a bar with a clock and pennants on the wall

This neighborhood landmark has long been a fixture on Larchmere and has consistently served good food and drinks. One afternoon my friend and I decided to stop in to grab lunch and we opted to sit outside on the patio. The vintage interior is inviting and offers plenty of space at the long bar and a wealth of drink options! Since I wasn't feeling very adventurous, I went with a quesadilla and a rum and coke. Although the food took about 45 minutes to be brought to the table, it was nonetheless tasty and quite satisfying. That is the only reason why I omitted a star. Other than that this time honored locally owned and operated establishment is a solid choice for a few drinks and tasty fare in a lively setting.

What a great little vibe this spot has...a total neighborhood bar atmosphere where the owners clearly knew lots of folks in the place as they "worked the room". My wife and I decided to share a few dishes (as we most always do). Our server suggested we order their signature burger and one of the flatbreads. We started off the meal by splitting the house salad with herb vinaigrette dressing (they were out of the green goddess...d'oh!). The dressing was tangy / zingy with a nice selection of greens and a few veggies. Salad came with a nice piece of fresh bread and butter on the side. The two main dishes came out together. The Little Spice flatbread was built around chorizo and a few different grilled veggies (like onions and red peppers). Unfortunately, it was too doughy and lacked any depth of flavor; I could taste the onions, peppers and chorizo but it needed their Academy Sauce to give it some bite. The Academy Burger was a little overdone and was decent but nothing "Wow". It was served with two kinds of cheese and strips of bacon. I also used their Academy Sauce on the burger, which is like a creamy and spicy thousand island dressing. Fries were well seasoned and would have been good, if they were hot. I think I may have to give this place another try sometime as so many others have really loved it...I would call it more like just above average.

I was in the area for a local Yelp Elite event so I stopped by here for dinner with fellow Yelpers. Atmosphere: Casual ambiance. Big space. A bit dark inside. I wish there was more natural light. Food: I ordered the chicken parmesan sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was okay but there was too much marinara sauce (tomato red sauce). I think the sandwich would have tasted better without the the sauce actually. I ordered in a little bit of a rush so I couldn't really look at the menu but in my head the fact that marinara sauce was in this sandwich didn't quite make sense since you normally find that in Pizza. Anyway, the sweet potato fries were great though. Service: Quick service and friendly staff.

Came in town for business and to see some friends. I needed a place to watch the basketball and enjoy a nice drink. I was lucky enough to find this place. It is a small neighborhood bar that feels homey. It has a nice outdoor open space in the middle. The server immediately asked if she could get me food or a drink. I ordered the tavern burger, wings and a rum and coke. The drink and food came out quickly. It was cooked to my request of medium well. The wings were hot and crispy, just the way i like them. During these tough Covid times this bar came through. The owner manager was also cool. Very hospitable. I definitely suggest you stop by if in town

This place was A-OK but nothing to brag about to friends. It was definitely a chill bar vibe with bar style food and there was plenty of seating for our group of 6 around 5pm. The menu has a decent variety and prices aren't horrible but some things seem more expensive than the vibe of the place. Gives you the idea of a regulars place as people knew each other by name and servers sat down with visitors. Our food took a very long time to come out and we were rushing to scarf it down to make it to our event in time. I got the Academy Burger and it was pretty tasty but the tots were the best part. Beer was cold and a good variety but no specials for craft beers during HH so typical price. We had fun with one another but I wouldnt go back again for the food or drinks unless all my friends chose to meet there and I wanted to stop in to see them or something like that.

At the best bar in cleveland, polishing down the best burger in cleveland with a great cleveland beer!

Basic local bar for shots and beer. Good draft selection. Mediocre food served in styrofoam. Occassionally some good love music.

Figured we'd give Tommy's a shot, not knowing it's this long-standing institution with a devoted fan base. That fandom is deserved. Brightly lit, clean, friendly staff. We were seated immediately. Really interesting menu with a lot of vegetarian and eclectic choices. $5 basket of fries was wayyyy big and some of the best fries I've ever had - a nice crispness on the outside, while fluffy inside. Wife's spinach pie with muenster cheese ($11.85) was flaky and generous with the fillings. Loved my $3 phosphate. My DC falafel sandwich ($14) - with sesame seeds, cheese, sprouts and tomatoes - was crazy big and the falafel was perfectly cooked, with a nice crunch. Our server Kelsey was really personable. All in all, just a great dining experience and if we lived in the area, we'd be frequent fliers at Tommy's.

