I just can't say enough good things about Jen! She is down-to-earth, warm, and kind, and is clearly a skilled and knowledgeable stylist. I was lucky enough to find Jen on Yelp, after having gotten a single-process color at another salon, which was essentially opposite of what I'd requested (and was really unflattering with my skin tone, eye color, etc.). Jen responded the same evening to the message I sent her via Yelp, and took plenty of time communicating with me to ascertain what needed to be done and to give me a price quote. She then took more time consulting with me in person at our appointment (she fit me in the very next day, bless her heart!). Jen outlined two different options for accomplishing the color I wanted, and carefully explained the pros and cons of each. Jen is meticulous about her work. After she'd applied the corrective color and dried my hair a bit, she took me outside in the bright sunlight to make sure the old color had been completely covered. Feeling it could be eradicated even just a bit more, Jen spent more time (without adding to the quote she'd given me the night before) and added a toner. Jen is truly conscientious and professional, clearly wants to make her clients happy, and is just genuinely nice to be around! The color Jen gave me is rich, beautiful, and exactly what I was after, and I received tons of compliments on it today. I wrote a review for Jenn a year ago, but I wanted to post an update. I still go to Jenn to have my hair cut and colored and she is still fabuous. I have curly/wavy/does-what-it-wants hair and she always gives me a great cut. Her color work is also so good - never looks flat or "off" and we have done several different tones. I have referred her to several friends who "needed a change" and they came back very pleased! Even if you're not quite sure what you want, Jenn can definitely help you out. It came out ash and caramel exactly what I wanted without damaging my hair or using 3 different toners. She knows what she's doing! Being a vegetarian, I enjoy having so many options. My all time favorite is the corn dogs with the special sauce they make. I also enjoy the lentil soup. I like the tacos too. I found Jennifer through Yelp. She was very friendly and listened to what I wanted. Unfortunately, the end result did not turn out very well. My hair was very dry and damaged the following year after the appointment. My hair would break off and knot up so easily which it has never done before. Additionally, there was a neon yellow tone to my hair and a solid line of grow out (which goes against the purpose of a balayage). I'm sure she is great a other services; I would just recommend seeing someone with more experience for balayage. She wanted to do a good job and she could tell I was not ecstatic with the final product, and said she would follow up with me. I was disappointed that she never followed up. read more
