I called for information on Hunter Douglas shades and had a good talk with a woman here, after which we made an appointment for her and a technical person to come by the house a few days later to discuss details about how the mechanized shades work, and look at colors and fabrics.. About five minutes before the expected arrival that day I had a message saying "we" are running late but "we" expect to be there within 15 minutes. About 30 min later though, the doorbell rang and a man stood there. He did not introduce himself but his shirt was labeled "Hunter Douglas". I asked where the design person was with whom I had spoken and who had sent me that message. He didn't know. He came in and I asked if we should wait for her. He didn't know. No attempt to wear a mask or ask if I preferred he do so, and as he walked into the living room I saw he was wearing dirty tennis shoes as he walked on our Oriental carpet--no attempt on his part to remove or cover them. He was very terse (I could not tell if he was shy or upset about coming alone) but did the measuring. I asked what was going on, as I was expecting a designer to come with color books, fabric etc. He offered he had a color book in his car and could go get it, but I had expected to interact with a designer. He was in and out within five minutes. I called the shop, and another employee explained my contact was with a customer, and then, most oddly, proceded to explain to me what this other customer was asking about and was going to order. I stopped her as I wasn't interested at all in another person's order, said I had had a message that "we" were coming and who was this solo quiet man who turned up without ever giving his name even. I asked for my contact to call me back but was told they close at 2p and she would be leaving (heaven forbid they return a call past 2p apparently). I got the email address and sent off an email saying I found this all very unprofessional. I very well could understand running late with a client, but then why not call to say that and ask if we could re-schedule? But sending out this man alone, an employee who clearly was not at his best when speaking directly with customers and who didn't know what was going on even with his own workmate, was unacceptable. She had my email and phone number, but now five days later still no response. Very unprofessional and apparently don't like being called on it! The whole effect was very disorganized and unprofessional.

Vintage fashion, unique items of yesteryear, and new artisan crafts and practical gifts are meticulously displayed in attractive booths from different owners. Excellent reuse of a historic building. The entrance is #12, just past the overhang connecting this old mill to another terrific old brick mill (that hasn't had a renaissance just yet). You may wonder if this shop is still open, but it is just set back a bit. Worth seeking out!

Most of the businesses are on the first floor, while there are other businesses (like photography and music recording rooms) on upper floors. There's also a music lounge, though I haven't been. And hey, if you can't find anything here, or if you have kids that are fussy, there's Hometown Arcade for old school (and some newer) arcade and video games. (Not really public transportation friendly, though there's a commuter rail station about a 20 minute walk away)

I love going to Weston Nurseries because they make everyone feel like a garden expert. Their staff are helpful and friendly and if they don't know an answer, they'll find someone who does! I was very pleasantly surprised to see their huge selection of perennials had been laid out alphabetically this year!!!!! No more aimless wandering looking for astilbe in the middle of the hellebores or sedum. The prices are a bit higher than other local shops or big box home improvement stores. However, aside from two of the mini plants I bought from the clearance section that died, I have never been disappointed in the quality of things I've purchased there. There were fewer Apple components (as I would expect) but they were still very reasonably priced and in good condition for the most part. My only qualm was with the venders. For the most part they were kind and helpful, mostly nerdy in a charming way. There were, however, at least three instances where venders made very sexist, condescending remarks, such as "you should find a boyfriend who can teach you engineering," or "this isn't the place for a nice girl like you, with all these electronics!" Usually I could forgive this, and in all cases I informed them that I was in fact an engineer despite being a woman (a radical concept, I know), but in all cases, when I asked the prices of different components they gave me ones that were significantly higher than usual. I decided to do an experiment; I had my friend (a guy) go to one of the same venders and ask the price of the same component and the vender's price for him was lower (only by like two dollars, but still).

I did like the bread section some locally made in some generic.. they also have foods that are prepackaged. I like the items that were made at the farm. The others were just overpriced generic items. all in all I'd say about 40 to 50% is grown and produced, the rest are just basic generic grocery items with a higher price on them. The space is fabulous very refreshing and comfortable to walk around. the staff always seems nice, polite, and willing to answer questions. I definitely suggest that you stop in as it is a great place to shop. as for parking, they have a huge private parking lot and space outside to sit. They also have greenhouse plants for sale.
