Zero stars I just got off the phone with Lance H and Mike Rohlf and am extremely upset with how I was talked at and talked over. I signed a contract on September 14th to have five piers installed from inside the basement. There were two men here who assured me I would have a scheduled date within 7-10 business days. I made it known to the company when booking the appointment and also to the men who arrived for the quote that I was selling the home and on a time crunch. On day 10 I began asking when I will be scheduled and stated I needed a date no later than day 11. On day 11 I was told by my salesman that the job could not be completed per my contract. They instead would have to do some of the work from the outside of the home. This is not what I signed for. I made it known that I could not move pipes or plumbing to accommodate changes. I requested a refund. Now day 13, I just had Lance and his manager, Mike, very rudely talk over me and state that I am outside of the 72 hour cancellation window. Which, mind you, not a single person mentioned while sitting at my kitchen island and discussing their personal lives and having me sign a tablet while simultaneously running my credit. I have now asked numerous times to simply be refunded since the job cannot be completed per my contract drawing. They've known since day 1 that the bathroom they now consider an issue could not be moved. I have just been very very rudely talked to by Mike Rohlf who is stating my entire $5,000 is now theirs should I cancel. This is horrible. You've changed the project and I cannot accommodate those changes so you're just going to keep my money? No work has begun. I'm not even scheduled to begin. I called the finance company and there is no account under my name therefore that process has not begun either. I just want my $5,000 back and to be treated like a human. read more

Being new to Indiana, I called all the foundation companies I saw on TV or that popped up in my Facebook feed. Saying I was disappointed with the outcome would be putting it mildly. The salesmen that inspected my house were trying to push hard sales, far exceeding the work I needed done, and a couple were caught outright lying to me. My attempt to find an honest contractor, with the skills and work ethics to quote the work I was requesting and not the work they wanted to sell me, was extremely frustrating. By the time I called Acculevel, I was not the most pleasant person on the phone, telling the operator to not send me an unqualified salesperson. She assured me that would not be the case, but obviously, I didn't believe her. Luke was my salesperson who took the time to listen to what I was trying to do and what my concerns were. He also took the time to inspect my foundation, taking measurements and making a site diagram. Luke discussed his findings with me and presented my options. He, of course, gave his opinion but did not push me in any direction. He was the first salesperson that did not come across as full of ____, making me comfortable to sign a contract for work. Not being the trusting type, I was still apprehensive about the quality of the crew that would show up. Day of the repairs, Ruben and his crew showed up on time. They knew exactly what the plan was and arrived ready to work. Ruben's crew did an amazing job and accomplished the work far quicker than I was expecting. I'd like to thank Acculevel for sending Luke and Ruben. Should I need foundation or basement work next time I purchase a property, I won't be calling any contractor besides Acculevel. his is one of the shabbiest companies I've ever had the displeasure of working with. They started 10 helical piers around my foundation March 2023. They did not get permits as promised. Did all the work before permits were issued. They also tried to charge me for all 10 holes dug saying it exceeded 48". Wanted to charge me over $4500 more on top of original quote. When I measured, some of the holes dug did not even exceed 24". Only about 2 of the piers were obvious that they exceeded 48". But they were very eager to charge me for all 10. I had also paid for cement jacking of the slab in my family room. They managed to drill through my duct work and fill the duct work up with the foam jacking material. Rendering my duck work useless. By November, they had to redig everything up so that the city inspector could inspect the job. I have been calling and emailing multiple time since January 2024. It is now June 2024 as of this writing. They have not completed work. Many cement areas are now more cracked due to over wintering and their shoddy work. I had no complaint about the workers that showed up. They worked hard. But the salesman and everybody in administration were completely incompetent to figure out how to fix their mistakes. They left my house a mess. I have a filed a complaint against Acculevel with the Attorney General. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone! Completely UNPROFESSIONAL. I hesitate to write this review, since our sales rep has been diligently working to resolve this issue (but unfortunately, to no avail). We contracted with Acculevel to install an egress window in our basement to convert a room into a proper, legal bedroom so our daughter could safely move downstairs. The window was set to be installed 5/7; the crew promptly showed up and began excavation outside while one of their crew members started demo inside. After a brief snag with an unexpected pipe in the way (which was quickly resolved), we then discovered that the lintel that Acculevel had coordinated with the stone mason to install was too small to support the dimensions of the window we originally contracted for. The Acculevel crew escalated this issue internally and a few supervisor-type gentleman arrived onsite. We discussed our options and agreed to install a different window (a taller, narrower casement window rather than the originally contracted-for sliding window). As long as the window was safe for egress and met the legal requirements for a bedroom without sacrificing any space inside the already-small room, we were flexible! While the crew continued to excavate and install the window well the new window arrived and was installed. The window well, however, was not set high enough to clear the top of the new window which now was a crank out style. What we didn't realize at the time (and no one bothered to communicate to us) was that since the new window opened outward with a crank and the window well didn't clear the height of the window, the window well cover BLOCKED the window from even opening! We had an egress window that you can't even open. We didn't discover this until the next day and then we promptly communicated this to Acculevel. At that point an Acculevel rep (not sure who) tried to tell us that they communicated to us during the install that they would order a new window that would crank open inward. This is entirely untrue since we never would have agreed to a window that effectively (1) reduces the available floor space of an already small room and (2) reduces the potential furniture layouts of the bedroom. We pressed Acculevel for alternate solutions and they advised that they could install a new, taller window well cover that would hit above the window. This would mean a more obtrusive window well cover from the exterior/street view, but at the end of the day it seemed the best solution. We asked them to move forward and were told they were. Fast forward and after multiple contacts with our sales rep to see the status, we learned yesterday that they haven't even yet identified a manufacturer for a taller window well cover. We feel no closer to having a usable basement bedroom than we were 5 weeks ago, despite playing musical bedrooms with our kids and their belongings! Our plans are on hold, and we have no idea when we will finally be able to safely move our daughter into her new room that she's been patiently waiting for. Five weeks is more than enough time to remedy this issue and yet, here we are - with an "egress window" we can't even open. read more

