We could not have achieved the install with someone who did not understand the issues we were facing. Turns out that our entire floor was in a very precarious state due to being on a hill. The constant earthquake movements beneath the surface had created not only cracks across the floor but huge humps and troughs. Wayne with his years of experience could get it to finish line, he mentioned at multiple occasions this was one the most challenging project he had undertaken. Despite the challenges and extremely hot weather, he slowly but surely kept at it. He kept diligently moving from one hump to another, one at a time but never compromising the integrity of the entire project by rushing it. He had originally planned to complete the install in 3 to 4 days(650sqt). It took 7days to get to the finish line. He took his time to ensure that despite the challenges he achieved a rock solid installation from his end. His punctuality is commendable. He showed up exactly at the same time each morning with a big smile and ready to face more humps and challenges coming his way! We could not have been more happy with the results! We recently removed a built-in and remodeled our fireplace, so the tiles around that area needed repairing/replacing. Jamen's quote was super reasonable, and once we confirmed the bid, he found us a start date right away. Jamen confirmed that one of his crew would be coming to do the job. His guy - Paolo - came punctually on the agreed upon time, explained the process, and did an awesome job repairing our tile!! Not only did he work quickly and efficiently, but he worked meticulously and made sure not to damage any existing tile. The first day took from about 9-1:30 pm to demo, cut, and set new tile. The second day he came back to do the grout (took less than an hour). Paolo explained that they wanted to make sure the tile was set/dry before grouting so that the grout color didn't blend into wet tileset color (which was white). Rich Alexander came out and gave us a ton of information on what to buy and where to get it. Rich gave us so much advice on the types, brands, sellers, required methods. Our project was a bit complicated. We had the room extended and the contractor did a poor job of laying the concrete floor. It wasn't level, it had high and low spots, it was uneven. It required a lot of correction. They poured a liquid concrete floor leveling compound. Once they had the floor corrected, they laid the engineered hardwood. Originally, we considered 3/8th sold hardwood but Rich advised on the engineered floor, the solid hardwood will sometimes take humidity and the planks might change. Once they got started laying the floor they went very fast. Working as a team, one cut the planks, a second spread adhesive and the third trim cut planks and laid the wood. Something I wasn't aware of is dumping rubbish fees. The Puente/Rose Hills landfill is closed. They have to take your old carpet to a transfer station instead of a dump. Dumping fees could be well over $!,000. Alexander might not be the least expensive but consider your floor is going to be there for 30 - 50years. You might as well get it done right.

More than five stars!…read more Succinctly, we met with three or four companies to get an estimate all of whom were pleasant but, somehow, did not seem as though they were listening to what we wanted. It was different with Ammar of Kitchen Cabinet Express, Inc. After a brief introduction and a short discussion of our intentions, he got right to the point, walking with my wife, measuring and making notes and asking questions. What resulted was a reasonable estimate for the work to be done and a plan and drawings that exactly reflected our wishes. The deadline for completion was originally set for the middle of March 2026 but was completed two weeks early. Members of Ammar's team and contractors were professional, conscientious, and hard working. They showed up on time, accomplished what was scheduled for each day. As work progressed, we desired some minor changes which Ammar and his team were very flexible and responsive in accomplishing professionally and quickly. At every point - daily work and especially at the conclusion - the site was cleaned up immaculately and all detritus was hauled away instantly. Also, a great deal of care was taken to mask, cover, and protect the house, furniture, and existing fixtures from the dust and soiling that was occasioned by the remodeling work! This review is being written a month after completion as we wanted to take our time to let the "newness" wear off and appraise the overall experience. After this time for evaluation, we find the craftsmanship flawless, the cabinets and showers and baths installed beautifully and -- overall -- the incorporation into our existing home has greatly upgraded the whole affair. Me and my husband had a great interaction with the lady who helped us with our tiles. However, when…read moremy contractor went to get the tile and grout that we ordered, they gave them the wrong grout color. I was so upset. My contractor's people already laid down the grout and Floor and Decor wouldn't pay for the labor to redo the grout. Instead they gave us a seal with the correct color to try to make it right. However when my contractor's people put it down, it just didn't have the same effect as grout. Because we couldn't afford the labor for them to redo the grout, we just have to live with the discoloration of the grout. On top of that, the tile that we chose had odd pieces to them that looked stained. You really don't know what things would look like until you purchase it. And of course I wasn't home to supervise their work, because I had a job to go to pay for all the work that didn't turn out the way I expected. Needless to say, I suggest you go to Lowe's or Home Depot for tiles because they actually are a little bit more affordable. Floor and Decor as actually expensive.
