Had a great time at Accordia. The food was fantastic, and the service was great. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. They also have a great selection of worldly wines and beers. The owner is a lively German lady who genuinely wants people to come in, relax, and have a good time. We started with a couple of appetizers -- my wife had the goat cheese, and I had the Chakalaka tapas, which was excellent. It had just the right amount of spice to keep you going back for more. We also tried the Brie, which was really good. For our meal, we split the Croque Monsieur and the Prosciutto Melt, and both sandwiches were outstanding. I would definitely recommend this place, and we'll absolutely be back. read more

This was a very hole in the wall kind of place that I just happened to walk by, and boy was I lucky because this place is good. Food - Their cheese board is good, and their clam chowder was absolutely scrumptious. It tastes incredibly good especially with the good bread they serve alongside it. Their non-alcoholic spritzes are also very interesting because while they do have flavor, they're not sugary at all. Service - Very friendly. Parking - Could be a little difficult to find, but spots will likely be available on nearby roads This place is unique in that it's also a wine shop, with wines from all over the world on the shelves around you. Overall, this place is great. Would highly recommend if you're stopping by Staunton. read more

Staffing. They were full on Monday night with one person working the room. Food took forever. I'm writing this an hour after ordering and no food in sight. I already know I won't be back. Okay the tapas came and I wish they hadn't. I could make these for far less. We went to another place for wings and drinks that we didn't have to wait 90 minutes for. This place is truly a shining star in this town. My partner and I were visiting from out of town to got dinner at another place, and we wanted to just continue the night with a bottle of wine and some conversation. We are not the most well versed with wine and the owner (Angela) immediately talked with us and found the perfect wine for our preferences. What stood out was her willingness to chat and she made sure that we were not in a rush to finish considering it was getting late. Towards the end of the night multiple groups walked in that had obviously formed a connection with Angela through wine tasting classes and she welcomed them with open arms. We also paid and left but struggled to find an Uber back to our hotel so we came back in to get another bottle to take home with us. Our only regret is that we didn't come here before our dinner! My wife and I often come here for lunch dates. We are a huge fan of the delicious food available. It's not the standard chain food and it is apparent that it is made with care. We came in for a wine tasting which was lovely. Paid $25 each with tip so probably $65 total. Came back in to use the restroom and was accosted by the owner to buy wine from their store. We were given a whole diatribe about how she pays her employees fair wages, but I already gave the establishment $65 for a tasting and their wine markup for retail was unreasonable. I don't think you should ever be guilt tripped at an establishment where you are already a paying customer. I've never been confronted that way by a small business. read more

The whole reason we went was to grab a quick bite and a few bottles for our upcoming stay but after we finished eating, we got out of there as quickly as possible. Every single other person we interacted with on our stay in Staunton was absolutely delightful and fortunately, this miserable woman was just a one- off. I would had expected 'what can we do now to fix that?' The bread was not particularly good and a sandwich can only be as good as the bread. It was hard an uninteresting. The French have a word for it (naturally): Epoustouflant. That is to say, breath-taking or flabbergasting. Anyway, really really good. The wines, of which there are among the finest in the world, are simply amazing. (To have not one but two excellent wines of Chateauneuf du Pape really says something, in my book.) The cuisine is splendid. A good variety of dishes, all made with finesse, creativity and attention to detail. Full flavored, and ideal for wine pairing. Last evening my wife and friends enjoyed a white Bergerac I had never tasted (in spite of living three years in Paris and 31 years in the French countryside not far from the domain of Bergerac).