I called for an estimate to lift a sunken concrete walkway. I had some standing rainwater after a heavy storm. I understood it would cost 2,000.00. I was told this over the phone that minimum work would be 2,000.00. The person (Mitchell) who came for an estimate was here for over 2hrs., which I was not made aware that it would take that long. And for various reasons he made me uncomfortable and had asked me personal questions, of which I told his manager, Mike, Amy, the receptionist, and Mitchell himself. He told me that I needed a French Drain and new sump pump and some other work that would come to 10,000.00. During the time he was here I let him know I wanted to get other quotes. I told him I couldn't afford 10,000.00 and he somehow brought it down to 8,000.00 and I signed a contract, giving him a deposit for 4,000.00 dated 5/3/25 and posted at my bank on 5/3/25. I had 2nd thoughts about this work being done and accessed my bank account to stop payment to find that the check had been negotiated. Days later I attempted to contact someone other than the estimator that originally came to my house. I specifically said I did not want to talk to him as he made me uncomfortable. I was going to be referred to his manager (Mike). 10 min later the Mitchell called me... not his manager!! The receptionist who I talked to told me she specifically told the estimator (Mitchell) NOT to call me. The manager, days later called me back and said I only had 3 days to cancel and that time was up. And he cancelled the contracted work and kept 4,000.00. I asked if he would work with me and just to the work for 4000.00 and he declined. He, the manager, Mike cancelled--not me!! and told me I lost the deposit of 4000.00. There have been several phone calls between 4/14/25 and 4/25/25 to no avail. And I will mention again, I tried to stop payment on the check before the 3 days and it was already negotiated. The work was not scheduled until 5/7/25, which Mike cancelled. read more

A follow up on my issue with Justin Cloud and Acculevel, Just Cloud won't respond to any of my messages but today I spoke with his manager and he started that if I sign the contract then they we refund my deposit within 72 hours, so I signed it, now let's see if he keeps his word. I also filed a dispute with American Express. I signed the contract and the cancelation today, it's so Disappointing, that we have to fight for them to do what's right, if Justin Cloud comes to your door,Don't open it, he is very Rude,estimates are free, at my house for twenty minutes and wants to keep my deposit of $468, I worked all week for that. read more

