I have been with my stylist Michelle for years and Dry Art Blowdry Bar is by far my favorite place she has been. Located in a renovated garage, the salon has a loft feel and is very open; yet at the same time there are separate spaces. Even when all of the stylists are working, it does not feel crowded. The salon offers many services including blowouts for special occasions (Keeneland, Derby, Prom, weddings). it is also possible to reserve the space for a bridal party or girls night out. Do not go here. Two years ago I went and asked for light highlights (I had dyed dark brown hair) and what I got instead was pure blonde LOWlights (or under lights). They did not apply any toner. I walked out looking like a skunk. This salon is not professional. The reason why I bring this up is because I recently had a friend visit - same experience except it was even worse for her because they dyed much more of her hair blonde. Again, very dark root - too much blonde and no toner. The stylists here should honestly be ashamed. This salon is a waste of money, time, and highly unprofessional. Point blank: the hair stylists do not care about your request, they will only accommodate whatever it is they want from their very limited and basic set of skills. read more

Ciara is the best there is for eyebrow waxing!!!! My daughter has been to numerous different places and they all ripped off her skin and they would take the volume out of her eyebrows. Ciara listens to what you want and makes them look perfect. We will not go anywhere else. read more

I schedule an appointment with Dry Art for a blowdry every time I am in Lexington. The salon is clean and beautiful and the staff is friendly and professional, not to mention, I receive a perfect blowout that lasts a few days while traveling. The product lines carried here are unique to Blow Art. I believe all products are organic including the hair color. The prices are fair, too. Much more pleasant than going to a chain wash and dry. This is such a great place to get your hair done! I'm a complete sucker for "the pony club" - $20 for a braid or ponytail. Come with your hair prewashed (or, for best results, that "next day dirty" that makes the style hold) and let the stylists work their magic! Worst hair salon experience of my life. I asked for a simple balayage and left with black, orange, and bizarre pink blonde hair. Also cut my bangs terribly and dyed them multicolored. I expressed my concerns to staff who did not fix it and even went to the owner for a refund which was never sorted out. Hair stylists and owners were very malicious when I returned and asked them to fix my hair. I wish I could give a 0/5 because of how terrible this was, I almost never want to go to a salon again. I'm now out $300 and have the trashiest and most damaged hair. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

This place is great! I recently moved back to town, and while on a visit to house hunt and job interview, I realized I forgot my hair dryer. I was able to get a quick appointment here. I got a great blowout, and also recently got a cut and highlights. All services were with Amanda, she's great. She really focuses on making sure your hair stays healthy, and their products smell amazing. And if you come with your hair already washed, it's only $25 for a blowout- ask for a 'sprint'! read more

These guys are super sweet. My friend and I flew in from NY for an event and stopped here for a blowout and style. First of all their shop in a remodelled garage which is a major plus for the size of the space and the unique quality. Everything is modern and clean and the stylists are knowledgable and talented. I really dont write reviews but I really think this Salon deserved it... I just went in for a bang trim (for the 2nd time with Randal) and while waiting for my stylist I saw awesome blowouts done on other clients. I lived in NY/NJ all my life and moved here about a year ago and found it really tough to find a good salon in Lexington...I've gotten my blowouts from various salons in Lex and it never looked as good as these clients. Sharla Hill is the owner and founder of this quality establishment. I have been enjoying her creative dry haircuts for about a year now and I only wish I had found her sooner! Good luck finding a stylist at Dry Art. I made an appointment with a stylist who has done my hair before and when I got there, I found out that my stylist wasn't there. Of course Dry Art did not call to inform me that my stylist wasn't going to do my hair. So instead of coming back another time, I talked to a new stylist about color and made an appointment for a few days later. Well that day came and I found out my new stylist wasn't there. Again, no call. Annoyed, I just sucked it up and had the owner do my hair. My hair was everything I did not want. 6 days later, I finally had an appointment to fix their mess up. After being ganged up by stylist and owner, they insisted to fix the problem instead of a refund. The owner and stylist had an attitude throughout the whole 4 hour process and were completely rude. While the stylist slapped pieces of dyed hair onto my face and leaving the dye sit on my face during the whole time and the owner rolling her eyes at me, which made the experience very unpleasant and uncomfortable. My hair is still not fixed and no refund, I am having to go to another salon for better service. So if you are looking for rude, unprofessional, and get everything you don't want then this is your place. Otherwise, stay away! read more
