I called Accurate Appliance Repair on 12/29/20 to get help repairing a fault with my dishwasher. I spoke with Jack, who was in the middle of another job and explained my problem. He asked me to text him an image of my dishwasher serial number so that he could investigate obtaining a replacement part and promised to call me back. I sent him the requested information that day but never heard back. I followed up again on 1/2, but again, never received a response. This business completely ghosted me. read more

I would have given this a 1 but my first two encounters with Jack were great which is why I called him for a third repair that needed to be done in my house. I had water leaking from my washer, which any condo owner on the second floor can attest to, is an anxiety inducing situation. I called Jack knowing his promptness and kindness from my first two calls. It was later in the day and knew he would not be able to come out that day. He was on the road and didn't really seem to want to be bothered. This perhaps should have been red flag #1. He told me to text him my name and address and he also said he would come out the next day. I anxiously waited the next day and when I hadn't heard from him by 1, I contacted him. He told me he could "possibly come later" and asked if I was going to be home, which we had already discussed in the previous day's interaction. Read that again please. You can either come out or not. There is no "possibly". Perhaps I should've been more assertive in asking for a time, but I digress. I called another company immediately. I never heard from Jack again. I understand not wanting to take on a job but just say so. Don't leave a customer who has been loyal, and shows appreciation with generous tips and cold drinks (after having to be in a hot attic), hanging. It pains me to write a negative review. However needless to say I will not be using this company again and wouldn't recommend it due to the inconsistency. Customer loyalty is important to me, as is communication. :( read more

If you've ever had your refrigerator stop working you know the panic that sets in. After an evening of emptying out our fridge and putting everything in a cooler on the deck, my wife and I were trying to figure out what we were going to do. I couldn't sleep very well so around 5AM I started searching for an appliance repair service. Accurate Appliance is in my neighborhood and offered 24 hours service. I called the number and a real person answered the phone. He asked me to text him the address. By 9:00AM he texted me he was on his way. By 9:30AM he was in my house. In less than an hour the fridge was up and running. Mr. Wood is a very pleasant fellow. He knows his business and I have no reason to believe his fees were not reasonable. I am very happy to know there is a reliable appliance repairman on my contact list. Remember, all things put together, fall apart. read more

I called Accurate to come out and service my Samsung Gas Range that was not working. They came out the same day and were able to fix my problem. Jack came to our home because our washing machine was grinding and our ice machine didn't work. While it was nice that Jack was accommodating to our late evening schedule, he did not do a thorough job with the work itself. First, it took him several hours to replace a part on the washing machine that my husband was able to replace within 15 minutes. Why did my husband have to replace it? Because the part that we were given was defective and did not fit right the first time. My husband even mentioned to Jack that evening that he installed it that the part looked defective or incorrect for the machine, but he was disregarded. After a few days, our washing machine returned to making the same grinding noise as it had before we called Jack. We reached out to him multiple times and he did not respond to any of the attempts. On top of all of this, we spoke to Jack about fixing our ice maker, to which he never followed up or responded to our requests for that either. Jack was incredibly kind and polite, which is why he's getting more than 1 star, however, his follow up service was extremely poor and his quality of work was not up to the $250 we spent. read more

Had Accurate appliance service. Call them explained dish washer was not draining. Spoke to few people they said it is your pump. Jack came at the time he said he would be . WELL!!!!! Jack is professional and manages your expectations on the repairs. Called for a fridge repair at noon and he's at my house around the scheduled time of 5 on the same day. On the first take, he recommends buying a new one. But after doing detailed troubleshooting, finds out the issue is with the motherboard. Saves me some $$$. Fixes it up quickly and cleans up all the dirt and my fridge is all set. Will try to post an update after 90 days if my fridge is holding up. read more

I am disappointed with this company's services. I will admit that Jack promptly came out to our home to look at our dishwasher. He informed me that our machine was leaking from the back and that he would need to pull out the machine to fix it. He stated that he would be back during the week to follow up. After a few days I called him to see when we could have our appliance fixed he stated that he would call me back and has not returned my call. We were forced to use a different company who quickly informed me that Jack misdiagnosed the appliance! The new company quickly fixed the machine in approximately 10 minutes and were extremely professional and honest. read more

I called Jack on 7/13/2020 at about 9 am in the morning when i noticed my GE side by side Refrigerator/freezer wasn't running. Jack came out within an hour or two and quickly diagnosed the problem. He had the replacement fan motor on the truck and in order to do the repair he had to remove multiple pieces including the ice maker. He had the part replaced in about 45 minutes and was on his way. I checked in on the temperature of the freezer and refrigerator later that night and all was well. But i did notice that i had no ice from the ice maker yet, after further investigation i noticed that the ice maker was not plugged in, he must have forgot to plug it in after re-installing the ice maker after the fan replacement. No big deal, i figured i would just plug it in. However the plug was so stiff from being in the freezer i could not get it plugged in. It looked like the easiest way to get this plugged in would be to remove the ice maker again, plug it in and then re-install. So i took a picture and sent it over to Jack the next day to see if he could come back and take care of this. He didn't really respond, so i let it go until the next day. Finally the next afternoon after nothing but radio silence i texted him and stated that i expect him to come back and finish the job. That is not how you should conduct business, this was his mistake and i paid $382 for the fan replacement. I paid for a job to get done at completion and then found out later that it was only done 90%. I expected him to take responsibility for his mistake and make it right. But instead he became completely unresponsive. While this was going on I was considering calling the credit card company to put a hold on the CC payment until he finished the job. Fortunately for him i don't have the time or energy at this time to deal with that. I gave him four days to see if he would respond to at least try to make it right.......nothing. So i just went ahead removed the ice maker and was able to get it plugged in then re-installed, took me 10 minutes. From a labor perspective this is not a big deal. The unresponsiveness when called attention to his mistake and the unwillingness to take responsibility and make it right are unacceptable. With that being said i would NOT recommend doing business with Accurate Appliance Repairs & Install. read more

