My kitchen faucet was slightly leaking, but suddenly under the sink, in my cabinet, the pipe burst and there was a continous forceful, gushing of water all over the cabinet floor and kitchen floor! All on the day when I was expecting a house full of company for a holiday party. Irving of Accent came highly recommended to me and came to my home within 2 hours and completely fixed the problem that day. He did the legwork needed to get the new faucet and necessary materials to do the job very efficiently. Sometimes you just want to freshen up your bathroom but don't want to redo the whole bathroom. I truly appreciate Irving Sovern's help on this. He switched out my vanity and mirror for these two new ones and now I am feeling better about things. Sometimes, you want to achieve a look but want to be fast and inexpensive about it. The story about how Irving and I met was 10 years ago, I was interviewing contractors to perform quite a bit of work on my home even before I owned it. I wanted the entire place painted and floors sanded and redone with all new moldings prior to my family moving in. He was the only one who was actually cool and had prices to match! Since then, he has done my kitchen, my garage conversion into a home office, roof, painted, replaced doors, sliding doors, built closets, and now finally helped us freshen up our both bathrooms. I get to see some lovely homes with my job and when your own bathroom starts to be cringe worthy due to wear, it's unnerving. So here is a quick fix, nothing fancy just a refresh. It is my personal opinion that this contractor did a horrendous job. He said his work was quality and straight to my face called me "anal". I then escorted him straight out the door after that. I stopped them in the middle of the job because it was the worst quality I had seen in my lifetime. Horrendous job. An Old account This is in Marlboro N.J. Let the pictures speak for themselves. Now he wants to file criminal charges for theft because I will not pay for this? We tore it out and took it to the dump and starter over. His men also did damage to my home. This is the worst contractor experience I have ever had in my life. Is he using the criminal court because he knows he has no case in civil court? How could he possibly think I owe him for this in the first place. Industry standard is sheet rock should be 1/8th of an inch apart no more. When it was hung properly every single one of the spots butted up directly to each other. read more

I have used Irving and Accent for over twenty five years. However I will no longer use or recommand them. This past summer I hired them to power wash, repaint (stain)_ and make minor repairs to my outside deck. This was done in less than two and it look fine. Yes, I paid them in full a high price and no repairs were ever done to the deck. After about two weeks I noticed that finish did not hold and was spotty, not a happy camper . I trie to reach Irving, that took serveral days, he told me he was two busy to come and that he would get back. After a few, I tried again, after several attempts, he did get back but told me he was in Chicago and would call me back, that was near the end of the summer. We hired Irving to do major remodeling in our house, 3 bathrooms, floors, stairs and few other things. He talks a good game initially, but does not deliver on his promises. The job his company did was below average in quality. He brought in guys to work that didn't know what they were doing and they did a horrible job that needed to be redone. It fell on me to tell one guy he was trying to not come anymore because he wasn't good. We called him few months after the job was done to fix the bath tub because the water wasn't holding and to fix the grout that was falling off the walls because it wasn't done properly. He will probably respond to this to say it is inferior grout, but the grout was purchased from top level tile store and is fine. Lack of knowledge from his crew is what caused grout to crack and fall off the walls. While his worker was fixing grout, he damaged one of the tiles and then pretended that it was like that. While changing the drain in the tub, he didn't install it correctly and that night there was a major leak which damaged our kitchen ceiling. I called him and he said he would come, but apparently leaking water to him is not an emergency. He did not show up that day. My wife left a negative review for him and he basically refused to come until she took it down. In the meantime, we could not use the shower. Eventually he did show up and fix the drain problem. It took me another week to get him to come and fix the ceiling. The job that his worker did on the ceiling was completely horrible, leaving my wife in tears. She went online and put back the bad reviews that she left him, adding this episode to it. He responded by texting me and calling her "your low class bitch". If you want a below average job done, full of excuses and insults hire this guy and his company Accent Contracting. Added some pictures to show quality. We were recommended to him, and we regret it!!! If I can give him less than one star I would!!!! I feel like crying every time I think of how much stress and anxiety dealing with him caused me and my husband. First of all to reach him is like to reach a president, never available when needed. Puts newbies to train on job, they screw up and he makes excuses! We had him do 2 bathrooms and lay floors. The jobs are done sloppy, tiles where chipped and still installed, tiles installed incorrectly where they stick out, painters missed spots, new wood floors have damages do to improperly covered floors when placing equipment. Full of excuses for why things went wrong. When txting him/ calling he doesn't respond back until threatened. We signed a contract with him on jobs to have done, he tells us " that's not what we agreed on" - forgets what he promised. After only five months of living in new house his plumbing work caused water damage that we had to rip Sheetrock in kitchen out and install new in ceiling, I have cracks and grout falling out in both newly installed bathrooms. We had been calling him for months, and he keeps jerking us around, so finally his guy comes to fix grout and when removing cracked grout put a huge scratch in a tile, and pretending it was there, they also needed to reinstall tub plug which never was tested, doesn't hold water for kids to take baths, ok " fixed" again caused water damage in ceiling in kitchen second time!!! Again maiking excuses why he can't come to an emergency repair. Now my kids can't use their bathroom until they fix it. If you want to be frustrated, upset, lose time from work/ family to hunt this guy down to fix HIS mistakes, go ahead and hire him. If you want a good job done, I STRESS to you, STAY FAR AWAY from IRVING and his crew!!! Sloppy, irresponsible, unreachable, forgetful!!!!! Our biggest regret!!!!!!!!!!!! Update: 2/20 After second time, the ceiling was ruined, we asked him to come and fix the ceiling, he refused and wouldn't come until my reviews were down. I took them down and he only showed up 3 weeks later. Left a guy to redo ceiling, they refused to open the ceiling up to make sure there was no mold growing, after 30 min of arguing Irving told the guy to open 16" hole to see if there is mold. The result of the "fix" is atrocious!!!! I am so devastated !!!! I know he will follow up with lots of excuses, but pictures speak louder than words !!! read more

