I wanted to just take a moment to personally thank the pharmacist Alicia who really went above and beyond to help me obtain a very important medicine for my teenage son in a moment's notice. She really went the extra distance and even made a telephone call to one of our secondary insurance providers to expedite matters so there wouldn't be a delay. I had been using ACCRX for 15+ years to provide a special medication that needed to be compounded but we recently switched to a local large chain pharmacy because my son no longer needed the liquid form and could finally swallow capsules. Due to recent developments with said large chain pharmacy, we had to revert back to ACCRX and they really saved the day. I am so relieved and thankful. Thanks again Alicia and ACCRX. read more

My teenage son was diagnosed with EoE a pretty rare illness of the esophagus causing continual vomiting and nausea. After trying every medication possible including taking 4 Prilosec a day, multiple endoscopies xrays and lab tests, he was put on a compound medicine specifically mixed by ACC Apothecary. 6 months later we got the green light from his GI Specialist to discontinue the compound medication. I cannot thank ACC Apothecary enough for the specialized care in mixing his dose, delivering on ice to my door, answering all of my crazy questions as a concerned mom and the caring attitude of every single staff member I ever spoke with, I felt this was personal for them too and without them, I would be still be going through this nightmare. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. But Yelp doesn't let me do that. And now you're thinking "why would he want to do that?" Let me tell you the story as to why- I am a proud new father of a baby girl. And she's a baby girl who has terrible acid re-flux- so bad that you can hear her burp up stomach acid... which is shortly followed by eruptions of cries due to pain. It's horrible because there isn't a thing you can do for her... until you learn from your pediatrician that there is help: mixed prilosec from your local compounding pharmacy that you give to her in oral format. Holy cow! My sleepless nights will be over! Not. So. Fast. Literally- Upon ordering my prescription, called in at 10am, America's Compounding Pharmacy asks me "when would you like to pick up your prescription?" I couldn't say "TODAY' fast enough. "OK, sir, you can pick up your prescription after 3pm today, but come before 6pm when we close." DEAL. Show up at 5pm and inquire about my order.... it's not ready yet. And it won't be ready before tomorrow. I politely tell them that I need this yesterday, and that they told me I could pick it up before 6pm. "Hold on.... (walks to the back... comes up front after 15 minutes, literally) We'll have it ready for you in like half an hour!" No problem. I'm cool with this. I need this stuff because I have a baby in pain. Well, I take it home after a reasonable 1/2 hour wait (I don't care and can't knock them for this at the time because I was desperate), and slowly find out that the medication that they gave me isn't working. The pediatrician told us it could take a day or two to work, but this stuff clearly isn't working, at all, after 3 days of usage. Well, at this point, we chalked it up to having a problem child and move on. And on day 5, a mystery bottle shows up in the mail from America's Compounding Center. Ok... so we'll use this? No explanation. No phone call. Just mystery medication with the same label. And it works! For 2 weeks.... And this is the problem that I have with them, this is why I'm rating them poorly: no one told us that compounded medications with prilosec (main ingredient) are only stable for 2 weeks. You would think that a compounding agency would know this, and tell you about this characteristic of the product they are mixing and selling you. But they didn't. So I was left feeding a medication to a baby that had gone bad for about a week f. This leads to lots of anxiety- the problem of the situation was hard to diagnose if you aren't in the pharmaceutical industry. I brought this odd observation up with my pediatrician and she confirmed it as factual. This was after we had self-diagnosed the problem with the now bad medicine by looking it up on the internet. So thanks, America's Compounding Center. Thank you for not providing any expert advice on the nature of the products you are selling your customers! But it doesn't stop there! Upon refilling the prescription, they've done the same song and dance of giving us the product days later than expected. Granted, they mail it to you so you don't have to waste your time waiting on them to mix you a batch of bad medicine, but be forewarned. Do the following if you choose to use them for your prescription providers: 1. Order your prescription 2 days in advance of when you actually need it. 2. Look up online the characteristics of your medication- how stable it is once it's been mixed? Does it need refrigeration? Do you need to refill it every 2 weeks before it goes bad? 3. Be prepared to wait an hour if you pick up your prescription in person- they will mix it at the 9th hour because that's how they roll. Good luck! I'll be trying to move our prescription elsewhere, unless they read this and straighten their shit out... it might take some time because they're screwed up a refill already and it's been 3 days of me, a screaming baby, and bad medicine. Amazing staff! Always go the extra mile. Our son has a rare food allergy syndrome called FPIES and cannot have corn or corn derivatives. ACC takes great care in compounding all of his medications, corn free. His safety is their top priority. We are so happy we found them 5 years ago! Highly recommend this Apothecary. read more