Amazing service! The story: My home warranty place (AHS) wanted to send a 1-star repair man out to fix my broken refrigerator. I put the request in with AHS on Friday 02/15, and the 1-star guy didn't even call me back (for a broken refrigerator). I had to call AHS several times - and still I had to call the 1-star guy to find out when he would come out. His dispatch told me at 1:00 that they had just received the request that morning and hadn't processed it yet. Even though it did have URGENT status on it. I called AHS and told them it was unacceptable...and asked to speak to a supervisor about it. 1-hour later (of the worst elevator music I could imagine) a supervisor came on and told me they don't pay attention to online reviews (even though the reviews were 1-stars from 50+ people). But what they could do was allow me to find my own repair tech because the 1-star guy hadn't come for service within 24 hours for an urgent service. The result: I got the approval from AHS and the steps I needed to take. While I was waiting online I found Accurate. They had 4.5 stars...and the reviews were great! Why would anyone want a 1-star tech working in their home, when they could have a 5-star tech?! I told AHS I would be going with Accurate. I called Accurate and Jack answered. He said he would be right out. I was so surprised I said "You are coming now?!" His answer was that it was a refrigerator - you don't wait around to fix that. WOW! He was at my house in about an hour. It was a circuit board on the condenser. He even went through the process with AHS to make sure I would get reimbursed. AND his prices were fantastic on top of that! He even had the circuit board on his truck (can't keep everything on the truck, but things like that are a must) so I didn't have to wait for the part to arrive. I was more than pleased I went with Accurate. He will be my appliance repairman from here on out. read more

I called Accurate Appliance this morning, and I am so thankful that I did. My refrigerator stopped working and another company couldn't give me an appointment for 2 weeks. Jack was out at my house within 1.5 hours of my call and was friendly, knowledge and very professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem, began working to correct it and took the time to explain and show me exactly what was going on with the unit. He was able to get the fridge up and running so that we can use it while we wait for a replacement part, and even asked me to follow up with him later in the day to be sure that the unit was still cooling properly. (It's rare to find this level of personal service these days, so it was very refreshing and appreciated.) I was so happy with Jack's service, professionalism and friendly demeanor that I asked him for an extra business card so that I could share it with family members. read more

I used Accurate to fix my dryer 3 years ago and Jack did a fine job of fixing it. Since my dryer was not heating up, I called Jack again to diagnose and fix the problem. He arrived 40 minutes late on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. He looked at my dryer for a few minutes, walked around my property to look for the vent and said that the vent needed to be cleaned out, which he did not do. Jack said that once when it is cleaned, the dryer should work as normal. He charged me $123.34 for 15 minutes of nothing. I said that was crazy and he said it was because of the high cost of gas. I was his first appointment for the day and he happens to live 1.8 miles away from me. He reduced the fee to $100.34 and he didn't even bother to write a receipt. The dyer vent was cleaned on the same day by another individual. On Thursday, July 14, I used my dryer for the first time since the dryer vent was cleaned and it was not heating up. I called Jack to tell him that the dryer was not working and he said that he would be at my home on Friday, July 15 at 9:00 am since I live so close to him. I waited until 9:45 am and I called him to see if he was coming and he did not pick up the phone. $100.34 is a lot of money for 15 minutes of lip service and he didn't keep his promise of coming back. I can honestly say I have never had as good a repairman as Jack. I called him to ask for repair to a Maytag dryer. I informed him that the large dial seemed worn out and didn't click in place. He asked for the model number of the dryer and said he would call his supplier to find out if the correct part was available. About 20 minutes later he said he had the part that was causing the trouble and, if I would be home, he could be here in less than 30 minutes. Well, after I had previously battled with two other repair places about prices and service times, I gasped "Now?" He answered "don't you need the dryer over the weekend?" He came shortly, gregarious and helpful, and presto, Installed the new part. I hesitated to ask the price as he wrote up the charge. I had previously evicted a repairman who reluctantly told me there was a minimum of $220 for the call. Fortunately Jack's fee, including the part, was $138, a lot! but fair I thought. Needless to say I shall call him for any repairs in the future. read more

Contacted this company for an electrical issue on my over-the-range microwave which is preventing the keypad from working. Jack asked for a photo of the unit including model # and serial # and said he would get back to me - sent the requested info via text and heard NOTHING back. Clearly microwave repair is not part of his line of work which is fine, but please tell the customer that up front. No one has time to waste waiting on a reply for days. read more

My father called on Monday for a dishwasher repair, and this company came out on Tuesday for a service call. The dishwasher was taken apart, tested, and the breaker was reset...the dishwasher then ran a rinse cycle just fine. Total cost of the repair came to $160. Not a bad deal, however the dishwasher did not work after that. My father made a call yesterday to ask the guy to come out and check due to this item still non working, and was told that he must of done something to it. Funny thing is, we haven't touched the dishwasher till yesterday when we tried to run it. My dad was also told "well how much are you willing to spend?" What reputable business would have the nerve to say something like that? That is just very poor customer service and leaves the customer feeling ripped off. All in all, my parents feel they got ripped off by a glorified parts changer. I do not recommend this business at all, and want to make sure nobody else gets the "wonderful" customer service experience we had. In reality we received the same results he did by reading the troubleshooting guide. What a waste of money. read more
