Absolutely avoid this guy…read more A month or two back my girlfriend went off the road during the first snow we got. Insurance set up the tow, and apparently gave him the wrong address as they got it through GPS. He also went to the wrong vehicle and called her angrily asking where she was. Apparently it was less than a mile away. So he charged our insurance "double" for the "inconvenience". This alone would not warrant a bad review, however the rest of the experience did. He spent his entire time there berating and yelling at my girlfriend, telling her that she shouldn't be out, her tires were bad (I bought them myself, they had the best rating for Snow/Ice according to Tire Rack at the time). He said she shouldn't be driving at all period (insulting her driving skills), asked her if she knew left from right, and a bunch of other extremely unnecessary BS. There were 3-4 other vehicles off the road as well. So much so that a State Trooper came out and was trying to keep the scene safe because so many people had gone off. The state trooper even commented to my girlfriend that the driver was rude and that not all tow guys were like that. I just found out about all of that this morning. I will be telling every single person I know to NEVER use Bradford's towing just from this experience alone, and I will tell them the entire story about his unprofessional attitude. Oh, and it's not even a real tow truck, it's just a guy in a pickup with a winch.

My RV wouldn't start. After I spent an hour and a half calling everywhere, only to be told 'We…read moredon't handle that kind of work', or that they were booked solid, Bradford's came out and helped me get it running again. They went above and beyond the call of duty, and I'm very grateful.

So to update my review; I had my car towed to my home, as per my agreement with Dave's. Having…read morespoken to the mechanic there at length, his estimate to my ears seemed like overkill on an old vehicle. However, a few things: firstly, it had been sitting around for 8 years without usage. Secondly, in that time the vehicle had aged to 25 years (doesn't seem that long to me!) and the parts just plain rusted out. When I saw the vehicle the gas tank looked in sorry shape and was badly rusted--clearly needing preplacement. The vehicle transporter said the same thing. That it wasn't worth any further investment in parts or reconditioning. It was simply too old and the frame didn't look good. I didn't appreciate this analysis because it never occurred to me that this was the situation; hats off again to Dave's mechanic--Ricki--who accurately gave me the bad news that I couldn't appreciate.

While cleaning out my old files, I came upon our receipt for Dave's from three years ago. Our…read moreexperience was significant enough that I thought I should make a review. In August 2015, we were traveling to a campsite on Mt Desert when my Sube's exhaust dropped off! That long stretch on Bangor road before Ellsworth. It was getting dark. Used USAA to get number for local tow. The driver from Dave's was out really darn fast, dropped my wife and daughter off at at nearby motel, drove out to the service location with the car and then gave me a lift back to the motel (admittedly, that was on her way back, but still it was a nice thing to do). Fast, friendly, fair priced - aces all around.
