Wow, just wow... The Juliet isn't the fanciest, but you will not find or dive any dive sites this…read morepristine anywhere in the US. The diving was some of the best I've experienced. No other boats at any of their sites other than Sapona, which is a wreck dive just a few miles from South Bimini. I could do a whole review on this site alone. There's something to be said for diving without 2 or 3 other boats on the same site much less anywhere to be seen. Back to The Juliet, she used to be a cargo ship now converted to a liveaboard dive ship with enough room for 12 guests and 6 crew. Upon arrival you will be treated like a guest and depart feeling like family. Outfitted with the diver in mind, it's super easy to get spoiled diving from the Juliet. Super easy giant stride off either side, the best ladder I've ever used to exit the water and 15 ft bar to assist on those 3-minute safety stops. The crew operates like a well-oiled machine with each one doing whatever needs to be done. Unfortunately, we did have a medical emergency on the trip and the crew immediately went into action and got the Coast Guard involved in an air lift operation to get the afflicted passenger to hospital care. All the while they kept the rest of us updated on what was going on. Sorry no pictures, but this was impressive on all accounts. Back to the fun diving part... The Juliet offers Nitrox only diving (they can certify you if you're not already), 3 day and 1 night dive are offered daily, the dives range from 20'-100' and you can lionfish hunt or take photos to your heart's content. We did do a couple of drift dives, but the current wasn't really cooperating. I'd like to give a special shoutout to Jimmy for taking care of all our lionfish and keeping the boat running, Frenchie for making them into ceviche and some of the best lobster bisque ever, Matt excellent DM and the great dive briefings, Lyndsey for her great love and knowledge of 'fish of the dive', John N. for night watch and all the little things, John B. 'the man, the myth, the legend' Dude!!! Bonus, I did get to meet Liza and the boat cats (Rico and Sauve) on the last day of my stellar Bahamas trip. Our boat was going about 40 mph and making wild turns on the water. A word to the wise, if you don't want to get wet, then sit in the middle area and not the back. You will see the Port of Miami, the Miami downtown skyline, Star Island and Millionaires Row, Palm Island, Fisher Island, South Beach and speed to the Atlantic Ocean. Time it right and you will see the sunset. The Captain and crew are awesome and will give you great info. This is definitely something you want to do in Miami! Adult tickets, age 12+ are $45 and kids 3-11 are $35. Parking can be found at Bayside Marketplace Garage. Check Groupon for specials. You can show up and board fairly quickly. There are plenty of restaurants at Bayside if you are hungry afterwards.

We spent about 40 minutes crawling at around 2 mph and only got about 5 minutes of actual speed. The rest of the ride was painfully slow. Because the boat barely moved, there was no wind at all, and we were stuck sitting in the scorching heat. When we complained, the manager didn't even try to help. Instead, she started yelling at us. She first claimed that higher speeds were "illegal" in the area. Then she also told us that the captain was still learning to operate the boat, as if that somehow justified the experience. I honestly don't understand what that has to do with the time and money I paid for. Customers shouldn't be paying full price to be part of someone's training. This felt like false advertising and a complete waste of time and money. If you're expecting a real speedboat ride, avoid this company and book somewhere else.

The ship had so many activities and places to explore we didn't even get to see everything. SO many family friendly activities and we loved the pools. We never had a hard time finding a lounger by the pool which is always a sticking point for me. At Catalina, the tender boats were easy to get on and off and it was a fast trip to the island. Staff overall was very professional and polite. Definitely felt a lot of pressure to fill out the survey after the cruise as many staff members explicitly told us to rate them 10. One server mentioned how he needed the 10 score to send money back to his family. Service was excellent, but talk about pressure! I think they should leave it up to the guests to make their own minds. They also pushed the drink packages pretty hard on the ship if you didn't have one. They were always trying to sell something. Food was pretty good! I was surprised. I LOVED the buffet. The specialty dining was OK, not sure if it was entirely worth it. We tried the Italian place on. board and it was pretty good, but along the same quality as the rest of the food on the ship. Definitely recommend making those reservations in advance if you can because they fill up! As a family vacation, this was super affordable and an overall good time for all ages. Highlight was the family karaoke and the rock-a-roke! Casino was fun and ALWAYS busy. However a hand full of the machines weren't working. My son loved the kids club and kept saying he wanted to go back! Our room was nice. We had one queen bed and a sofa/bed (which we didn't use for sleeping cause it was pretty small). For two adults and a toddler it was a good size. Highly recommend getting a room with a balcony! Loved looking out onto the water every day and we even saw a pod of dolphins! So magical! Another way they can improve is to have more pool towel stations! The pools were pretty spread out but you had to walk so far to get towels at the ONE location, and there was always a line. The themed nights were fun and some people went all out with dressing up but there was no pressure to participate. Lots of options for excursions but they are better for adults or older kids. Crazy enough, my mom broke her finger while on the ship and the medical team was so fast and thorough. Kudos to the doctors and nurses on board. TLDR, great affordable option for a family vacay. Decent food, great pools, comfy rooms.

