One word: awful. I wouldn't recommend, I had the most stressful experience and I've been renovating my cpr/first aid for a couple years on different places. Never had such a negative experience like this one. The staff is really rude and the instructor of the Spanish class made a lot of rude jokes while doing the course. She was mean to a pregnant woman that couldn't understand really well how to do the chest compressions and she started yelling at her to "do it right" in a rude bad way. It was the class in Spanish but my other coworkers have been experiencing the same with the white lady in the front desk. My boss was the one that suggested us to go there but the white lady was even rude to her this time so we're never going back! read more

Worst phone customer service experience. Kris who answers the phones was rude and unhelpful. She doesn't actively listen and will cut you off in mid question/sentence. I was close on canceling all together and find a different location, but only stayed due to its close driving distance from home. The instructor, JJ, on the other hand was awesome. He made the class enjoyable and was both engaging and thorough. Especially liked how he spoke in repetition to help us better remember key steps. read more

I had a few different friends tell me about the importance of CPR based on their personal experiences. I had learned years ago, but did not remember enough to get through an emergency if one came up. Fortunately, a friend directed me to AmeriMed, and I was able to train in CPR (adult, child, and infant) and first aid for a full day. Taylor, the instructor was excellent. He used stories, examples, and repetition to help us retain the information. We also received a book of notes to keep. Online reg was easy, and there was ample parking. The teacher in this class is to the point. The only thing you should be aware of is this is a AHA approved class but it's not an AHA partner so your CPR will not look the same and might not be considered for use. read more

A nice place to get re-certified for CPR classes because hours are flexible to those who works all day. But customer service is very bad. Theyll put you on hold on the phone for too long, pretends to get your number but hangs up right away. They don't find the time to help you get your CEU's certificates that you paid for. read more

I took a long day of preventive health and on another day CPR + first aid. Lynda is great, funny, knowledgeable and has tons of relevant funny stories. We got enough breaks to go through 2 X 4 hour classes. It gets a little cold in the room sometimes so bring a extra layer. read more

My first time doing CPR and First Aid with AmeriMed and I'd like to say I really enjoyed it. I've been working with before and after school programs for almost 7 years and I have not enjoyed taking CPR and First Aid as much as I did here. Linda Callan was great. She was very resourceful, patient, hands on and made sure we understood what we needed to know. I love that she did not rush us and the materials, gave us sheets to look at and go over and keep; and at the end we still ended early even with a long lunch. She connected with us. Oh and I love that it was a small group. About 15 of us. Will definitely be going back to AmeriMed to renew my CPR and First Aid every two years. Hopefully Linda will be there. read more

Needed to get my card for school, found this place on yelp. My instructors were Avery and a super sweet black guy (can't remember his name, sorry) but he instructed us most of the time. Came here for my BLS Certification and I was pleasantly surprised to how easy the whole process was. Since I never have taken any kind of CPR or BLS I was really nervous and didn't know what to expect. I had easily signed up the week before on AmeriMed's Website. There were a lot dates and times to choose from which was nice since it gave me time to look up material beforehand. I'm honestly glad I signed up with them as other companies charge up to $10 more and you still have to pay an additional $12 for the BLS book. The actual class was really enjoyable. There was ample parking in their small parking lot, so that was a relief. My class size was really small (five people) and our instructor, Emilie, was really personable and welcoming. We watched a DVD that walked us though the process and stopped every so often to learn hands-on. If we wanted to repeat something we were able to and only moved on when we were comfortable. Overall, AmeriMed made the WHOLE process, from signing up to receiving my BLS certificate, straight forward, easy, and enjoyable. I will definitely be coming back here to renew! read more

Had to do a CPR and first aid training class for work and was recommended this place by my coworker. I am so glad that I came here! Not only was it affordable compared to some places I've looked at, but our instructor Taylor was great. He was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions we had. They had great communication and were very clear on what was expected from us and what to expect during class time. Christine (?) contacted me beforehand to make sure that I got the right certificate for my work and even emailed us about the limited parking space. I got there early the day of class and found the building easily and had no problem with parking. My only thing about this class is that the space is kind of small and the dummies we trained on was tough to practice on (couldn't get it's mouth open to breath in). Overall, I would recommend this place if you need your CPR training done! read more