And they kindly found a table for us. I really appreciate that. On the other hand, the only word I can think of that describes the place is ... "Disheveled". That's all I've got... Disheveled. It was a bit messy, a little out of order and busy. The waitress was a very kind lady that really did do a good job in taking care of us. She was attentive, pleasant, and on the ball. The menu is extensive and the food was as you would expect from a diner/deli type restaurant. It was hot, substantial, filling, and arrived fast. There was a lot of it so we took half of it home. The coffee was very good and so was the ice cream. Considering that we ended up with a bill for only $51, I think we did all right.

So many great restaurants in Little Italy that it's hard to walk in to a random establishment and not have a great meal. But this little bar tucked away at the corner right before heading up Mayfield hill is a hidden gem. It's not a big place. It's not fancy. It's a "bar". But I promise you... they have GREAT food here! There's always a crowd at the actual bar during the few times I've gone, but for as small as the dining area with tables is, I'm a bit surprised as to why it isn't full of diners more often. Perhaps because they've labeled themselves a "bar" and maybe most passerby's think you can only drink there. So this is my one little way of getting the word out: EAT @ BORGATA!!! You won't be disappointed... Especially if you try the blackened chicken Alfredo! Perfectly seasoned, super tender chicken, creamy Alfredo sauce, with the 3 pieces of the most perfect garlic toast - it's carb heaven on a plate!!! DO IT!! One of the greater things about this establishment is that if you savor and enjoy your meal and drinks patiently enough and not rush out, you'll likely meet the chef as he goes from table to table asking how you are enjoying your meal. Twice I've had a nice conversation with Chef Armun, this time a little extended as we got to know more about each other. One of my friends happen to mention that it was my birthday. Jerk! (something I don't really like to announce). Then something happened when we were done with our meal and were on our way out. Chef Armun stopped us and said "Can you give me 5 minutes? You can't leave yet." I'm confused, but said "oooohkay, sure." A few minutes passes by and comes out with a slice of the most decadent cake with a candle on it and the whole place started singing happy birthday! For sure an occasion I will always remember. And it's things like this that endear places and people near your heart... where and when you truly feel treated as friend or family by a small, local business. To Chef Armun and Borgata... thanks for the impactful experience!! To everyone reading this: EAT & DRINK @ BORGATA! You won't be disappointed!

The spicy sausage tortellini was also very good. I'd be surprised if this sauce wasn't home made, it was chunky and perfectly balanced and didn't taste premade at all. I'm not usually a sauce girly but I was scooping it up with the bread that the pasta came with. The interior is comfortable and welcoming. The ambiance was a great vibe over all but the service was... weird. Usually when I was to dine in Little Italy I've learned a reservation is key so when I saw they take reservations I made one. There wasn't a host or even an obvious place to check in so we stood kind of awkwardly for a minute unsure if we were supposed to wait for someone or seat ourselves. It wasn't until I walked further in to use the bathroom that an employee asked if I wanted to be seated. The majority of the service was weird. We ordered drinks and the appetizer and then got a blank stare followed by "well do you know what you want to eat to or?" Thankfully we had both looked at the menu online earlier in the day so I was able to make a choice without feeling overwhelmed but it was just mildly off putting. We never got refills on our drinks and it took a very long time to get the check. Thankfully the server who brought out check and boxes (different from the two other servers who had been by the table) was very friendly and seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had everything we needed. I wish I had caught her name, but if management is reading this the server with long brown hair working the evening of 10/24 was absolutely lovely. She'd get a solid 10 out of 5 stars.

The same server went over the menu with this couple extensively, showed them the front board with their specials on it and what meat & cut came with each number and special and how it was cooked etc. We just felt a little sad that, probably because we looked very young we weren't treated the same But regardless the dinner was phenomenal and our server was still very sweet to us!