We have an older home (1908) with a concrete foundation wall that has bowed considerably. We contacted Acculevel for their opinion. The estimator (Sage) was on time, courteous, and was able to give a concise accurate, and honest answer as to whether Acculevel could help us. I would recommend their services. Five stars! read more

One star because the footing work was done eventually. The entire process has been one gigantic exercise in ineptitude and lack of communication. They failed to file the necessary paperwork with my city to begin work for over 3 weeks despite multiple reminders for myself, failed to show up on the scheduled day for work and did not notify me of this, offered a rebate on the work for the rescheduling inconvenience, then reneged on this promise. According to the city they scheduled the inspection to be done on the 9th but work was done on the 10th, requiring the footing to be dug up a second time for review. During the installation, it was also discovered that their sales team use different metrics and measurements than the install crews use, nearly resulting in having to have the steps leading into my front door demolished as they could not install in my crawl space as the sales rep assured me was possible. It is now June 8th, I have had this second set of holes open in front of my property for 5 days now while they continue to delay, reschedule, and then no-show to fill them in, leaving me to spend the day with hand tools doing it myself. The crew that came out for the job we needed done was gone more then they was there . They didn't speak good English and everytime you asked a question they acted confused on what they needed to do. I had to go out and buy me electric cement caulk gun to seal the cracks inside the house, which was supposed to be handled by this company. On top of this the owners were older paid cash for everything and the husband is a Vietnam vet that can't get around. Accu Level overpromised and underperformed. We reached out to have a simple job performed as part of selling our house. From the start, we were told the work could be performed prior to closing. Due to timing and this promise, we did not get any other bids. Upon receiving the contract, we paid the deposit within one hour. From this point on, there was no communication from the business that was not initiated by us. We texted our rep and called the office every day from this point on to see when the work would be scheduled. There was no proactive communication whatsoever. Finally, one day before closing, our real estate agent demand a date to be scheduled and it was scheduled two weeks after closing. Thankfully, we had a flexible buyer who was willing to close without the work being done. On the day the work was supposed to be scheduled, with no notice, it was postponed for another week and the buyer had to find a time to reschedule. This had to be communicated to me by my realtor and not the business. After the work was done, I reached out to our rep to explain how disappointed we were with the customer service. This was verbatim his response: "Please understand this is not our normal scenario and there were people let go/had responsibilities changed because of it." I asked to speak to his manager. Upon speaking with the manager, he said they weren't willing to do anything to make amends for the lack of customer service even with his rep openly admitting that they did not meet their promises. The manager quoted back terms of the contract to me that they are allowed to reschedule and I explained that this was not a contractual dispute, but a complaint about customer service when an employee openly admitted fault and he was not willing to take accountability for his employee. I asked to speak to his manager. This conversation happened two weeks ago and I'm still waiting for that call. Don't use this business if you want any level of customer service. read more

I had them out to work on my basement. They worked and dug the north side of my house foundation and left it open for about 3 weeks while they went to start another job. They came back and filled the trench in during a rainy period. About 2 hrs later my wall caved in and made a big mess in my basement. They decided to settle with me and left me with a 5000.00 dollar loan which I will never pay. Very bad company in our opinion. Will never recommend them to anyone. Not to count the damage my house received during the collapse that they didn't want no part of. Think twice before you decide. read more

I requested an estimate online from this company. When they called to schedule an appointment I was told that they didn't service my zip code. I asked did they service Chicago. She said they serviced Chicago just not 60619 zip code. When I asked why they only serviced some zip codes she stated that they have a problem getting permits in some zip codes. Chicago has the same rules for the entire city. I told her this sounds like some type of red lining when you only service some zip codes. 60619 zip code is on the South side of Chicago primarily inhabited by African Americans and not far from Indiana border. Why would an Indiana company that does business in Chicago not do business in the 60619 zip code...... read more

