis, or soccer as I saw some doing, this is a cool little secluded park with tall trees, grass, and barbecue pits. A great place to finish a weekend bike ride through the neighborhoods or maybe hold a little outdoor workout class as i saw others do. There's also a little playground for kids, a gymnasium, and outdoor lighted basketball courts too. read more

Del Aire Park - Parks Near Me - Hawthorne, California

Del air park is located in a residential area of hawthorne near the 405 fwy. It has two play structres, one for the older kids(ages 5-12), and one for the younger kids. There are slides, monkey bars, sand tables, 2 rock walls and tons of swings. The only bad thing about the swings is that there are only 2 baby swings and these 2 baby swings sit really high making it difficult to sit the kids. There are also various tables and benches surrounding the playground equipped with bbq pits which make it easy to cook while you watch the kids. Warning though, this park get busy on the weekend so plan to get there early if you want a bench near the playground. read more

Very nice park, clean, kids are for the most part respectful. It gets a little crazy on weekends, especially in the summer - tons of birthdays. But it has a huge play area with an area for little kids and an area for big kids. Also a cute fruit tree orchard. Lots of picnic areas/tables. There's a community center that gets used a lot. Always seems to be enough parking. read more

This is a small park located in the Del Aire Neighborhood near El Segundo and Inglewood. There is some playground equipment and a grassy area to relax with friends. It's nice to have this green area brightening up the older residential streets. It is very small though and can't accommodate many people. read more

Del Aire Park is under contructions. The parking lot is limited. Watch out for the pigeons. They will attack your opened food items on the picnic table. When construction is done, this will be a very nice park to hang out during the day. read more

I don't care for the bark used, make sure u have sneakers on...I'm big on clean bathrooms n theirs never is. Use the indoor bathrooms in the community center, but not open on weekends. read more

I think I might have found another park for my kiddos to go to. The place is spacious, maybe to its own determent. I prefer parks that are enclosed so I can let my kids be on a longer leash. I do not recommend this park for the little tikes. I found parking easily but it was not a busy day at the park in general. I did not go into the bathrooms but the drinking fountain was clean. read more

This is not even a park. This is like a rest stop you would see on the 5 going from SF to LA. Actually the rest stop makes this place look like paradise. I would recommend not coming to this place. I think the grassy area has been shut down too. read more

I used to come here when i was a teenager they have changed things around since i now live in the neighborhood i like to ride my bike through the park. I'm not sure i would call it a park because they have added more buildings and its less park and grass. they added a community building right in front and I'm not sure why maybe i should go walk in and see. they have a gym where a lot of children and teens play basketball i believe that's the only thing that keeps this place going because there aren't much swings and things since they have remodeled. i believe its still under construction but overall its a nice little pit stop if your in the area read more

The park itself is very nice. Clean, safe. But some genius decided to permanently close the north entrance to the parking lot, which creates lots of traffic congestion at the south entrance/exit. The entrance/exit is not wide enough to allow incoming and outgoing traffic, so you're stuck in the street waiting to enter, or inside the lot trying to exit. It would have been smarter to have the traffic in the lot flow in one direction, entering at either end and exiting the other. It's not rocket science. read more

Decided today to search for a new park to take the kids, having had my fill of just about every park in the South Bay and came to Del Aire. Gotta say that this place has two of the best play structures around. My nearly 2 yr old was super safe in the tot lot and my nearly 5 yr old was thoroughly challenged and entertained in the big kid structure. Two cool rock wall structures topped it off. read more