Got my certification here on Sunday. The instructor was very thorough and made sure everyone on the class was on the same page and that all questions were answered fully. He provided feedback, very professionally, where needed to ensure everyone was 100% providing the best quality CPR. I'm terrible with remembering names, but my instructors last name was Johnston. I've been a client of AmeriMed since 2008 obviously they are awesome or I wouldn't be a returning client. The staff is very knowledgeable, kind and patient. Their materials are up to date and the mannequins (dummies) are clean and in properly working order. I recently got my CPR and First Aid certificate here at AmeriMed. The instructor, Jordan Johnston was very knowledgable and helpful in teaching CPR. Though the class is about a 6-7 hours long, Jordan keeps the class interesting, and because of that, it moves by fast. He was also able to answer all my questions and knew a great deal about CPR and First Aid. Great! I had a CPR/First Aid class today with Linda and 16 other folks that decided to forgo Jesus on a Sunday. I was one of the 2 of us that decided to take this course on our own instead of having to for work so maybe I enjoyed it more than others, but for a normal boring, redundant class the time flew! Linda had good speed and stories as well as got the necessities in. I really feel like I could and would be successful in an emergency if needed and that's pretty awesome. This is my first time taking a CPR/FIRST AID CLASSES and I looked online and they were very expensive like the Red Cross but with AmeriMed the prices are REALLY GOOD compared to all the other companies. I wasn't looking forward to the class cause it was from 830 to 530 and thought it was going to be long day and get a boring instructor but I was WRONG with LINDA she's Funny and informative makes the class really interesting so you enjoy it and even tells you real life scenerios. A couple days ago I took my most recent class (I need to take CPR and First Aid every 2 years for my daycare license) and it exceeded my expectations yet again! My instructor was Jared D and he was amazing! He was extremely knowledgable and experienced in the medical field, was funny and kept the class very modern and helpful! His teaching style made it so I left the class feeling confident that I could perform CPR and/or First Aid as needed in the real world! I can't recommend this company and this instructor enough!!! I signed up for a CPR renewal class online and when I showed up for class the instructor said I couldn't take the class because my certificate had expired. When I signed up online they indicated to bring an unexpired certificate, but did NOT provide any alternatives as to what to do if the certificate was expired. I figured I needed a renewal and so I signed up for the renewal class. When the instructor rejected me for the class I called to reschedule and they said I had to pay and additional fee since "I had rescheduled the class" I DID NOT voluntarily reschedule the class and so I felt it was an unfair situation. I tried disputing the charge through my credit card, but the manager, Christine Gallagher wrote a letter saying that "I was lying and that I was unwilling to comply to their policies", furthermore saying that she had emailed me saying I didn't qualify for the class which was completely untrue. First of all, why would I waste my time and show up to a class if I knew I didn't qualify for it? Why would I complain about something if I knew about it? This situation was completely and absolutely unpleasant and ridiculous. One should NOT be able to enroll for a class if they don't qualify for it. And furthermore, as a customer, one should be given the respect to come to some sort of agreement about a misunderstanding. These people suck and I will NEVER step a foot in their classroom again. I'm giving them a 1 star rating because of their lack of care towards their customers. read more

I have had AmeriMed do our staff trainings for five years. They are always professional and informative. Today, my 15 year old and 14 year old took a cpr and first aid class. They came home excited and knowledgeable of first aid and CPR. The teacher (Avary) is awesome and registration was hassle free. Totally recommend this company. We'll be back in two years! read more

Such an amazing class! I took my renewal for CPR/BLS for healthcare providers. The staff was so friendly and knowledgable! Marilyn and Jordan were so great! The best part was the tips from instructors that have actually used their training. It was so much more hands on and fun then the first class I took. I went through AmeriMed for my BLS Instructor certification. The classroom was basic and cozy and Chris's teaching style very direct. She also was the one to monitor my first teaching session. She responded quickly to every email and was even able to get a few supplies to me that I did not realize were missing until an hour before my class. She had a great sense of humor, but also gave me great pointers and advice. Nonetheless, my confidence was boosted and I am looking forward to teaching more classes on my own because I had a teacher who has taken the time to make sure I succeed. Highly recommend! read more

Horrible Experience I think it must have been an off day for this instructor since the reviews seem to love him. I found him rude and condescending He created a class atmosphere that felt like a dark cloud. I didn't enjoy my experience at all and I just completed an NRP class. Polar opposites comparing the NRP instructor to this guy I will not be going back nor will I recommend this place. First it was so hot in the adjacent room to the front enterence, then they moved us to the air conditioned room that smelled like pure mold. He kept walking in and out of the room, the back door kept opening and closing, just constant interuptions. We could hear people talking really loudly while trying to listen to the video etc. This is the first time in my medical career that I have ever hated a class like this. I really wished i had gotten the other instructor. Just wasn't my day read more

I went here yesterday to receive my CPR/First Aid certificate. I had been wanting to take the course with the Red Cross but they didn't have any classes until the 26th, and I needed my certificate before the 19th. Let me just say... I absolutely loved the course! You come in, check in, and sit down. There was about 27 of us in the class. For the CPR portion of the course we had two instructors: Taylor and Jordan. As for the first aid portion, we just had Jordan. It seemed as if Taylor was in the process of learning but he was great. He explained everything perfectly clear. Jordan was also a great instructor. What stood out the most about him was his loud voice and his humor. He's a natural at instructing the class and his stories are on point. Both instructors were extremely attentive and dedicated. I also have to say that I woke up super sore because you get A LOT of hands on training, which is perfect for me. The instructors also walk around the classroom and help whoever is having trouble individually until the person gets the hang of it. I came into the classroom thinking it was going to be torture but I genuinely enjoyed it, and it was worth every penny. I even bought a barrier for CPR! Overall great course and excellent instructors. Will definitely come back in 2 years. read more

I took the CPR class on Thursday, 1/22/15. The class was scheduled from 6pm-10pm, at 6:10 there was 8 of us sitting outside the facility waiting for the instructor. I decided to call the number on the website as it said "call anytime" The answering company called the owner Chris, who told the operator someone would be there "soon" about 6:25, Chris pulls up and rushes to get paperwork for everyone to fill out and then the instructor comes in, appearing 1/2 asleep. At the start of the class he proceeds to tell us he has a second job and works 16 hour shifts. That's great, I work 65 hours a week and don't appreciate you showing up almost 30 mins. late. Once the class started all was good, we completed early which was appreciated since there was only a few of us in the class. I was glad this school offered classes several times a week at different times, but show up on time, maybe this instructor should consider only having one job. read more