The first guy was eager to take the deposit without fully assessing the core issue, He seemed extremely inexperienced and worse he apparently doesn't know how to use a phone because calls were never returned. I had them out to my property for basement waterproof and foundation repair. They caused a mess on the property, we're unable to do the scope of work quoted; and caused damage to existing water lines while doing their digging. They confirmed repeatedly that waterproofing mastic would be able to be applied on my basement, literally until the exact moment they took one pass with the excavator (after breaking up concrete, removing an antennae, and a deck; just to commit me further. If there was any question whether they could do the work they claimed, then they should have started on the side of the house that required nothing to be removed. They left trash and debris in the drainage trench (which I had to remove) and the "waterproofing sheeting" is not secured in any capacity, even being worked around other debris that they couldn't be bothered to remove. They left an entire former window opening in the foundation (which was included in the scope and quote), instead choosing to stretch thin plastic over the void- in order to hold back all the dirt up until you reach the grade. Normally you get what you pay for, but they were actually a very expensive company. Communication is terrible once you send them a deposit, and the salesman (who will claim to be a "home doctor)" that sold you on them no longer cares about your project. They also left an entire pallet of ruined cement bags in my driveway, and apparently are just no longer completing the sections that would have been used for. I am extremely disappointed with what I initially viewed as a company ready and willing to help resolve the issues that I handsomely paid them too. read more

Based on an estimate they gave in 2020, Acculevel installed helical piers on the back part of my house after I purchased it. When I got a new job a year and a half later and needed to sell, I discovered that the work they did wasn't even half of what was actually needed, and that I would have to spend several thousand more to complete the job. In discussions with Acculevel, I was told "our guy should have done a more complete inspection" and "I've been in situations where sellers try and manage the contract in a way to save themselves money. That's probably what happened in this case. That's still no excuse, we should look at the whole house." Yet I don't know if anyone was ever truly forthcoming with me about what was going on -- with the previous job and the new estimate of what else was needed -- and I certainly don't appreciate Freddie's attempts to gaslight me while looking at inspection reports. Seven thousand dollars -- which is the discounted price they quoted me only after several hours of back and forth with a sales manager -- is a huge amount of money that I shouldn't have to pay, if only Acculevel had been as "honest and transparent" as it claimed to be when I purchased the home. This is the only Acculevel I can find on Yelp. I will assume it is the same company we used Oct/Nov 2017. Young man that came to the house was very professional. He went under the house and took lots of pictures. When he came back in the house we talked options. We decided to get the house leveled and do mold remediation and preventative. The company had to reschedule once and actually that worked better for us. The work took two days to replace rotted wood and to spray a solution on all the wood to stop current mold and prevent further mold. My only compliant and the reason for 4 stars not 5. They should really tell people to leave the house during the spraying. We had boarded our dogs since they couldn't have access to the yard while the men were working, but husband was home when they were spraying. When I go home from work I could barely breath and was immediately getting a headache. I told him we both needed to leave while the house aired out. We opened all our second story windows and were gone a couple hours. When we got back most of the smell was gone. We turned our HVAC back on and left the windows open a few hours more. I can only imagine someone with allergies or asthma would have real issues with the spray. If someone from the company sees, this please tell people to remove their pets and also leave and air out their house when this spray process is being done. read more

WOW! Reuben the supervisor on the job and his Team partner Brian did an excellent job! If you can imagine a muddy crawl space...they laid a complete vapor barrier the crawl space area leaving it spotless and pure white. You could eat off the barrier. Additionally they installed a sump pump and dehumidifier. Everything was organized and left spotlessly clean! This area was loaded with bricks, pvc pipes, rocks, wood pieces and they made it look like it was just dug in. Acculevel is by far one of the best services we have had come out to our lake house! Acculevel did some foundation repair at the front of our house and as part of the repair, restored a brick Archway on our front portico. I looked up their name on our paperwork from a job they did in 2010, because we now need some chimney repair. They don't do chimney repair, but I just wanted to thank them for the repair from August 2010. We've not had any problems, the front of the house, including the brick Archway looks great, and they did great work. Hoping we never Need more foundation work but would love to use them again if we did. read more

