He somehow makes an all-day class feel like it goes by quickly! What I appreciated most was his teaching style. He doesn't just give you the answers, he walks you through the question or scenario and helps you critically think your way to the answer yourself. He takes the time to explain things clearly and makes sure everyone feels comfortable asking questions. This was a challenging class for me, and having an instructor like P.W. made a huge difference. I'm hoping the next time I take a class, he'll still be teaching here!

But I will tell you that man kept me laughing and engaged, I didn't doze off even once. I felt like I left the building with a good solid foundation for my new job. I heard that the business is looking for a new home, apparently the owner of the building sold it and gave them very short notice. So it will still be in the Mission Valley area and if you are looking to take a PALS class, I highly recommend it.

Was quoted nearly $700. This office doesn't answer their own calls. They instead transfer calls to a lousy call center which is why mine was answered by Lily. Lily quoted me nearly $700 for about 6 tubes of blood because I have a total of 5 at-home blood test kits. They want $115 per kit. However if I had just 1 kit that required 6 tubes then price would be $115. These are prices just for blood draw. I made it clear I would be shipping the kits myself. This price quote was so ridiculous and unfair that I politely asked Lily to transfer the call to the office or put me on hold and speak to them herself to get a final price. I asked for this 3 times during the call. She refused. Upset, offended and frustrated I let Lily know $700 for a 15-30 min blood draw was outrageous, unfair and expensive and that I would leave a review about it thinking maybe then she'd offer to double check directly with the office. I was wrong. Lily instead got sassier. She couldn't care less that her attitude, refusal to contact the office or offer a more reasonable price was about to get WellnessMart a negative review. Shame on this facility for failing to speak directly to potential customers to offer clear and honest pricing and allowing such nasty behavior. That is in addition to quoting nearly $700 for a blood draw that would take 15-30 minutes. Unhelpful team, poor care quality and overall a very shady experience.

Their experienced medical professionals provide thorough evaluations, prioritizing safety and peak performance on the field. I took my two older sons (age 7 and 5) to a sports physical. My two younger sons (3 and 2) tagged along. I really like that they have multiple daily appointments to help a father like me with a busy schedule. They have parking in front so that was helpful. They have a small, intimate office space with no wait. I was seen right on time and the two nurses on staff, Adriana and Cat were very nice. They greeted me and my 4 young sons with a smile and told me to sign in, which is super easy on a small pad. If you want a fancy and new doctor's office, this is not the place for you. If you want clean, quick and basic then you will be very happy. The coolest thing about this clinic is the modern, virtual doctor who checked my boy's hearts and lungs listening to them through Zoom. I was referred to Wellnessmart by another mother on our flag football team, so I had no doubt about the services I would receive, but Adriana and Cat really went above and beyond to ensure Wellnessmart lived up to its reputation. The class wasn't very structured or thorough. It just seemed very rushed and hasty and a little…read moresloppy. At one point, I tried to ask her a question about whether the breathing part actually delivers enough oxygen, but her answer was for a different question. I felt like she didn't take the time to listen to what I was asking. The CPR training was reasonable, but the First-Aid part was barely addressed. I recently completed a NOLS/WMS Wilderness First-Aid course through REI, and I felt like I learned so much there. And while being in the wilderness may be a significant difference in circumstances, the injuries are not. Blisters, heat-exhaustion, impalements, etc. can all happen anywhere, especially with children. But in the end they were quick to respond to my email, and I got my certification in less than 2 hours, on a holiday weekend no less, so I guess I should be happy with that. I'm just not someone who's looking for an 'easy A'. It's kind of sad, because many of the students that come here are working for schools or the YMCA, and they're supposedly the ones trained to handle your children in emergency situations.

The only thing that sucked about it was the fact that this was farther inland, and thus it got hotter during the day. This building is farther away from the main freeways that connect San Diego to LA and the IE. It is still a nice, calm drive. The instructor hosting the training was a chill person. We connected well, as we're both veterans. The other students were a mixture of healthcare professionals, event planners, law enforcement, and industrial managers. We were training to be instructors, so this made sense. The class was more fun than anything. It flew by fast. Once we all got a turn teaching a section and getting feedback, we were good to go. The building is clean, spacious, and comfortable. The only thing is, if you come to do training here, make sure to bring food, or to plan it accordingly. The food places are a bit far from here. Overall, the training was fun in a comfortable setting. I would recommend this place, whether you come here for recerts or to certify as an instructor.