I would give is NO STAR if i could. Irving flaked and did a no show today after we confirmed with him not once but twice for our leak job to get fixed up. What upset me most was his irresponsibility of not informing my husband who was waiting for him all morning and took a day off work. The least he could've done was to notify my husband but nope, my husband literally had to hunt him down by keep calling until he answered. How terrible is that to run a business! I would spend more money if i have to on someone else then Irving whom also hung up the phone on us. How unprofessional especially after doing a no show on his client. TERRIBLE!!! read more

Irv and his team are fantastic - they're complete pros, do an amazing job and are EXTREMELY fair and honest with regards to pricing. What started as repainting our house turned into what feels like 50 different odd jobs/projects -gas line work, appliance installation, bathroom tiling, electrical work, plumbing - you name it. they were able to help with every single one. Excellent painting job. They also installed new doors and installed new insulation in my attic. They were on time, professional and delivered. I have been trying for over one year to have this contractor complete the contracted work. My contract included a township permit submission and approval which never happened. In addition, a defective remote control unit on a ceiling fan was never replaced in spite of the fact the contractor was aware of such problems. Irving has been unresponsive to countless of voice messages requesting an appointment at a mutually convenient time. Fortunately I withheld a portion of the overall payment or I would be taking Irving to small claims court. Avoid the aggravation I have experienced and find somebody more professional and qualified to perform you work. read more

This company was supposed to do a main and master bathroom in our home. Owner Irving Sovern promises you the world and really does not come through with a quality job. The company's rates are very reasonable for a reason. The owner admitted to me in a very unprofessional text that I should hire someone who was "not in a rush" and who was "the most expensive" and to make sure to tell them that I was "a pain in the a**" after he found out I was looking for someone else for my other bathroom. I learned my lesson, you pay for what you get. Some examples of mistakes made: Bathtub spout not aligned with drain (about 1/2" off, they should have taken proper measurements), mosaic tile border was indented in tub surround (this was fixed, however, why not do it right the first time?), tile was put in behind and around the vanity before the countertop was installed (this caused issues with installation). The owner does not supervise or visit the job at all until it is done, that gives me the impression he takes no pride in his company's work. read more
