The hair studio was a very nice atmosphere and very clean. I was very impressed by the way she handled my hair and did the perfect relaxer correction, color correction and trim on my hair. I was lucky enough to find Jen on Yelp, after having gotten a single-process color at another salon, which was essentially opposite of what I'd requested (and was really unflattering with my skin tone, eye color, etc.). Jen responded the same evening to the message I sent her via Yelp, and took plenty of time communicating with me to ascertain what needed to be done and to give me a price quote. She then took more time consulting with me in person at our appointment (she fit me in the very next day, bless her heart!). Jen outlined two different options for accomplishing the color I wanted, and carefully explained the pros and cons of each. Jen is meticulous about her work. After she'd applied the corrective color and dried my hair a bit, she took me outside in the bright sunlight to make sure the old color had been completely covered. Feeling it could be eradicated even just a bit more, Jen spent more time (without adding to the quote she'd given me the night before) and added a toner. Jen is truly conscientious and professional, clearly wants to make her clients happy, and is just genuinely nice to be around! The color Jen gave me is rich, beautiful, and exactly what I was after, and I received tons of compliments on it today. Angela was pretty booked for color, so I scheduled a haircut with her first to get in a bit sooner and see if she would be a good fit for me. Before my appt, I also sent photos of my Inspiration haircolors/styles via text and in turn, she had me send her current pics of my hair and a summary of my color history. What I loved and appreciated was Angela's honesty and frankness. She didn't sugar coat anything and based on photos alone questioned if my hair was even healthy enough to withstand another bleach transformation to achieve the look of my inspiration pics. On the day of my haircut appt- she assessed the damage and confirmed my hair wasn't healthy enough at that time to get the results I was looking for with color and it would probably break if I bleached it again this soon. Not what I wanted to hear- but it is what it is...and I had consulted with another stylist prior at a different salon who essentially said the same thing. Angela spent a long time with me listening to my hair goals and examining my hair and we came up with a game plan focused on improving the health of my hair in preparation for my Inspiration pics. Loved the haircut and the vibes w/ Angela and the salon so I excitedly scheduled an appt a month out for the color. What Angela did was amazing! The brassiness/orange/warm tones disappeared, my grays were gone, and with a B3 treatment felt soft, healthy and had amazing shine. I was so impressed I booked her for the same thing again! I am beyond thrilled to have found a new salon and stylist with Angela at Shenanigans. She is super kind, professional, on time, upfront and talented. Shenanigans is right off the 91 frwy in a small strip mall with a mexican restaurant and Farmer Boys restaurant. The salon is clean, huge, and with alot of natural lighting. The other stylists and staff were all very professional, welcoming and friendly as well. So I go around to the other side but nobody seems to acknowledge. I decide to sit down and hopefully someone comes by and assists. I waited for a while and was just about to leave. Ariel comes in and has an appointment with the lady who was sitting next to me. She sees me there and asks me if I needed help. I explain to her what I need (which was a quick trim on my bangs) and she was so kind enough to do it for me. Not only was she helpful and did a great job but she was just the sweetest!