Excellent customer service, and they carry brands and products you can't find most other places.

The medication I got here was fine, but service leaves a lot to be desired. Most recently I had to chase my prescription for weeks before they finally made it (kept getting silly excuses along the lines of my doctor's fax number not working. Seriously, what's next, maybe the dog ate it?). What finally did me in though was the fact that a week after I was charged for my item, it was still nowhere to be found. When I called to ask for the tracking number, I got attitude about needing to be more patient even though I am in the next town over and it was clear as day that even if this was being hand-delivered by a snail, it would have already gotten to me, had it been shipped on time. Sure enough, I received my package the very next day and when I tracked it, I could tell it was shipped right after that conversation where I was made to feel like a nuisance. If she had apologized about not mailing it out on time, I would have understood, mistakes happen. But I did not appreciate being taken for a fool. When it's time to refill, I will be going to another compounding pharmacy. Irina is lovely, but ultimately it's not enough for me to keep coming back. read more

I used ACC for 4-5 years, but I have switched pharmacies for a few reasons. All of the people I ever spoke to at ACC were nice. But, that's not enough. Once I had a new prescription faxed in, and when I called in for a new prescription, they filled the old one. This went on for a few months before I figured it out. Apparently, there is a lag with their record keeping. Another time I was expecting a prescription and I called to see when it had been mailed. I called on a Thursday morning. The person I spoke with told me that the pharmacist had looked at the tracking info (which they didn't give me at the time) and guaranteed her that it had been mailed on Tuesday. I got the prescription later that afternoon, and the mailing info on the label clearly indicated that it had been mailed on Wednesday. I checked the tracking online and it had of course, been mailed on Wednesday. Also, my doctor suggested that I switch to Bird's Hill in Needham. I did and I've had much better experiences with them. read more

My son had multiple medical issues one of which required him to take Verapamil, an awful tasting medicine. He was about 2 at the time and it was a liquid. Upon receiving the medicine, which we were hopeful would end our frequent hospitalizations, he promptly spit it out as the flavor was really bad. I even tried a tiny amount to see. I called ACC and they quickly did research to find a more suitable flavor that would mask the bad taste of Verapamil and sent us another bottle at no charge. I was prescribed a custom made cream medication which this company made. I was suppose to use a small amount at a time. The dispenser it came in was incapable of dispensing the correct amount and the cream came out in an uncontrollable squirt that left the floor a mess. I'd be interested to know if the mixed my cream badly or if others have had similar problems. I know I will not be using them again if at all possible. read more

We've used America's Compounding Center for our son's congestion medicine. He could not take the regular medicine mixtures you could buy over the counter. They mixed a special flavor and consistency that worked great for our son. I was impressed with their service, they worked with us to develop a mixture that our son would take and they were very helpful. This was very important for our son to sleep through the night. read more

Called for refill; never hear anything back. Called again and they said that my authorization had run out and they would fax Dr. Never heard anything back. I called my Dr. and had him fax over an new script myself; never heard anything. I called them again (it is now 2 weeks with no medication) an they said they had a problem with my credit card...you got it, NEVER HEARD ANYTHING FROM THEM. So they just waited till I called again. Terrible, terrible customer service from a friggin pharmacy at that!! I will be taking my script elsewhere as they have no idea how to handle patients!! read more
