Fantastic activity for parents and kids alike. We now have a matching set of bowls and mugs. I had to start steering the kids away from the figurines because we ran out of flat surfaces. We also love making Christmas ornaments as gifts. The used book store is a wonderful way to keep the kids busy for much less money than buying new. Great book store with a large selection of used kids books in great shape. My daughter and I are in a mother/daughter book club and I always go there when we have a new selection. I tell the owner what we're reading and he make sure to have several copies. Months ago I bought a book and later that day realized that there was a page missing. I brought the book back by and they exchanged it quickly. They apologized, but it could really happen to anyone, there was no other indication of any kind of damage or misuse. Park Street Books has been in Medfield for years and years and grown constantly. They are currently the largest children's bookstore in New England, and have recently (a few years ago) moved into this larger space on Route 109, from the previous, smaller, space on Park Street. The owner, Jim is constantly at the store, always improving and adding products and features to his already amazing store, and always greets each and every customer. The rest of the employees (normally high school students), are also always friendly, kind, and helpful. They have an amazing selection of children's books, toys, art stuff, and so, so much more. I've driven by this place for years without having ever gone inside, so I decided to take the girls I babysit to go paint ceramics. I didn't even get to explore all of the books and toys, but from what I saw, they had a fantastic selection. The little one disappeared for a long while after her painting was done. The ceramics are super reasonably priced, and it's one of the only places I've ever encountered with no sitting fee. My little one remembered a mug she'd seen there once; she asked after it, and Jim went and grabbed one for her! He was really kind and accommodating. I'm so glad we went, and will definitely return for future book/toy/pottery needs in the future! read more

We are so lucky to have this fantastic store in our town! It offers new, current and excellent books for children of all ages and has a huge selection of used books at an amazing discount! It's also loaded with great games and crafts that make excellent birthday gifts and there is free gift wrapping! The owner Jim is a great guy! He's very knowledgeable and gives great recommendations. He is also very kind and so generous to our schools and the community! My children love going to Park Street to shop and browse, but my little one really enjoys it's paint studio. The best bookstore! An awesome selection of used books for great prices upstairs (even a $1 book section). The room for the youngest kids has a fun train table, puppets and a comfy couch where you can take a break and read. Downstairs, there is a wide variety of children's books, toys and games. They do a great job gift-wrapping presents for free too! Jim and his staff are the best - knowledgeable and friendly. I've also painted pottery which was fun and very reasonably priced. This place has some good finds, BUT my son and I got pricked by a NEEDLE while using their squeeze bottles to paint. Their bottle had a needle sticking out horizontally! Children use these items! When I told the owner, all I received was excuses and a sad apology. DO NOT use their paint bottles! They clearly do not check their equipment! I ended up paying full price for my items that day even though my son and myself had to go to the hospital to be seen due to their negligence! The owner had my number because they call when purchased pottery is ready for pick up. Did they ever contact me to see if my 7yr old was ok???? NO! The prices may be cheap, but I prefer to go somewhere where the owner takes accountability. Will not step foot in this store again! read more

I love this shop! Great used & new kids' books, cool fun pottery painting studio, and friendly staff. The used books are all in great condition, and the pottery shop displays samples of how the colors look after they're finished, which was a big help, since most look very different in the bottle. This is such a great find and a terrific addition to the cultural fabric of the area. They have really hard to find stuff and also an unheard of selection of educational items. My kids love the crazy Aaron's putty, the Japanese eraser collection, and the collection of various trump cards. We spend way too much money here but it pales in comparison to the value we derive. read more

I love park street books it is so kid friendly but the only problem is that everything their is overpriced. But otherwise it was nice also the guy is so helpful he is not the guy to bribe you into buy things he is just their to run the business and he runs nicely so I would say go here check out their stuff it can't hurt. read more

Sorry to hear that Park Street Books is not supporting local schools or students this year. We've bought a lot of books there over the years and know many local families who frequent this store. My daughter went in looking for sponsorship for a school activity as Park Street Books was on the list of past sponsors. She was told a flat out "not this year". At least the owner could have taken the paperwork from her and said maybe. For someone who owns a children's store he is not very tuned in to the courage it takes a young girl to go into a store and ask for something. Way to build up a kid's self esteem. We LOVE Park Street Books. We first discovered it when we moved to the area several years ago. It is really a special place. They have an excellent book selection, a wonderful pottery painting studio and great toys to get as birthday gifts including some unique items (my kids loved the color changing umbrellas that I found there!). This place is perfect! A very nice place to pass the time with your family on a rainy day. You and your kids can paint animals, bowls, and SO much more! There are some reasonably priced toys which are perfect for your kids! Many of their toys are educational, so kids can learn while having fun. They also have an extremely large selection of books for all ages. Basically the whole upstairs is filled with quiet dooms with lots of book and comfy chairs, so you can sit and relax while reading. It's also a great place to get work done. A large portion of the downstairs is also filled with books. The staff is very welcoming and helpful, and they always remember you.
