This bowl was next level -- the prettiest one I've ever seen and somehow even better tasting than it looked. First of all -- it's ALL VEGAN. Everything. No weird additives, no junk, just high-quality superfoods layered perfectly. You can literally taste the freshness and care in every bite. The açaí was thick and smooth, the chia layer was perfect, the strawberries were insanely fresh, the granola had the best crunch, and the drizzle on top? Unreal. And the girl working there? AMAZING. So kind, so welcoming, and she made the bowl with actual love and precision. You can tell she takes pride in what she does. She made the BEST açaí bowl in the world. Period. Ok there's quite a few problems I have with this place so here's a long list of my dislikes…read more -Extremely expensive with small portion sizes, not worth the price whatsoever. -They claim the juices are fresh but sit in their fridges for days. I scratched off an expiration date and found another label underneath! They just slapped a new one on to make it look fresh. -The soups are left out for at least a week and are heated at the beginning of the shifts. The heaters for the soups are turned off when the closer leaves. I was there at the opening time a few months ago and I guess one of the employees forgot to turn the heater on and I was served a cold soup. The soups are rotting and changing temperatures and they continue to serve it!!!!!! -The açaí used is not actually raw açaí berries but packets of frozen açaí which is extremely concerning for an "acai bowl and smoothie place". -As I was waiting by the counter for my bowl I heard the employees discussing a RAT ISSUE that they said had been persistent for multiple weeks!!! One of the employees told his coworker that A RAT HAD CRAWLED INTO THE REFRIGERATOR!! I'm not ashamed that I was eavesdropping on their conversation because this is ridiculous! Once the other worker noticed me listening they instantly stopped talking and started whispering to each other, then tried to pretend like had nothing happened. -Lastly, a majority of the employees are incredibly rude. When you ask for simple modifications some of them groan or complain. They expect tips for little to no effort and stare like you did something wrong even though they have a job to do. After one employee was rude to me when I asked to swap almond milk with water on my açaí bowl, I asked for her name. But after asking, she gave me a DIFFERENT EMPLOYEE'S name in order to cover herself!! (I printed a receipt and saw her real name). But, some of the employees were very nice and asked me how my day was going every time I ordered or continued conversation with me. Overall, this establishment has reached its last straw for me. I'm tired of dealing with the nonsense this place offers and am excited for it to be replaced with apartment homes in the near future. Hopefully this will bring in tourists to Carlsbad rather than waste the pretty lawn it sits on.

Shoutout to Ignacio, Violet, and Dom for somehow making every visit feel like I'm a VIP walking into a five star resort instead of just grabbing coffee. Ignacio is the man. Every time I come in, he's got a great attitude, remembers people, and somehow manages to keep everything running smoothly even when it's busy. Dude could probably coordinate air traffic control if he wanted to. Violet is one of the friendliest people I've ever met. She's always positive, welcoming, and somehow has the ability to improve your mood within about 10 seconds of walking through the door. If Better Buzz ever loses her, they better start updating their resume listings immediately. And Dom? Absolute legend. The guy brings so much energy that I'm convinced he's running on a secret espresso blend the rest of us don't have access to. Every interaction is genuine, friendly, and makes you actually want to come back. Honestly, these three are the reason I keep coming here. The coffee is great, the location is awesome, but the customer service is what really stands out.
