I picked up my Mac desktop yesterday from Ace Computer Service, and cannot believe the remarkable improvements in speed! Amazing! From start to finish, I received excellent service. Jacob, who worked on my computer, was very friendly and let me know along the way what to expect. Daryl, owner, and who I retrieved my computer from yesterday, was very kind and knowledgeable. I would say they under-promised and over-delivered. I thought the price would end up being a bit more, but was happily surprised when it was on the lower end. My computer used to function slower than molasses on a cold day...I couldn't complete simple tasks and it was so frustrating. Now it is functioning as if it were new. 10/10 on all service aspects. We were visiting from out of town and all of a sudden my IPhone would not hold a charge. After checking with our son. I did a Yelp search for an IPhone repair shop and based on reviews went to Ace Computer Service. Daryl gave my phone a quick cleaning of the charging port and put it on his charger and "Boom" it worked! After inspecting my charging cable and determining that it was a cheap knock off,Daryl directed me to a spot down the road where I could buy a real Apple charging cable! I took my chances...and I regret it. I took my computer in on March 31 and they finally called me on April 6 that it was ready. They deleted Total AV from my computer ...said it was "broken", and that their protection was Poor 60% is what he said.I told him I read the reviews before I bought the fire wall and that the reviews were great ...to which his response was "they buy those reviews ". They installed Malwarebytes which is free and a ccleaner and updated my computer and ran a scan on it. They dusted my computer. Paid $150.00 ...Never again!! read more

On March 8, 2018, the screen on my Dell laptop stopped working. It just blanked out. This was my first time doing business with Ace Computer Service. I chose them because of their Internet reviews and because it was the closest laptop repair shop to my home. The counter representative talked to me about what could be the potential problem with the laptop and provided the range of possible costs associated with fixing it. He said it would take about four days to get to it and perform the diagnostic analysis. Three days later Ace Computer Service had my laptop working and ready. It turned out that the computer shop where I had purchased this Dell had assembled it incorrectly. Because the screen was improperly installed, the connector worked itself lose. Ace Computer Service properly installed the screen and did a full functions test of my laptop. It's working great. Everything about my transaction with Ace Computer Service was professional and positive. I will definitely use Ace Computer Service for any future repairs or service I need on my computers. read more

Was starting my first remote job in May 2021 and desperately needed the battery on my MacBook Pro replaced. I took it to the gentlemen at Ace and they took great care of me. Great service. I took my computer to Ace on a Monday night because my Dell laptop was not working properly. Blake said he thought it was probably just a bad chip in my power cord and it could possibly be a cheap fix. I got a call on Wednesday saying they fixed my computer. Luckily, Blake was right and it was just the charger. They also cleaned up my hard drive, installed a better anti-virus software, and completed all the needed Windows 10 updates. I respect their honesty, they could've charged a bunch of money for stuff that I didn't need and I would be none the wiser. Blake was also a great representative for the company. Great Website. Personable people. Need to hire more techs. Too busy it seems to give good service. Only one tech that I could see, maybe more but I saw no evidence of it. Had my laptop 4 days. Did not fix problems. I fixed one myself after "squirreling" around on it after I brought it home. Will commend that they did not charge me. On another issue, came to house to solve printer-WI-Fi connection problem. We got to print 4 pages and now back to "not-connected." So I don't know...take your chances I guess. read more

These are very savvy techs and will tell you the truth whether or not a repair is cost effective. They are in a position to take you to the cleaners if they desired. They don't operate this way and will go out of their way to do right by you. Their prices are competitive and their diagnostics are state of the art. These guys are great! Fast turn around on my Macbook Pro. I thought the hard drive was toast, but they fixed it up no problem. They cleaned up my hard drive, old files, and made it good as new. I took my Mac book air here for a page browser issue with a pop up They stated I just needed a tune up. Initial up front cost 50 dollars three days later went to pick up 150 dollars total paid. They installed Mac OS Mojave version but on the service order they state they installed Catalina-Strike one.They did not inform ahead they would install this version also they installed free malware protection and a free file cleaner without my consent, Any one that's a versed Mac Owner knows this is why you left PCs. Your Mac does not require any anti virus or so called "cleaning apps" in fact they can slow down your Mac or completely ruin that install of macOS also worth mentioning the future annoying free ware pop ups for an upgrade purchase that no longer becomes free ware after purchase hint hint. So I will pay some one else to completely remove any files associated with the Mal ware virus protection and cleaning App from the Hard drive, My hotspot which I use for connecting to the internet no longer works for access, So I bring this fact up and they are nice enough to have me return to the shop for remedy, they are unable to resolve and they use a very rehearsed choice of words, "well we will have to go back to where we left off to find the issue" in other words another 150 dollars. I left Quickly out of the shop disgusted with the business role-modeling attitude. They call me on the way home to tell me it's an issue with phone and mention they have already given me 30 minutes of there time. read more

I am very impressed with this company. They fixed my crashed hard drive on my laptop and were able to save EVERYTHING. When I got my laptop back everything was just like it was before but no more errors and the laptop is running way faster now too! The total cost was about $250, which was much less than I expected since the other places I called said it would cost twice as much as that just to get my files off the crashed hard drive. I own a 2012 Macbook Pro and decided to upgrade the memory recently and chose Ace Computers. To start, I am not a Corpus Christi native, so did not have any prior knowledge of Ace Computers; only what I had gathered from online reviews. I decided to give this local shop a chance. It was the best decision. The staff was super professional and the charge for the memory upgrade was totally reasonable (I had called other places and had gotten quotes). They use premium components and are complete experts. My experience overall with Ace Computers was terrific. The owner Daryl Vernon was very courteous and professional along with the gentleman who specifically worked on my Macbook. Thank you Daryl, your shop is a gem in the Coastal Bend. I will definitely be going back for any other computer needs and will be referring my colleagues to come here as well instead of traveling to San Antonio or the Rio Grande Valley. They took in my iMac and ruined it. They SAID they were qualified, but clearly were not when after two weeks and running several texts, they said we can't find anything wrong (except when I brought it in it had designs on the screen, but whatever). One test, they explained to me, made the mac so hot they couldn't touch it. That gave me some pause because that doesn't even make sense to run a test to try to ruin a machine with heat or force components to fail by OVERHEATING THEM. (wtf?) I picked it up, took it to another place that told me components on the inside had MELTED due to, you guessed it, overheating. I complained to ACE but was told the machine was fine (!) when it left their shop, even though they could never figure out the problem. After I explained about the other repair place and what they found, I asked for my fee back. ACE ignored me and I'm stuck with a busted computer that ACE had the gall to ask for back, so they could try to fix it. I assume a hammer or blowtorch would be there tools. I wouldn't take a busted flip phone there. read more

My computer quit working for a few days and I wasn't sure what the problem was. I took it into Ace and they were able to quickly find out the solution. I would highly recommend this place to anyone facing computer trouble. The staff is very friendly and are dedicated to helping you find a solution. I gave 4 stars because Ace is very expensive. I bought a new charger for my HP and it cost me around $75. You're better off buying supplies elsewhere, but for any technical difficulties, they're the real deal. read more
