This was just insulting. It's my health, and it's my money, and I have the right to opt out. I'd like to think that professionals could take a hint that money is clearly an issue for me without me having to say HEY, I'M FUCKING BROKE, I'M JUST HERE TO GET A PRESCRIPTION SO I CAN BUY CONTACT LENSES. The icing on the cake was not being given (or emailed) my new prescription at the end of the visit. After I emailed them asking for it, there was another little passive aggressive cherry on top -- part of my prescription was left blank, and I had to dig up my old prescription to find the number (the BC, or base curve, which is either 8.4 or 8.8 when ordering contacts online). So thanks, ladies! Very professional.

Dr. Polsinelli was so thorough and has the nicest personality! Turns out he's married to his partner optometrist, Dr. Miyamoto, who graduated from the same high school I did! Such a small world. His exam and explanations were beyond my expectations. I mean I've been told for years that I had dry eyes, but no one ever said how to treat it other than buy eye drops. Dr. Polsinelli actually gave me a lesson on home remedies and what causes the dry eyes. After talking about my life changes, he also told me he offers free pediatric eye exams to children 6-12 months old. Wow! I just can't say enough about his practice and I look forward to meeting his wife one day!

I'm very pleased with the attention and service here! Specs has a great selection of frames, great staff, and great prices. Dr. Conway seemed passionate about vision, was very conversational, and taught me some things I hadn't known before. He also turned me on to a pair of reading lenses. Liz was super patient and supportive, as it takes me a long time to make a decision about frames. Dr. Conway and his staff are awesome. I had an allergic reaction to something and my eye and right cheek was super swollen. He got me in asap, prescribed Meds for me and gave me his cell number to let him know if I had any issues over the holiday weekend. I really appreciated his concern. They are pet friendly too. The customer service is now shockingly poor. Just getting the initial appointment seemed ridiculous while the person scheduling me seemed to be rolling her eyes when I had the nerve to be questioning what their latest and earliest appointments are. They are close to my house but I work close to Hillsboro which can be tricky to get to or from sometimes. Saturday appointments are not available and even regular appointments are booked out for weeks - perhaps they are so busy that they just don't care? I genuinely do not drive around during the day. I also was not aware they have half of Beaverton under construction so I was running late by about 10 minutes. The entire lobby was full of people and the person at the front had a conversation with the eye person who I think my appointment was with.... the eye person glared weirdly at me. Was it my cane? I was super confused and trying to get to the counter around all the people storming their counter. The person at the counter had wandered away, then over five minutes later they come back finally to say I was now over 15 minutes past my appointment so he would have to reschedule me? I get it if I actually was THAT late and seriously, making the appointment the first time with a person talking down to me was already challenging weeks before but this just seemed like they overbooked and were finding an excuse to just get rid of me. Thanks, got the memo. Oh, look...here's another place my insurance recommends down the road with available appointments today. Bye...

He was very informative and walked me through their scheduling during the lockdown, their pricing etc. I explained that I needed contacts for work and that my glasses weren't cutting it. He immediately checked his schedule and was able to get me in the next day. I received a follow up call the next morning reminding me to bring my eyewear and any info I had on my current Rx. Upon arriving the office ladies greeted me and had me fill out my paperwork. They were very kind and welcoming. My exam with Dr. Freedle was wonderful, he explained so much about my prescription and the different benefits of contacts vs glasses. I had never gotten so much information at other offices. By the time I left I had a new prescription, contacts for the year and drops to prevent dry eye. The cost was extremely reasonable; given the care I received and products, I am very surprised at how much I paid. The pricing is less than most in the area and the service received is 5 stars. Truly a wonderful experience, I will be recommending them to everyone who needs an optometrist. And as of today, I will be a loyal patient going forward. Thank you Dr. Freedle and Office ladies!

I was aware of the policy stating that patients who arrive 10 minutes late may need to reschedule. I made every effort to arrive on time for my appointment. When I walked into the facility at approximately 9:10 a.m., I was greeted by the front desk receptionist, who immediately stated, "We tried calling you." I explained that I had just parked my car and had walked into the facility at 9:10 a.m. The receptionist then looked at her computer and stated that it was 9:11 a.m. and that I would need to reschedule. I checked the time on my phone, which showed 9:10 a.m. I immediately questioned why I would need to reschedule when I had arrived at the office at the scheduled time and was only being told otherwise because of a one-minute difference between the office computer and my phone. I understand that policies are necessary, but I believe there should also be reasonable judgment and consideration for circumstances such as a one-minute discrepancy. I was there for an eye examination that I had scheduled, and both my insurance and I were prepared to pay for the services. Being turned away under these circumstances felt unnecessarily harsh and disrespectful. What was especially upsetting was the manner in which the situation was handled by the front desk receptionist. The interaction left me feeling unwelcome and disregarded as a customer and patient. I have previously visited Spectacle Eye Care because I genuinely like your products and services, which makes this experience even more disappointing. At this point, I do not feel comfortable returning to that location. I also intend to share my experience with others, including clients within my professional network, because customer service and the way patients are treated matter. I will also be reconsidering whether I can continue recommending Spectacle Eye Care to others. I am asking management to please review what occurred this morning, including the office timekeeping and the way this situation was handled by the receptionist. I believe customers deserve to be treated with professionalism, courtesy, and reasonable consideration, particularly when the difference in arrival time is only one minute.