Acculevel came out to look at our basement wall. They provided a quote that was a good value. They recommended a bit more work than the minimum but much less than the maximum. As an engineer, I understand structure but not the day to day application in the field. Acculevel solved the issue, their crew was great to work with and they come in at 25% on cost of the local claimed market leader. I thought they were fair, knowledgeable and the best value out there. We are devastated 100% and will never recommend this company. Our house has been torn up as we've been living in our kitchen downstairs as our living room has been torn out as they were fixing the middle center beam wall and ran into complications with air ducts. The they halted the project to try to figure out what they could do next on March 29th. It became extreme lack of communication and no responses after we had were no showed two weeks in a row by their manager who is coming to tell us the next step of what they thought we could do. As we left messages on that Monday after the supposed manager no showed us two Saturdays in a row they never called back until we called again and again then it constantly became ghosting from their end. I called two weeks ago,,No one ever called us back. my husband text the manager on Monday and I called this morning and talked to a woman as she submitted all this. I feel like we have been more than patient as we have been living since the end of March with no living room and living in our bedrooms upstairs and only in our kitchen. They are supposedly a family, caring and ran business and obviously are none of these. We are mind blown and left hanging as they did not respond when I called this morning and submitted all of these details but to only send an email this evening saying they cannot do this project anymore as we just mailed in a check to start this part of the project again as we've already paid a huge amount for the other part, they are extremely unprofessional, negligence to the extreme. I cannot even believe this and we have no clue what to do next as our house is torn up and they ditched us! We never fathomed to be in the stance after spending a very big amount of money at the start of this. Now we are left just hanging and they could not even have the decency to respond to the text messages and phone calls and now to send an email and not even call and explain things extremely,, unprofessional,uncalled for and we are now feeling lost after 3 months of waiting. Under the father's management, we had good quality work and pricing at our former lake house around 2016. Sidewalks and front step pumped back up to original levels. Since moving to a 1980's house in a different locale, the son has taken over. We were charged for raising sunken driveway concrete sections, and they were to raise a section in the garage and front porch, as well. All three still have drainage issues, and multiple calls brought no return answers. They took our money and did not deliver any results. ot even the courtesy to call back! This was before the covid event affected workers or prices in early 2020. The son is not committed to quality and value for the customer as was the father. What a rip off! Beware. read more

I never write reviews but felt compelled to leave one for this company so other people don't make the mistake of working with them. We contacted Acculevel to have our basement waterproofed. They were extremely responsive and on top of things when setting up the quote but once a contract was signed, all communication stopped. We put the 50% deposit down and had to call in multiple times to get a date set for the work to be done. The date was set and we were told that a manager would be reaching out to us beforehand to go over details and confirm the appointment. That didn't happen. The workers showed up on the appointment day, went to the basement for 10 min, came back upstairs and said "okay we will be right back in!" then went to the truck and left. No communication as to why they left. After calling the manager a few times we finally received a call back and they stated the work that was quoted couldn't actually be done. They asked for more photos of the basement and proceeded to quote more work that was thousands more than the original price. We declined because at this point we were very uncomfortable with this company and asked for our deposit back. We still have not received the deposit back despite calling and texting the manager multiple times. The cherry on top of the whole experience was that when the workers were here for 10 minutes they had apparently turned the breaker to the sump pump off and neglected to turn it back on before leaving. So our basement flooded and we were left with a mess to clean up and no apology or response from this disaster of a company. read more

Although the materials used were not what I expected or what I was used to seeing on a crawl space drainage system, the system works as described, so far. However, follow-up questions and concerns regarding the sump pump discharge not being far enough away from the house to prevent excess water accumulating in the yard and creating swamp-like landscape issues have not been answered or addressed satisfactorily (even though my concerns were reported to 2 Acculevel representatives over a month ago) which is the reason for my 3 star rating. I am reconsidering using Acculevel for any future projects that I have planned because of my experience with their poor customer response to resolving issues after the job has been completed. read more

