I hired this provider through Thumbtack, operating under the name "Access Locksmith & Security." From the beginning, everything seemed straightforward: I was quoted and invoiced for high-grade (Grade 1) commercial lock cylinders. But once the job was done, I realized something was off. A second licensed locksmith later confirmed that what had actually been installed were low-grade (Grade 3) residential components -- not what I paid for. It gets worse: the provider removed my original cylinders and doorknob and never returned them, even after multiple requests. Instead, I was offered a refund -- but only if I agreed to sign a non-disparagement agreement. After researching further, I discovered that "Access Locksmith & Security" is not even a registered business name in Florida. The provider operates under different names and entities at the same address. I had to pay out of pocket for a second professional to fix everything. I've since filed a formal complaint with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Be extremely careful -- check the paperwork, verify credentials, and don't hesitate to walk away if something feels wrong. I cannot recommend this provider based on my experience. read more

I was having trouble installing a Schlage deadbolt on my front door.. searched yelp for local locksmith and couldn't be happier with what I found. The deadbolt was completely broken so he took that out and replaced it, and was able to just rekey the bottom lock. From start to finish he was probably done in a half hour, and simple payment through credit card. I will definitely be keeping his number in case any other lock emergencies should arise! I called up needing to change my locks after a tow company ran off with my house keys attached to my car keys for over an hour. I called up and Ed explained that I could simply have the lock rekeyed without having to change the the hardware. He quoted me over the phone and was at my home within 2 hours. After 2 days of looking for my car keys in my home (how embarrassing) I finally decided to call a locksmith. Nissan from Access Locksmith was extremely gracious. He promptly returned my phone call and was there within hours to reprogram two new key fobs. I was pleased to see that he is a licensed locksmith. I even got an invoice not a big deal but it attests to the vibe of the company. The price was competitive (The dealer wanted twice as much). I give high praise for this guy.