So you booked the cruise eh? Think that's it? It's not. Read the fine print. They will uncharge you to almost double the price of the cruise itself. Excursions are insanely overpriced, book them from the vendor directly. Make sure you know you'll be charged $18.50+ a day for gratuity PER PERSON. You can cancel this on the cruise itself, but be warned, they'll screw you and the line for customer service will wrap around the ship. Now, that's all disclosed, and it's my fault for not reading it. So I want to just warn you all, cancel automatic gratuity as soon as you board. Leave tips. Carry cash. If you do a dining experience PLEASE tip them. Those people are great. But don't this is predatory cruise line steal your money. Why am I so angry with them? Let me tell you. We booked a cruise that was called "THE HUBBARD GLACIER CRUISE". It was an alaska cruise. We paid extra for a large balcony room to see a glacier. Guess what we DIDN'T see? Yeah, the Hubbard Glacier. Now you may ask, why not? Good question. ONE day prior to boarding we were told that our final port would NOT be Seward, but instead Whittier. We pre-paid for a train ride from Seward to Anchorage that promised beautiful views on a 4 hour train ride. The ride from Whittier to Anchorage? 90 minutes and so so. Refund? $50 on a $400 train ride. That's it. We find out the destination changed due to port construction in Seward. Construction that had been ongoing for a while and didn't complete until 3 weeks after our cruise, so it was known WELL in advance that it wouldn't be ready, but they wait until the day before to let us know. At that point, it's too late to change our transportation, and in Whittier a cab, uber, rental car, etc. doesn't event exist. So they know they own you. They don't care. On to the Glacier Viewing. The second to last day was supposed to be the Hubbard Glacier. A place realistically only viewable from a ship. The reason we ALL booked this cruise. On day 5, after we ALL got back on the ship after docking in Skagway, the Captain comes on and tells us that due to the new docking in Whittier (again, known well in advance), we would have to skip the Glacier and sail all day and night right into Whittier. So you are telling me that we knew we were going to Whittier a day before the cruise left, but we didn't know until the night prior there were restrictions on when we could access the dock and time management was now a problem? Needless to say the ship nearly broke out into riots and the line for customer service was front to back for the rest of the cruise. If this was weather, mechanical, whatever, I get it. It would suck, but I'd get it. I work in the transportation industry and sometimes you just get bad luck. This, however, was lying and preventable. They stole from ALL of us. Now, that aside, the food was terrible, and our "junior suite" cabin creaked and popped the whole time so loudly we could barely sleep and thought it would probably sink. The view from our balcony was of lifeboats and their support hoists. Their apology was an embarrassing room credit. That's it. Why didn't they cancel Skagway and go to the glacier? Well, they sold a ton of excursions in Skagway they'd have to refund. Floating around a Glacier that makes them no money is the much better option to cancel. I contact customer service multiple times for a more reasonable compensation. I couldn't have been told to F--K Off more times than they did. Nothing. No care or concern in the world. I will NEVER use Royal Caribbean again and I wish nothing but the worst upon them. One thing I will say, their staff on the boat are the nicest people ever. They were the only saving grace of this piece of s--t cruise line. You won't have a single complaint about the staff. Ever. But you WILL make a Royal Caribbean Voodoo doll when you get off that old a$$ beat to hell boat with garbage food. Don't say I didn't warn you. use Virgin Voyages, by far the superior cruise line.