I rarely write reviews, and when I do, they are good ones. I have never come across a company this shady in my life. I've done business with many contractors. This is the only one to just not respond when there is still a problem with their work. I'd rather stab myself in the eye than call someone back to my house. I avoid it at all costs, but when your elderly mom has paid $12k out of her savings to waterproof her basement, you have to keep calling if it keeps flooding, right? Especially whrn you have a lifetime warranty for a basement with no water. After the 1st time the basement flooded after a big rain, their manager actually suggested that maybe if I just got a dehumidifier (never previously mentioned), that I wouldn't have these huge puddles of water in my now "waterproofed" basement. (Although I now have a dehumidifier so that we can breathe better because all the moisture caused mold..it is not a way to prevent water in a basement..if it were, there would b no need for these companies..each person would just buy a handy dehumidifier-it's ludicrous). I called each time my basement flooded, because I have a warranty for a basement with no water. They have said that they got tired of me calling them back out, and said they have spent extra $$ to work on our basement. Um, if you obviously didn't do it correctly the 1st time, then you work on it until there is no longer water coming in! Not until you are just tired of working on the same problem! If you don't know how to fix it, say you don't know how to fix it! I would respect you a lot more than ignoring calls and letters. It is so unprofessional. They were also able to lift our home to bring it back to a more level condition. Our goal was achieved and while this was a necessary repair the unknown brought us some stress. We are a few weeks out and are more than satisfied, glad that we have this behind us and believe that Acculevel did exactly what they said they would do. Overall, Accu-Level did a great job and very minimally impacted the backyard while anchoring our basement wall. I had to go with 4 stars due to a scheduling error, which was compensated by sending a crew on a Saturday. The price was great and competitive, and the specific wall anchored came with a transferable warranty. We did have to re-do our surface tile since the crew required this to be moved to help them locate a sewer line. I would definitely choose Accu-Level in the future if we have any other basement wall or foundational issues in the future. read more

My husband and I have re-named this company "Acculevel-ish" because of the poor quality of work they did at our house. Had we not complained and persisted in getting someone back to our house to see the terrible job that was done , I'm sure it will still be that way to this day. To begin with, the "project manager" came to our house on Friday and we were told that, due to the age and general configuration of our patio, they would not be able to do what was needed to fix it. We were impressed that they admitted that prior to doing the job and THEN telling us it didn't work. Fast forward to the next Monday when they returned and the "owner" said that they COULD do the job, but they did nothing to fix the things that caused them to decline the job on Friday. Anyway, thinking that they were the experts, we agreed and let them do the job. Big mistake! The cracks in our patio look like they were filled by a 4 year old with holes and bubbles everywhere. They cut around a pole on our porch so that the slab would raise without disturbing the pole which supported the roof. The slab went no where! It is exactly the same level as it was before they started, only now has been hacked up and has the cuts filled (partially as well) with the grout-type filler. The slab was 1 1/4" out of level when they left, clearly without any intention of returning. Then we got the bill for the final amount, less the deposit. We refused to pay until someone came out and looked at the pitiful job that was done. After not returning our phone calls for over a week, the owner finally came out and "did the best they could" to level out the patio (after our contractor suggested taking the weight off of the porch by jacking it up and removing the posts from the porch--"Good idea" they said...) and to fill the rest of the cracks. They still did not completely fill the ones around the pole, and there are still some holes, but it is better than it was. Rather than fight them, we paid the balance to be done with them. For nearly $4000.00, we expected so much more. We will not recommend Acculevel-ish to anyone and hope that they do a better job for the next sucker, er, person.....that they work for. read more

Just had Acculevel install 7 helical piers to stabilize the foundation on my lake house. Raul, Ruben and Miguel showed up on time, worked very hard, did some necessary problem solving, cleaned up the worksite and were done in a day and a half. And the cost was exactly as quoted before the work was started. I was very happy with the process but can't comment at this time on whether my foundation issues were cured as I won't know that until the ground begins to freeze next winter. It was expensive, but will be worth it if it cures my foundation movement problems. read more

This company has excellent customer service. Chris McGirt came in and knew exactly what the crawl space of my home needed, he was very knowledgable, and was even able to tell me some of the previous work that had been done before I purchased my house. He did take the time to verify the situation in the crawl space to make sure a dehumidifier would be the right and only necessary approach for my homes crawl space. All is well in the crawl space now, so thankful!!! read more

These guys leveled my porch... they did it for a great price, and they even gave me a discount for a promotion that had recently ended. They were super professional, and I felt so grateful that they were willing to help me out on price. Also, I have a minor foundation issue, and they could have jumped into a super expensive quote to fix. Instead, they told me how much the fix WOULD be, but that it might be a better plan to just keep an eye on it instead of spending all that money, when we don't know that the problem is really there. Love it when a contractor is willing to tell you that work may NOT need to be done. read more
